My Reflections/ Insights

SETH JOHN L. AGRUDA

After making a survey of the barangay and interviewing the teacher, answer the following
questions:
1. How do you feel about the participation of the school, teacher and learners in the
celebration of the barrio fiesta?
I am delighted that they both participated in the activities they implemented. Such as the
teacher and the learners are very supportive to the barrio fiesta in which they show cooperation
towards the community. With this, when schools partner with diverse community providers, not
only do students receive support in diverse ways, but teachers have access to professional
development and collaboration time that might not otherwise be available. Further, by engaging
teachers in governance and partnership matters, teachers are able to work directly with
community and families and to set the direction for the school. This builds mutual trust, a shared
vision, expands professional development and strengthens social capital among adults serving
students.
2. How does the view of the people in the community improve the teacher’s status?
Improving teacher quality is at the heart of our national effort to achieve excellence in the
classroom. This comes at a time when the very structure of education is going through a profound
change. With knowledge all around us, available anytime and anywhere, the role of the teacher is going
to be fundamentally transformed in the 21st century.

In this way, the teacher may go beyond deeper to check what is lacking to change her traits to be
highly accepted by the community. In the teacher’s status, view of the people in the community help
teacher’s status improve maybe with the help of giving good feedbacks to the teacher. By means of this
any institution may accept his/her application for his/her good performance.

3. What realization that relates to your becoming a teacher, have you gained from your
concrete experiences and observations in the community?
I realized that the roles of the teacher are numerous and challenging. Aside of the classroom, the
teacher must also be known outside the school system. He/she must be ready to go into research and
community service. The role of a teacher in society is both significant and valuable. It has far-reaching
influence on the society he lives in and no other personality can have an influence more profound than
that of a teacher. In addition to these attributes, the role of a teacher is to acquire professionalism and
ethics and abide by their own moral code and that of their school, while maintaining a commitment to
confidentiality between students, colleagues and the community.

Using what I have learned in this episode, when I become a teacher, I should learn some of this attributes
in order to implement this to my students. If God’s well that I’ll be a lecturer to some learners, I would like
to learn this attributes and have a restrain factor with my temper when I become one. One thing that I
have learned from this episode is that, teaching should have a heart. Teaching doesn’t only mean just
teaching, but it is further than this kind of thing. It made me understand the real meaning of being a
teacher is to have a good value within thy self as a teacher. In this way, I became more aware of what are
the things I should do for myself that would be applied to my students. Starting on this day, I need to have
a self-evaluation, and consider this attributes to be enhanced as I go along with this line of profession. In
the near future, I would love to teach kids and make them realize of those beautiful things in this world,
and become more positive in life.
