In todays school system bullying has taken over.

Children that are being bullied are most often to scared

to tell someone. They are usually children that are small, less fortunate, or look different. The bully
usually gets away with this because no one will stand up to them. In 2018 it was reported by National
Voices for Equality Education and Enlighten that every 7 minutes a child is bullied. The suicide rate of
children between the ages of 10-14 has doubled. It is also reported that 160,000 children miss school
due to fear of being bullied.

If I was to start a program, I would want it to be acknowledge nationwide. My program would be the
parents of the bully would have to attend school with them. For each occurrence the time the parents
would have to be in school with there child would increase. This would hold the parent accountable for
there child’s actions. If my mom had to spend time in school with me for my behavior, I assure you I
would immediately correct my behavior.

Most parents of bullies claim they had no clue this was happening. In reality they have lost control of
their child. My program would assure the safety of the other children while the parent is present. This
might embarrass the bully enough to stop, or make their parents make them behavior. Most schools
only suspend he child for a couple of days. What happens when they return the child is still bullied
because the parent wasn’t inconvenienced. Most adults don’t like having to leave or call out from work
to deal with a child’s behavior.

Which ever program is adopted it needs to be put in place quickly. There are to many parents grieving
because their child couldn’t take the pressure of the bully. It is sad when the parents are on the news
crying because their child committed suicide because they were being bullied. The other children
parents always say we weren’t aware this was going on. That seems like a poor reply to another child’s
death.
