November Coffee Hour

During community coffee hour this past week there was a prompt that stated, “How can
we be intentional about harnessing our energy for good?” that caused a great debate amongst
many students that attended including myself.

I believe that in order for one to be intentional about harnessing our energy for good we
have to know what that entails exactly on our own part to be able to carry out the functions of
good along with how it can be impactful on not only ourselves but others. Harnessing our energy
for good can be seen in many different ways but one is, how someone interacts with others with
good influential morals and strives to be the best they can be on a daily basis and make the most
of things even if it seems incapable. A leader is a good example of someone that is intentional
about harnessing one’s energy for good, by which they strive for greatness within their social or
work groups and encourage others to join the cause of being the best they can be at any given
time.

In my own life, I want the most for me and my future and everyday it’s a constant battle
for sure. Seeing my closest friends go out and party on a nightly basis and skip their classes
becomes very tempting for me. Wishing I was having that much fun in college, but I can’t
because it could very well cost me everything I’ve ever worked for and dreamed of having. In
belief of possessing the intentional harnessing energy for good, every day I look for the positives
and silver linings of why I do what I do and hold my self-accountable for. It sure isn’t easy but
no one said it was going to be, but the overall reward will make the world of a difference one day
I believe when I’ll be the well set one out of my friends when were old, even though right now
they seem to be better off and having a good time while I’m not. Even though I may not see it
clearly on a daily basis or even at all, I know that GOD has instilled a plan into my life that has
me on the path for greatness and all I have to do is have faith in him and his guidance and most
importantly work hard.

All in all, I believe that one who can be intentional with harnessing our energy for the
good will go far in life as well as have a large impact on others throughout their life of being a
good human being as well as a leader in all fields of life.
