Answer the following exercises:

1. Study the components and the corresponding percentage weights. What if schools had no policies on
the grading system? What may happen? What are possible consequences on teaching and learning?

Answer: If schools had no policies on students tardiness and absences, possibly improper ways of
learning may brought impact between learners and teachers, late learning will lead to failure and low
accountability to pass. Besides school can obtain bad records among others who implemented good
quality education and well-disciplined behavior. Rules should be implemented since educators
reputation may affect if he/she didn't manage it.

3. Based on DepEd Order on PTA collections, why are schools very strict with money collections?

Answer: The reason why schools are very strict with money collections because it isn't the obligation at
all of the parents to raise financial material just to work for the so called projects of the school. Further
on, not all parent can provide contributions for only what they are thinking is free education of their
child. Somehow, it may turn into corruption too if some teachers behave dishonesty. Money is the root
of all evil in regards to this, money can start a conflict once it is unethical.

4. The policies given above come from Deped Central Office. Should all school policies come from DepEd
Central Office? Can school also formulate their own policies? If YES, why? If NO, why not?

7. Why are the policies important in a school?

Answer: Policies in school are important , these are the do's and don'ts inside or even outside the
school premises. Policies sets limits, it help us avoid or minimize the possible mistake that might
happen. Policies teaches us and mold us to be more responsible for the things around us. It may not be
in favour for us but it is just for our own good and safety. It is necessary to set school policies especially
that students nowadays are at the stage in their life where they are more curious, they tend to explore
and do the things that may lead to a disaster. Also it is important for those who were lazy students who
tend to procastinate passing their projects and requirements. It is necessary to set deadlines for them to
learn on how to manage their time.

9. How do you feel about the policies? Are you happy about them? Or are you happier without them?

Answer: School policies were made in order to manage the school, of course I am happy with a school
with great policies. It's just indicate that the school is an example of a good social community. If there
are policies, there are assurance that whoever is inside that school, they are made to be more
responsible and having good etiquette and values. I agree with the establishment of policies. It controls
the crime and unwanted accident inside the school by setting rules that will benefit everyone by
ensuring their safety.

10. The problem in school is malnutrition. Many kids are sleepy, malnourished and are underperforming.
This is true most especially for kids who walk to school 1 hour from home. They eat their baon upon
arrival in school so no more to eat for lunch. As a result, they are restless and inattentive and so poor
performance. You are the school head, presiding in a meeting, what policy will you formulate to address
the problem?
