1. ABOUT BABU BANARASI DAS UNIVERSITY, LUCKNOW


1.1. BBD University is established in the year 2010 by Act (no.25 of 2010) of State
Legislature of Uttar Pradesh & recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC),
New Delhi under Sections 22 and 2(f) of UGC Act 1956, and Government of India.
BBD University aims to transform the way people think by teaching them problem
solving, leadership and teamwork skills, and the value of commitment to quality,
ethical behavior, and respect for others. We at BBD University strive to educate
students in a way that transforms them into leaders who can make a difference in the
world. We aim to impart futuristic and high quality technical, management and
medical education to the young and talented Indian and international students.

2. ABOUT BBD UNIVERSITY MOOT COURT COMPETITION, 2020


2.1. Babu Banarasi Das University whole heartedly welcomes participants from
prestigious law schools across the country to the national moot court competition,
2020. The Competition endeavors at providing an opportunity to law students across
the country to expand their horizons of legal knowledge and interact with finest law
professionals, educators, activists. It provides a platform for students to compete in a
simulated proceeding. The participants shall be judged not only upon their theoretical
knowledge but also practical skills. Registration form for the competition will be
released soon and registrations for the same shall be processed thereafter.

3. STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION

The competition will be structured in the below-mentioned format:

 Preliminary Rounds
 Quarter Final Rounds
 Semi Final Rounds
 Final Round
4. LANGUAGE

The language of the Competition shall be English.

5. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
5.1. Universities/Law schools/Colleges/ Institutes, recognized by the Bar Council of India,
are eligible to participate in the National Moot Court Competition, 2020.
5.2. The students pursuing Three Year or Five Year Undergraduate LL.B. degree course
shall be eligible to participate in this competition.

6. TEAM COMPOSITION
6.1. The team composition for the competition shall be comprised of three (3) members;
two of them shall be designated as speaker and one researcher.
6.2. The researcher may be permitted to argue as a speaker in case of illness or any
unforeseen event but the permission of the moot court convener in such case shall be
mandatory.

7. DRESS CODE
7.1. Participants are required to adhere to the following dress code during the competition:
Ladies: White shirt, black trousers/skirts, black tie, black coat and black shoes.
Gentlemen: White Shirt, black trousers, black tie along with black coat and black
shoes.
7.2. Strict adherence to the dress code is solicited. Failure will result in disqualification.

8. SCOUTING
8.1. Teams shall not be allowed to observe the oral submissions of any other team.
Scouting is strictly prohibited.
