No OK

Make sure that primary & secondary breakers are isolated before
1 starting PM on relays. Locked & tagged, where applicable as per
YASREF permit procedure.

For starter circuits, apply personal grounding prior to external control

2 power source is connected where applicable. Personal grounding must
remain until completion of the major PM.

3 Verify relay settings are as per As built ETAP setting.

Check wire connections to relays, tighten all screws of the relay

4 terminal on terminal blocks and if necessary check current shorting
links on all secondary current terminal boards.

Inspect PT secondary wiring, fuses and fuse blocks. Verify PT

5
Secondary ground is correct.

Insure that all lockout relays associated with this relay have been test
7
as per their check sheet.

Test / Verify the active functions of the relays with secondary injection
8
current / voltage.

Verify timing with the actual curve. Note any major time difference to
9
actual curves.

10 Checks verify metering display reading on the relay.

11 Clear events recorder and verify date & timing if applicable.

12 Verify that all alarms are operable.

- The SEL-787 includes common harmonic blocking and harmonic restraint logic; you can select either one or both
of them. The combination of both logic functions provides optimum differential element operating speed and
security. Use the HRSTR = Y setting to enable the harmonic restraint logic and the HBLK = Y setting to enable the
harmonic blocking logic.
- Common harmonic blocking provides superior security against tripping on magnetizing inrush during
transformer energization, yet allows faster differential element tripping for an energized transformer fault.
Differential tripping through the harmonic restraint logic is slightly slower, but provides a dependable tripping
function when energizing a faulted transformer that might otherwise have the differential tripping element
blocked by common harmonic blocking logic.
