WORLD CUP 2018_Day 2

Does Soccer exist in the “Salahless” Egypt?

Without the 3rd best player in the world at the moment, Egypt faced a pretty decent team
of Uruguay with little hopes to get something out of the game.

Uruguay or Atlético de Madrid of national teams did it the hard way, thanks to a late
winner from Gimenez. Tavares’ man will surely finish with no mistakes, 9 out of 9 at the
top of the group and should start thinking about a way to make it to the Quarter-finals.

Egypt on the other hand, has to demonstrate more against the Hosts in a game where their
Talisman should be on the pitch whether he is 100 % fit or not. Losing points in that game
is synonymous of losing the chance to make it to the second round for the first time in a
fairly easy group.

The same old story, but!

Is it just me or we seem always to experience that so-called “déjà vu” every time the Atlas
Lions play?

You control the game, create chances, miss them as expected, and go out of ideas for 50
minutes to decide at the end that you’d rather leave it all if you can’t take it all.
BOUHADOUZ, the poor man was in the wrong position at the wrong time, executing a
routine header for a striker, but if only the direction was the other way around. He’ll get
past it for sure, but what’s far from being sure is whether our Lions can put that silly result
behind their backs and give us something to cheer for against the Big 2.

And oh, they were there, waiting and waiting and waiting. They got a goal from nowhere
and the top spot on the group with it. Team MELI will have to demonstrate more if they
want to preserve that place for long.

Why he is the best, episode 788...

Is it a fair result? Probably yes if it was (Spain 3 – 3 Ronaldo). But barring what Ronaldo
did, Spain took Portugal apart, it was a one-sided game and the Spaniards have only
themselves to blame for not putting that game to bed during the masterpiece they showed
in the 2nd half.

Not only that, but when your rival has the best player in the world, the last scenes of the
game were always going to happen as long as the margin-lead is reachable. But, let’s give
that man what he deserves because it seems to me that he is the only player who can
strike a hat-trick against one of the favourites to win the tournament and still get a lot of
sticks for that. Just give it a break, Ronaldo is a phenomenon, you keep criticizing him and
he gets better. Is it not the moment to recognize his legitimate status amongst the best in
the history of the Game? Because other than doing that, this group is already done, and
missing out of the round of 16 for those 2 teams will be unacceptable.
