Spanish conjugation are divided into three main regular patterns and then those that sometimes misbehave

and play up.

Every verb whose infinitive end in -ar is called a 1st conjugation verb, those that end in -er 2nd conjugation verb and those in -ir 3rd
conjugation verb.

For those irregular verbs, you must remember that even though they are irregular they still follow the main pattern on the whole.
Nosotros and vosotros never have an irregular conjugation (there might be one or two exceptions)

So let’s see the three main regular patterns for the present tense (it can be translated into English into Present simple and present
continuous and even a future will). Shall we?

Primera conjugación. Segunda conjugación Tercera conjugación

Amar (to love) Beber (to drink) Vivir (live, to experience)

(Yo) amo O
(tú) amas AS (Yo) bebo O (Yo) vivo O
(él, ella) ama A (tú) bebes ES (tú) vives ES
(nosotros) amamos AMOS (él, ella) bebe E (él, ella) vive E
(vosotros) amáis AIS (nosotros) bebemos EMOS (nosotros) vivimos IMOS
(ellos) aman AN (vosotros) bebéis ÉIS (vosotros) vivís ÍS
(ellos) beben EN (ellos) viven EN

We can see that we have to remove the infinitive ending “ar” “er” and “ir” and add the different suffixes to convey and conjugated
verb meaning. We can also see the the use of the personal pronoun is option, unlike in English since the verb already has this vital
information.

Now let’s see ….
