Week 2.

06/04/20-10/04/20 ( and perhaps into next week too, for some ongoing work.)

Reiligiún:
 Toisc gur Seachtain Cásca atá ann, táim ag cur béim ar ár gcreideamh. Seans, that you
miss saying together, ár bPaidreacha gach maidin. So, mar sin, céard faoi paidreacha a rá le
chéile le do chlann sa bhaile? Is feidir leat áit deas sa teach a roghnu, agus áltóir/ Sacred
Space a dhéanamh. Ta ort roinnt rudaí a lorg anois.
 Beidh Crois uait, blathanna I bproca, íomhánna de Mhuire, d’ Íosa, agus An Bíobla. If you
don’t have any statues, draw pictures, and make a Cross, and devise a way so that they
stand upright… that’s both Art and science covered too! Pick blathanna sa gháirdín. Even
dandelines and daisies are go h-álainn. Cuimhnigh na paidreacha a dheirimid gach lá. You
might perhaps have to teach them to your family and that is a lovely idea. Maybe they might
have a new prayer to teach you too.

(Another experiment.)
 Cuir roinnt blathanna I bpróca le h-uisce agus roinnt I bpróca gan uisce agus roinnt I pbroca
le bainne/ 7up etc. Cén blathanna a mhaireann níos faide.) Why do you think the results
are , as they are?
 Research carefully how to make dandeline tea/ lemonade. You may not have enough
dandelines growing to try it out yet, but, in another few weeks, this might prove a most
enjoyable exercise!!! Ive never tasted either, so I cant guarantee that the results will be
delicious! Make sure to wash the dandelines first and , of course, protect your hands, as
ever.

 If you are interested, mass from Donegal is broadcast daily by RTE on RTE news now
Channel. Alternatively you can watch mass from Tullamore on the parish webcam at 10:00
daily.
 As Sunday is Palm Sunday, familiarise yourself with the Bible Story about Jesus riding
into Jerusalem and the crowds of people delighted to see him. Draw a picture of the
occasion.
 Where do Palm trees grow naturally and what do they look like?
 How many other trees can you list, as Bearla agus as Gaeilge? What purpose does each part
of the tree have- roots, trunk, branches, leaves and fruit?
 Study a tree growing in your garden and try to sketch it, as accurately as you can. Can you
identify what type of tree it is? Be creative now, and write 5 interesting things you could do
with a tree!

Eolaíocht.
1. See above experiments.
2. As it is now April, agus chuaigh na cloganna ar aghaidh an tseachtain seo chaite, cén t-am a
eirionn an ghrian agus a luíonn sí gach lá? Cé mhéad uaireanta solais atá ann anois? An
mbeidh aon athrú ar sin, an tseachtain seo chugainn? Déan seiceáil laethiúil agus coinnigh na
torthaí. So, each day, check out the times for sun rise and sun set and work out how many
hours and minutes of light there are daily. You can check this info on your parents phone, if
permitted. Ask politely! Keep a daily record and compare day lengths over the course of a
week/ fortnight.
3. I’d like you also to keep a daily account of the weather, like we had started in March. Draw
out a sheet like the one I gave you for March. Each day, fill in the temperature,( again ask
the parents to check on the phone, ), go outdoors to check the wind direction- you’ll need to
work out where N, S, E and West are. How will you work this out? We did discuss this, so
think about it. Where does the sun rise in relation to your house? That is, more or less, East.
Work out the other directions yourself.
4. Based on the above, and hopefully the wearther will still be nice next week, I’d like you to
research how to make a Sundial to tell the time. You will need some very straightforward
materials to make a basic Sundial, but, “Fancy” it up. ( However, don’t have it so fancy that
you cannot ascertain the time on it!) Déan gleoite é. Maisigh é chomh maith! Is feidir libh iad
a thógáil ar scoil nuair a thagaimid ar ais to check out cé a rinne an- iarracht.
5. If, on the other hand, the weather turns nasty, make a Rain Gauge. All you need here is….. I
could tell you but I won’t! Very little equipment needed and everything you need is already
in your house.
Research it. Easy peasy!!

Tíreolaíocht:
We should be seeing allsorts of results in the garden by now, if we had planted our seeds from Tidy
Schools. Sadly, ní raibh seans againn, é sin a dheanamh. Mar sin, taim ag cur ag obair sa ghairdin sibh
anois.

1. Bailigh na siolta a itheann sibh as úlla, oráiste, mealbhacáin etc. Bailigh ithir on ngáirdín agus
isteach i gcartún bhainne a ghearr duine fásta duit. ( Ask an adult to cut the clean ,dry milk
carton about 8cm high and to puncture a few holes in the base of the carton, for drainage. Ná
cuir gach síol sa chártún chéanna!
2. Scríobh cuntas agus dean pictiur de gach rud a chuireann sibh ag fás agus dean cinnte an data a
scríobh. Coinnigh súil air. B’fheidir go bhfásfaidh rud eigin!!!

Ná dean dearmad conas an triail seo a scriobh I gceart…(1. Uait: 2.Modh: 3.Cad a tharlódh dár
liom:4. Toradh. 5.Cuir lipéid ar an bpictiur freisin.)

Ealaín:
1. Ceard eile seachas, Cárta Cásca?! Usáid do shamhlaíocht!
2. Sicín Cásca, déanta le ubh briste in aice leis, is feidir leat fíor chraiceann o ubh ite a usáid.
Collect real egg shells to complete this task! Break them up into píosaí beaga and glue them
to create a nice egg collage.
3. Nead éin, mar a rinne na múinteoir libh ar an RTE Hub ar an Aoine, an 3ú Aibreáin. Beidh
péint, gliú , caonach- le fail ag fás sa gháirdín, cipíní agus páipear nuachta uait.
4. Portráid a dhéanamh de na daoine I do chlann. Pioc Model éagsúl gach lá go dtí go bhfuil an
clann ar fad déanta agat.
If nobody is willing to pose for you, draw the portait of somebody you can copy from a
magazine. When you are criochnaithe ag tarraingt, dean frámaí deasa timpeall ar na pictiúrí
agus oscail your Art Exhibition.

Gaeilge.
Tasc alainn duit anois!

Scriobh nóta/ litir chugam ag rá liom conas atá tu agus ag insint do nuacht chugam. Ba bhreá liom
cloisteáil uait!!

Sin é a pháistí.

Beir bua agus beannachtaí na Cásca oraibh go léir!
