Revelation 1: 4-8, 12-18

Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who
was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits
who are before His throne,
And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first
born from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the
earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our
sins in His own blood,
And has made us kings and priests to His God and
Father to Him be glory and dominion forever and
ever. Amen.

Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will

see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the
tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even
so, Amen.

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and

the End, says the Lord, “who is and who was and who
is to come, the Almighty.”

…and having turned I saw seven golden lampstands,

And in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the
Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet
and girded about the chest with a golden band.
His head and hair were white like wool, as white as
snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a
furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;
2
He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His
mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His
countenance was like the sun shining in its strength.
And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But
He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not
be afraid; I am the First and the Last.
I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am
alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of
Hades and of Death.

Our Heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus, reveals Himself in

all His glorious resurrected state to His faithful
disciple and friend, John. John spent three and a half
years in close companionship with Jesus as part of the
inner circle. It was John, who laid his head upon
Jesus’ chest at the last supper. He even stood at the
foot of the cross when all the other disciples deserted
the Lord. Now, we find John fallen on his face as
though dead! Jesus is glorious! Awesome! He is
worthy of all our worship!
It is our Bridegroom who will lead us behind the veil
into the Throne room. He prepared the way for us to
enter the Most Holy of Holies, right into the very
Throne Room of God. Matthew 26: 50-54 relates the
story of what was experienced at the death of our
Savior:
And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and
yielded up His spirit.
Then behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two
from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the
rocks were split,

  3
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the
saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
And coming out of the graves after His resurrection,
they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
So when the centurion and those with him, who were
guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that
had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this
was the Son of God!”

These things were done to signify that we now have

access to the Father and to verify the reality of the
resurrection from the dead. The resurrection from the
dead was a commonly held belief and hope of the
Jews, but never had such a thing happened before in
that the very graves were opened and those who had
been interred came out and testified of this reality!

So, it is to our glorious Bridegroom, Jesus, that I

dedicate this book and to His Bride that hungers for
more of Him! She longs to see Him, hear His voice
and follow after Him. In the pursuit of the One she
loves, the Bride finds herself drawn deeper into the
things of the Spirit. Now, she will experience the
Manifest Presence of God and come to know her
Bridegroom and be imprinted with His likeness upon
her very being.

Seven Lamps of Fire

Revelation 1: 12, 13
…And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
And in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the
Son of Man,

Revelation 4:5
And from the throne preceded lightnings, thunderings,
and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before
the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

We have been pursuing understanding of the Seven

Spirits of God in the previous two books I’ve written:
6
7 Spirits Before the Throne and the Spirit of Might;
Mantle of the Miraculous. The Seven Spirits are
referred to in Isaiah 11:2:

The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,

The Spirit of wisdom and (Spirit of) understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and (Spirit of) might,
The Spirit of knowledge and (Spirit) of the fear of the
Lord.

All seven of these seven Spirits rested upon Jesus

fully. He manifested and demonstrated the fullness of
the Holy Spirit during His ministry. (John 3: 30-35)

Acts 2:1-4, reveals to us the outpouring of the Holy

Spirit on the Day of Pentecost.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Lord. This is
symbolized by the center or Servant Lamp on the
Temple Menorah. It is in this center lamp that the oil
is poured and distributed throughout the other three
branches of the Menorah. These branches actually are
paired and relate to the three pairs of Spirits seen in
Isaiah 11:2.

In review, the first set of pairs is the Spirit of Wisdom

and the Spirit of Understanding. These two flow
together and release the Spirit of Revelation.
(Please refer back to the teaching in the first two books
in “The Menorah Series” for a more complete
understanding of this.)
When the Spirit of Revelation mantles our lives and
releases the fire and zeal of God, Spiritual insight and
  7
understanding begin to flow. This is when the Gifts of
the Spirit of the word of wisdom, word of knowledge
and discerning of spirits are in operation
(I Corinthians 12: 4-11). The corresponding Fruits of
the Spirit will be manifested with the Gifts of the Spirit
with each of the pairs of the 7 Spirits.

The next pair is the Spirit of Counsel and the Spirit of

Might. This pair of the 7 Spirits operate together to
release the Power of God into a situation and bring the
miraculous. The power gifts of the Gifts of the Spirit
operate with these two. They are faith, gifts of healing
and miracles (I Corinthians 12: 4-11) When this pair of
the 7 Spirits work together the Spirit of Glory is
manifested and the weighty Presence of God is there.

When the Power of God is present the works of the

enemy are confronted and defeated. The sick are
healed, demons are cast out, the blind see, the deaf
hear and the maimed are made whole. Jesus is
glorified!

Now, we come to the last pair in the 7 Spirit Menorah.

They are the Spirit of the Knowledge of the Lord and
the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. We will take a
closer look at these two and discover that they are
found fully manifested in the Throne Room in the very
Presence of God. It is here that we will proceed
behind the Veil. We may go here because our
Bridegroom has made the way for us through His shed
blood. There is no other way into God’s Presence
apart from the Blood. Sinful man cannot stand in the
8
presence of a Holy God. There is no other way, but by
the precious Blood of Jesus! We surely will spend all
eternity worshipping Him for His Blood that paid the
price for our sin and gained us access once again into
the very presence of God.

Just as we saw that the Word of God is accurate in

every detail, the Spirit of Wisdom comes before the
Spirit of Understanding as a word of knowledge is
dangerous without wisdom. You could expose
someone by your knowledge of a situation, but without
wisdom, you will not know how to handle the
information you are receiving. So too, the Spirit of
Might must flow after and with the Spirit of Counsel to
know when and how to release the Power of God into
a situation.

The Word of God shows us that there is a proper order

and balance to the things of God. We see that we must
have an experiential knowledge of the LORD before
we can have a true healthy Fear of the LORD. We
cannot really reverence someone if we do not
personally know him. The same is true of our
relationship with God Almighty.

We have been at times; I am afraid, disrespectful of

our Creator because we do not adequately know Him.
The end purpose of the redemption that we have
received through Jesus is that we may know Him.
Experientially know Him! Tangibly know Him! Love
Him! Deeper and Deeper for all eternity! (Philippians
3: 8-10)
  9
When we are truly in the Presence of the Living God,
we learn humility. He is God and we are not. It is
here that we learn the Protocols of Heaven. When we
experientially know Him, not just know about Him, we
respect and reverence Him. We love and honor Him.
He fills our hearts with holy awe. We want to please
Him. He is God, all powerful!

We should fear Him. He also loves us and gave His

very Son for us, so we love Him in return. It is an
interesting balance in the Spirit. We know Him and
now understand that He is worthy of our worship and
respect. He is big! He is Al-Mighty! There is no
power that is not from Him. He is the Creator. He is
the Center of all existence. He is the life and the
source of all creation.

We are totally dependent upon Him. And yet, He

loves us? How can we comprehend such a Being?
We are drawn to Him. We desire Him. We need Him.
If we come to truly know Him, we love Him! He is
wonderful!

The Spirit of the Knowledge of the LORD comes from

intimacy with Him. We can have it no other way. We
must consistently and daily spend time with the
Creator of the Universe. We must spend time in the
Word and in prayer. It is a life style commitment. Our
own soul will scream loudly to satisfy our personal
wants and desires. The cares and pull of the world will
try to drown out the voice of the Spirit drawing us
aside. We must choose. It is impossible to truly know
10
someone unless we spend time with them. We can
study reports about another person, but not until we
spend large amounts of quality time with them will we
ever truly know them. So, it is with the One Who
created us for Himself. He loves us and desires that
we might know Him and love Him, too!

The Temple Priests tended the Menorah morning and

night. They did not neglect their duties to allow the oil
to run out. There was a continuous flow of oil through
the branches of the Menorah. The light was to always
burn illuminating the Holy Place. There is a lesson
here for us. If we do not want to be like the 5 foolish
virgins in Matthew 25, we must attend to refreshing
ourselves with the Holy Spirit morning and night.

In the Holy Place, we find the Table of Showbread,

which represents the Word of God, the Menorah which
represents the Holy Spirit and the Altar of Incense
which represents our prayers which arise before the
Lord. These were attended to daily. The Priests were
consecrated to take care of them continuously.

I Peter 2: 4-5 tells us, “Coming to Him as to a living

stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and
precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up
a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up
spiritual scarifies acceptable to God through Jesus
Christ.

  11
Herein, is the secret to entering in behind the veil to
the Holy of Holies. It is in the continuing choice of
daily offering up the spiritual sacrifices of spending
time reading and meditating on the Word of God,
allowing the Holy Spirit to illuminate our mind and
lifting up prayer morning and night.

As we are faithful to these spiritual disciplines, we will

begin to see Him more clearly. We will be more
sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. He will
begin to reveal His mysteries to us as spoken of in the
Word of God.

In Isaiah 11:2, the Hebrew word for knowledge

translated in Spirit of the Knowledge of the Lord is
de’ah (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance #1844). It is
from the root word ‘adah (Strong’s #3045). It carries
the idea of to know (to ascertain by seeing!) This
word tells us that this kind of knowing is experiential.
It is relational. Adam and Eve knew God personally.
He visited them every day. They didn’t have
intellectual head knowledge about God because they
read about Him, they experienced His actual Presence
with them daily! This is what the Lord desires to have
with us. We choose. Do we actually spend time with
Him consistently daily? Or has it simply become a
good idea? If we do not choose to spend time with
Him, we will not know Him. We simply will know
about Him, but the Lord desires intimacy with us.

It is in these intimate moments with the Lord of Glory,

our Creator God, that we come to truly know Him. It
12
is here that we are changed into His likeness. It is here
that we come to deeply love Him, trust Him and know
Him.

When we truly know Him, we now will naturally flow

into the Spirit of the Fear of the LORD. We will
respect Him, honor Him and reverence Him for who
He is. We will learn the Protocols of Heaven. He is a
Holy God. He is the King of all Creation. He is
Lord!!! He is all powerful. He should be respected
and feared. Lucifer did not and was removed from his
high position in heaven. Sin and self cannot live in
His Presence.

Intimacy and relationship with Him is only for those

who love and honor Him. We choose to humble
ourselves and come into His Presence. Nothing is
more important than knowing Him and honoring Him
for who He truly is. In His Presence is fullness of joy
and life! (Psalm 16: 11)

The Spirit of the Fear of the LORD! Do we wonder

what that looks like? Fear is translated from the
Hebrew word yir’a (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance
#3374). It means fear, reverence and piety. It is from
the root word yare (Strong’s #3372), meaning to be
afraid, be frightened; to revere, respect.

To expand your understanding of the word fear, look

up this definition in the Strong’s Exhaustive
Concordance. It is a powerful word. Our God is a
Holy God and deserves our respect and reverence.
  13
His enemies should fear Him! He is not some weak,
powerless god. He does not always immediately bring
judgment on people when they transgress His Word,
but extends mercy that they may be saved. But know
this; there will be a day of judgment for the wicked
and ungodly. His enemies will know that He is the
Almighty God and Judge of all.

For those who love, respect and honor Him, the fact
that He is the Almighty is comforting. We are secure
in His love and protection. The enemy of our lives
does not have the final say regarding anything that
touches us. Our God is powerful, merciful and kind to
His children. He watches over us to deliver us. He is
worthy of our trust. If something is happening that
seems wrong, we can turn our faith and prayers to
Him. We know that He never allows anything in our
lives that He does not see the end from the beginning.
Many things that have been painful have a purpose for
our good. He is God! He loves us! He never does or
allows something to just hurt us!

What happened to Jesus was injustice. But it brought

about our salvation and redemption. Hebrews 12: 2
says, “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of
our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat
down at the right hand of the throne of God”. That
joy was our salvation and redemption! He counted us
worth it all.

14
Surely such a God is truly worthy of our reverence and
honor! He alone deserves all of our worship. This is
the climax of being mantled and clothed in the 7
Spirits. They infill us with the Spirit of the Lord,
reveal to us Jesus (Ephesians 1: 17), empower and
equip us to do the work of the ministry and finally
bring us into the Throne Room to behold Him! Glory
to God, may we fully enter into this relationship with
Him!

When the Spirit of the Knowledge of the Lord and the

Spirit of the Fear of the Lord flow and work together;
they release the Spirit of Holiness. When the Spirit of
Holiness is present, sinners cry out for forgiveness and
believers bow low in worship.

  15
Hebrew Year Date 5775

The Hebrew calendar year runs from Rosh ha Shanna

to Rosh ha Shanna. This falls between September and
October on the Gregorian calendar which we use.
Since the Biblical calendar uses a lunar month it must
add an extra month every 19 years to keep the Feast
Days falling in their proper season.

The Jews also use the Hebrew Alphabet as numbers

for their year dates. Each Hebrew letter not only has a
number associated with it, it has its own meaning.
Originally, Hebrew was written as a pictogram. Each
letter was drawn to represent the thing or concept it
signified.

The concepts that they represent can carry more than

one meaning. This is a key reason why prophetic
ministries will state that the year is something different
from other ministries. Each prophetic voice will
emphasize some aspect of the meaning of the Hebrew
letter. God may well be highlighting something
unique to each minister.

As I have made my study of the 7 Spirits over the last

several years, I have seen the Lord coordinate the
Hebrew year date with the meaning of the pairs of
branches on the Temple Menorah.

16
This year is 5775. We will first look at the
interpretation of these numbers using E.W. Bullinger’s
text, Number in Scripture.

The 5 is the number of Grace.

7 is the number of completion.

We next notice that these numbers are doubled.

According to Joseph, when he interpreted Pharaoh’s
dream, if something is doubled it is established by God
and will shortly come to pass. (Genesis 41: 32)

These pairs of numbers can rightly be read: Grace

Completed and Completed Grace. That tells us God’s
redemptive plan of grace has been completed. Jesus
cried from the Cross “It is finished!” (John 19: 30)

All things considered this makes this year very

interesting. What would the Lord have us meditate
on? Does He not want us to see that His death on the
Cross is a finished work appropriating grace and
redemption for us? May we not receive it by faith as
our own?

I would also suggest that there truly is a moment in

time when the Age of Grace or Church Age is
completed and the Lord returns for His own. (I
Corinthians 15: 50-54 and I Thessalonians 4: 13-18)
Are we living in the final moments of the closing of
the Church Age?

  17
We are admonished as we see these things
approaching to look up for our redemption draws near.
(Luke 21: 28) God wants us to have an expectation of
His imminent return. This is a good year to prepare
our hearts to see our Heavenly Bridegroom.

Now we need to take a look at the Hebrew letters for

this year. We have been in the decade of the Ayin of
God starting at Rosh ha Shanna 5770 or 2009. The
Hebrew letter for 70 is the Ayin. It is where we get
our word “eye.” We even retain the original sound of
Ay in our word “eye.” The pictogram of the Ayin was
drawn to look like an eye. In the block form of the
Hebrew letters Ayin is drawn in such a way as to
remind us of the corner of an eye with its pupil.

This decade speaks of the release of revelation from

Heaven, believers are given eyes to see and God
specifically is watching over this decade. He misses
nothing.

Every year has had spiritual significance. Nothing is

happening by chance:

5771 or Rosh ha Shanna 2010 spoke of the Eye of

God as Aleph is the first letter and symbolizes God.

5772 or Rosh ha Shanna 2011 reveals God’s eye is on

the house or church. It is the number 2 symbolizing a
man and his wife. This concept leads to multiplication
or division. God is watching over the church. Who
will stand with Him?

18
5773 or Rosh ha Shanna 2012 was the year of the
Redeemer choosing His Bride. He gave gifts to her as
is seen in the symbol of the camel in the Hebrew letter
3. The Go’el is the Kinsman Redeemer. G is the
sound of this letter. Genesis 24 tells the story of
Abraham’s servant who took 10 camels loaded with
gifts to give to Rebekah and her family. His purpose
was to bring her home as a bride for Isaac. In this year
the Spirit of Revelation was released to allow the
Bride to know her Bridegroom. (Ephesians 1: 17-19)

5774 or Rosh ha Shanna 2013 running through 2014,

the year of the Open Door! The Lord released and
increased opportunity to carry the Gospel to the ends
of the earth. The Spirit of Might was given to mantle
those God called to use in signs, wonders and
miracles! The Power of God was released to wage
warfare in the Name of Jesus and set the captives free.

So, each year has had spiritual significance as God’s

plan for the ages has been unfolding.

We are given two Scripture to give us encouragement

as we walk through this Season of the Ayin of God:

Psalm 32: 8
I will instruct you and teach in the way you should go:
I will guide you with my eye.
Psalm 33: 118
Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him
on those who hope in His mercy,

  19
Now we have come to 5775, which began last fall on
Rosh ha Shanna 2014. It will run until next fall and
end on the evening of September 13, 2015.

Of great significance regarding the year 5775, is that it

is a Shemitah year. The Shemitah year comes every
7th year. It is the year the Jews were to let their fields,
trees and vineyards lie fallow. The Lord had promised
to provide more than they needed in the previous year
to carry them through the next year. It was a time of
obedience, trust and rest. The land was to rest and the
people were to rest.

We are now in the year of Ayin Hey! The year of the

Breath of God, His Holiness!

20
Breath of the Holies

To be caught up into His Presence! To quiet our souls

in order to feel and experience His very Breath upon
us! To know that level of rest and peace as a newborn
baby feels sleeping on his mother’s breast. Totally
secure! Totally safe!

Still ourselves to hear Him, see Him, sense His

Presence! He is here all around us. This is the place
we come to experience the Spirit of the Knowledge of
the Lord. It is a gift from God, but can we prepare our
hearts to receive this experience?

We cannot experience Him when we come bursting

into the Throne Room with our list of needs and
requests, rattling them off and then abruptly turning
around and leaving.

We cannot experience Him when we are carrying a

load of unconfessed sin and defilement. That must be
laid down in the Outer Court and washed away with
the Blood of the Lamb of God.

We cannot come before Him and experience His

Presence when we are angry and bitter towards others.
He is love! Hate, offense and unrighteous judgment
cannot dwell with Him. That must be taken care of in
the Holy Place as we meditate on His Word and let the
Holy Spirit illuminate our souls so we might see what

  21
is there that is contrary to His Nature. Then we can
offer up Holy Prayers on the Altar of Incense.

Oh, the Holy Place is Holy! We come there to

experience Him. He becomes our focus. Now we can
come to know Him, see Him, hear Him and experience
the One who is God.

This is the place of spirit to Spirit communication. We

behold Him! We adore Him! He consumes our hearts
with passionate love! It is where we cry, “More
Lord!” We become transformed by His Presence.

This is the year of experiencing His Breath upon us!

Truly, more Lord!

The Apostle John experienced the heart beat and

breath of His Lord while he laid his head upon the
breast of Jesus! What a glorious moment in His life!
(John 13:23) This is the same John who stayed at the
foot of the cross when they crucified Jesus. Did this
closeness of relationship with the Lord give him a
deeper bonding with Jesus?

The Jewish Historical writings tell us that the veil that

separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy Place
would move with the sound of the Breath of God! Our
God is a Living God! Breath is the Hebrew word
Ruach. It is the same word for Spirit. At times, we
can feel the weighty heavy Presence of God. At times
we can also smell His fragrance and feel His Breath
upon us. Those are the still quiet moments we long for
and desire with our whole heart. God is real! He is
22
alive! He is not a figment of our imaginations. He is
fully capable of revealing Himself to us. Have we
prepared ourselves to experience Him?

The year 5775 is the year of the Ayin Hey! It is the

year of the Revelation of the Breath of God. Hey is
the 5th letter in the Hebrew Alpha-bet. Not only does 5
stand for grace, but also for breath. It is written with
two straight lines and one on top as a lid. But there is
a gap between the left standing line and the top. That
gap is the place the breath comes in, a small window if
you will. The sound of this letter is literally hey! It
originally was written to look like a man standing with
his arms lifted up. We can just see him shouting “hey”
to get your attention. It is the breath sound of h or ha.
Surely, it is the grace of God to have the Breath of His
Spirit upon our lives.

This picture of the letter hey reminds me of someone

underneath a Talith or Jewish prayer shawl. They are
swaying back and forth with the shawl closed before
their face as though shutting a door. Then
occasionally you see them open a little bit of the shawl
so they can lift their faces towards heaven and
experience the Breath of Heaven come down upon
them.

The Talith symbolizes the mantle of the Spirit of

Holiness. Those who enter into the private place of
prayer and worship begin to be clothed with a tangible
sense of holiness about them. It is in this place of
resting in the Presence of God that we are transformed.

  23
To carry the mantles of God on our lives require a
lifestyle of daily pursuing the Lord in the Word, in the
Spirit, worship and abiding in His Presence and in holy
conduct towards others. We don’t get it in a prayer
line, although that can activate it and start us on our
path. Someone can’t give us what it took them a life
time to receive and cultivate. We can learn from those
who walk in a mature and holy life, but we must
pursue God for ourselves and consistently walk in that
place. We either choose to live in the Presence of the
Lord and feel His Breath upon us or we choose to not
pursue intimacy with Him. It is a personal walk and a
personal choice.

24
Blast of the Nostrils of God
Have you ever experience a Blast from the Nostrils of
God? Well, I did!

At the time of this experience, I did not know that

there were Scriptural references to this. Neither did I
understand the ramifications to those of us who
experienced this manifestation.

A number of years ago, I was in a meeting in

Wyoming. A prophetic woman of God was
ministering. She was small statured pretty and blond,
and very powerful in the Spirit. I have seen her simply
blow from a few feet away on a large tall Pastor and
see him fly across the room. She had not laid a finger
on him, but God touched him and changed his life.

One evening, I stood in the prayer line after she had

ministered. The next thing I knew I was on the floor
with a number of other people. I saw an opening in
the ceiling above where she was ministering. Out of
this portal came a snort of breath and what looked like
frost. It fell all around us and tinkled like falling glass.
It was cold. All I knew in my spirit was that we
experienced a blast from the Nostrils of God. I asked
the person lying next to me if he had seen it, too. Yes,
he had!

For those of us who were present in that meeting, there

began a journey over the next several years of a time
of testing, purging and deep refining by God. I would
not have knowingly volunteered for what any of us
  25
walked through in those next years. However, I am
glad for all that the Lord has done in my life through it
all! What I did not know then was this was one
manifestation of the Spirit of Holiness.

In Exodus 15, we read the song of Moses. Verse 8

says, “And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters
were gathered together;” (see also 2 Samuel 22: 16,
Job 4: 9, Psalm 18:15)

The Hebrew word for nostrils is af, (Strong’s

Exhaustive Concordance #639). It means nose or
nostril, hot of face signifying anger, long of nose
signifying patience and high of nose signifying
arrogance. Anger, wrath, patience and pride!

What I understand is that in God’s holiness He will

deal with us to refine the nature and character of His
Son Jesus into the very fabric of our lives. My counsel
is this, if you experience the blast of God through His
Nostrils, hit the ground and repent and be obedient to
the leading of the Holy Spirit! Remember, the
Egyptians died at the Red Sea the day He blasted
through His Nostrils at them.

He has been very long suffering and faithful to

perform His will for us. Thank you, Lord! God is
faithful to deal with His children with loving kindness
and mercy! He is also El Rachum, the God of
Compassion! The Hey is 5 the number for grace. He
deals with us in mercy even when He is testing and
refining our lives because of His great love which He
poured out to us in Jesus.
26
Another amazing experience I had with the Spirit of
Holiness came in Toronto during an extended worship
service. We had been singing songs about His
Holiness. Then with the final song, we sang the old
hymn, Holy, Holy, Holy by Martin Luther! As we sung
it over and over again, far off in the distance I heard a
mighty rushing wind. It sounded similar to a roar of a
freight train. I knew that it was the Spirit of Holiness.
I felt and heard it coming closer and closer. As it
entered the room, I gathered my Talith over my head
and bowed low. The Fear of the Lord came upon me.
I felt it move over me and cover the entire room. It
was powerful encounter with God.

God is real! He surely is able to manifest His Presence

to us.

His Word to us is found in I Peter 1: 13-16

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and
rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be
brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as
obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the
former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who
called you is holy, you also be holy in all your
conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am
holy.”

  27
Mantled with Holiness
What is holiness and can we be mantled with it?

Exodus 15:11, the Song of Moses:
Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
Fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Holiness is from the Hebrew word, qodesh (Strong’s

Exhaustive Concordance #6844) holy or sacred thing
or place, set apart as dedicated to God, example the
Holy of Holies set apart exclusively for the Presence
of God. Hallowed, dedicated, consecrated, holy
dwelling and saints.

From this word definition and the command of God in

I Peter 3: 13-19 it is apparent that we can be holy,
consecrated and set apart for God. He desires it and
commands it!

Romans 1: 3-4,
Concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was
born of the seed of David according to the flesh, and
declared to be the Son of God with power according to
the Spirit of Holiness by the resurrection from the
dead.

I Thessalonians 3: 13,
So that He may establish your hearts blameless in
holiness before our God and Father at the coming of
our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
28
In these two verses the Greek word for holiness is
hagiosune (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance # 42).
Holiness is the process, quality, and condition of a
holy disposition and quality of holiness in personal
conduct. It is the principle that separates the believer
from the world. Hagiosune consecrates us to God’s
service both in soul and in body, finding fulfillment in
moral dedication and a life committed to purity. It
causes every component of our character to be able to
withstand God’s inspection and meet with His
approval.

To be mantled with one of the Spirits of God means

we have a life consecrated and devoted to God.
Carrying a mantle speaks of more than a casual
experience with spiritual things. It is a life
commitment to walk in and obediently exercise the
authority and responsibilities associated with that
mantle! It was no light thing to be Elijah the Prophet!
Mantles are weighty and take consecrated souls to
carry them.

To maintain and carry a mantle requires humility and

deliberately choosing to be a servant leader honoring
the call of God on our lives, walking in love and
choosing to operate in kindness toward those we are
called to minister to.

Lucifer was created to be a leader in the Throne Room

of heaven, but he chose to exalt himself above the
Throne of God. (Isaiah 14: 12-15) Because of his
pride and arrogance, his consequence was to be thrust
  29
out of heaven from this high position. Eventually his
final abode will be in the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:
1-3)

Humility coupled with a consecrated life sustains the

man or woman of God carrying the mantle of authority
given by the Lord. These things do not happen by
chance or ambitious fantasies. They come from
decisions made to serve God with a pure heart
regardless of the position or station we find ourselves
in.

I would encourage the study of the life of Daniel. He

is a renowned prophet. He experienced days of
prominence and days of hiddenness. In whatever
situation he found himself, he served the Lord wholly
committed and consecrated to carry out the assignment
given to him. There is great encouragement to be
found from his life and service as a prophet.

True authority means responsibility. Authority is not

title or position, but an opportunity to serve God and
others. God sees our hearts. He alone knows what we
have been created to do. Our response is to say “Yes,
Lord!”

Honoring God and others is also the hallmark of one

who carries a mantle. It’s all about Him and them.
We are privileged to serve and minister. Honor has
almost become a forgotten character trait in our
present culture. Men and women of God are called to
return and restore a culture of honor as we look toward
the coming of our Lord.
30
It is a high calling to serve our Lord. There are many
responsibilities. It is no light thing to be called by
Him. May we be found worthy at His coming!

  31
Imprinted by the Spirit of Holiness
Ephesians 1: 3-14
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of
the world, that we should be holy and without blame
before Him in love,
Having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus
Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of
His will,
To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He
made us accepted in the beloved.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His
grace
Which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom
and prudence,
Having made known to us the mystery of His will,
according to His good pleasure which He purposed in
Himself,
That in the dispensation of the fullness of times He
might gather together in one all things in Christ, both
which are in heaven and which are on earth---in Him.
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being
predestined according to the purpose of Him who
works all things according to the counsel of His will,
That we who first trusted in Christ should be to the
praise of His glory.
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of
truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also,
32
having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit
of promise,
Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the
redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise
of His glory.

Note: He chose us before the foundation of the

world that we should be holy and without blame
before Him in love! How could that possibly happen?

This portion of Scripture with I Peter 1: 3-19, where

we are commanded “Be ye holy!” coupled with I
Thessalonians 3: 13 which admonishes us “establish
your hearts blameless in holiness” should cause fear
and trembling! We see the commands and the
admonition, but can we obey them and fulfill them?

Yes! What God has required of us, He provides the

way to accomplish. What many in the Church today
have chosen to teach is a perversion of grace. They
would have us believe that we can sin freely and break
the Commandments of God because of the atonement
of the Blood of Jesus. But that is not the Word of the
Lord!

I John 1:9 reads,

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.”

Confession leads to forgiveness and cleansing. The

Old Testament blood sacrifices only covered sin. The
Blood of Jesus cleanses and removes the sin. We are
  33
not to continue in that which the Lord paid such a high
price to remove.

Romans 6: 1, 2 also tells us,

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin
that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we
who died to sin live any longer in it?”

The Blood of Jesus was not shed that we could

continue in the practice of sin and bondage. He
desired that we should be in the likeness and image of
Himself as was His intent in His original creation of
Adam in the Garden.

Romans 8: 29, 30 instructs us:

“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be
conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be
the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom
He predestined, these He also called; whom He called,
these He also justified; and whom He justified these
He also glorified.”

Is it reasonable to assume that those who are to be

conformed to the image of Jesus will continue to
practice sin? No, God forbid! We are to be true
representatives of our Lord. He is holy and commands
us to be holy!

How are we to actually obey that command?

It is evident to anyone who has tried to do the “right

thing” that discipline alone does not make you holy!
We try so hard to do those things we know will help us
34
to be better in our Christian walk. In the end we find,
that we still too often choose to do the wrong things!
(Romans 6 & 7)

Again, discipline alone will not make you holy! I am

not saying to abandon or forsake godly disciplines, but
know they alone will not make you holy.

However, loss of desire for self-discipline will

diminish our desire in experiencing intimacy with the
Bridegroom. There is a place for godly discipline, but
it is not the whole answer to walking in holiness.

Holiness comes as a result of being close to the One

who is holy!

There is a spiritual and natural principle that few

understand when they are young. This secret is of
such importance that it should be shouted from every
pulpit and family home from the beginning of time to
the end. It is alluded to, but rarely believed. You will
become like those with whom you associate!

We see this phenomenon so often with married

couples that have been married for a long time. Not
only do they take on the same beliefs and values, but
eventually they look like one another. It is almost
funny if it wasn’t so serious. We rarely understand
how important this is when we are young and so easily
impressed by appearances. Time however will bring
this truth to pass either for our good or for our harm.

  35
I think Sapphira may have wished she had chosen
differently. She came in to agreement with her
husband to lie to the Apostles and ultimately to the
Holy Spirit. There were grave consequences to her
choice. (Acts 5: 1-11)

Do we want to be a drug dealer? Spend our time with

drug dealers. Do we want to be a drunk? Spend our
time with drunks. Do we want to be beat up and
abused? Find our life’s partner in a bar. Do we want
to be a thief? Spend our time with thieves. I think I
have made my point. What kind of person do we want
to become?

Do we want to become kind? Spend our time with

those who are kind and speak kindly of others. Do we
want to be one who speaks and knows the Word of
God? Choose those who study and know the Word of
God as companions. Watch for the man or woman of
God who has the Word flowing in their daily speech.
Do we want the life and power of the Spirit of God
flowing from our lives? Spend time with an Elijah like
Elisha did!

We must know our own hearts and the choices we

make. If we have made poor ones, today is a good day
to recognize that fact, repent and choose what is right
and good!

A word of encouragement is given to us by the Apostle

Paul at the end of his life.

36
Philippians 3: 12-16:
“Not that I have already attained, or am already
perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for
which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren,
I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one
thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as
are mature have this mind; and if in anything you think
otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already
attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the
same mind.”

Thank you, Jesus! Even at the end of our lives, we can

adopt Paul’s attitude and keep pressing in. We do not
have to be discouraged if we have not become
perfected. The truth is, the closer we become to Jesus,
the more we see how holy and perfect He is. We see
ever more clearly our own need for a Savior.

It is here as we press on to truly know the Lord that the

Bridal Heart is developed. In this place, she accepts
the cup offered her by the Bridegroom according to
Jewish tradition and becomes His betrothed. She
chooses to be set apart for her Lord, sanctified and
consecrated to Him alone. She will take no other
lovers. Her heart belongs only to Him. She puts on
her veil and begins to prepare herself for the day He
comes to claim her as His wife. Now all her attention
and focus is upon Him.
  37
She is devoted to Him. This word is accurately
descriptive of the Bride of Christ. Devoted is taken
from a Greek word eulabas, showing us that to be
devoted means a choice that is well taken. It reveals a
faithful, consistent life style choosing spiritual
disciplines daily. The Bride is devoted to Him because
of an inner heart condition affecting her thoughts,
emotions and behavior. Her focus is on the Lord!
Here she enters into awe and worship for her Lord!

Truly, she now moves into the Holy of Holies in her

ever deepening relationship with her Bridegroom. It is
in this place that the Spirit of the Knowledge of the
Lord and the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord permeate
her life. The Bride lives in the atmosphere of
Holiness.

She is changing by every encounter with Him.

2 Corinthians 3: 18:
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a
mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed
into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the
Spirit of the Lord.”

As she turns aside to behold Him, the Spirit of the

Lord is transforming her into His image! If this is true
in human marriage, how much more so with the Lord?
She most likely is not even aware of the change that is
occurring in her. Her focus is upon Him.

We see that human effort to improve ourselves cannot

effect the change we desire. Our focus is completely
38
on ourselves! Hence, we become only as good as we
are! But when we turn our attention to Jesus and
Behold Him, we truly begin to change.

We become what we behold!

This simple truth is so profound, but we miss it! Too

often we busy ourselves with self-improvement. But,
when we love Him, behold Him our hearts are
changed! Now, the very motivation of why we
practice spiritual disciplines changes from making
ourselves better to hungering for more of His
Presence. Prayer and the Word now become about
Him!

If she neglects or circumstances deny her His

Presence, it becomes painful and grievous to the
Bride! Every fiber of her being cries out for Him!

But in His Presence changing becomes the simplest

thing. She is turning her focus to the One who is
wonderful and awesome beyond her very
comprehension. Holiness will now mantle the Bride!
It becomes her very covering.

The Breath of the Holies is where she lives. The Spirit

of the Living God breathes on her as she worships
Him. She feels His Presence, His Breath and His
Heartbeat. He draws her ever closer in holy intimate
relationship. The day of the catching away of the
Bride draws near. She desires nothing else. He longs
to bring her to His home and keep her close to His
Heart.
  39
It is here that we are imprinted by the Spirit of
Holiness as we are being changed into His likeness!

Revelation 22: 17:

And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let
him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts
come. Whoever desires let him take of the water of life
freely!

Amen, even so, Come Lord Jesus!

And may it be that we hear and obey as He calls us to

come!

40
Do You Know?

Perhaps you have arrived at this point and realize that

you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, or are

eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans
6:23.
When someone offers you a priceless gift, the wisest
thing you can do is accept it! This very moment you

  41
Prayer of Salvation

Dear God, know that I am a sinner. I know that

you love me and want to save me.
Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, who died on
the cross to pay for my sins. I believe God raised
you to pay for my sin and by faith I now receive
you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into
my heart, forgive my sins, and save me, Lord Jesus.
In your name I pray, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer, and meant it with all your

heart, you are saved!

Power to Live Life

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit releases the Holy Spirit

in the believer to overflow and manifest outwardly.

Once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal

Lord and Savior you ASK God to baptize you in the
Holy Spirit.

The Bible says, “Ask, and it shall be given you” Luke

11:9.

Secondly, believe you have, in fact, received this gift

from God.

The apostle Paul, writing to the Galatians, said, “Did

you receive the Spirit by the work of the law, or by
hearing with faith?” Galatians 3:2

You will have to believe that if you ask, you will

receive.

  43
Prayer for the Baptism
of the Holy Spirit

Heavenly Father, I come to You in faith. I thank

You that Jesus saved me. Holy Spirit, come upon
me. I ask You to baptize me in the Holy Spirit.
Right now, I receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit
by faith in Your Word.
Manifest the gifts of the Holy Spirit in my life, Lord
Jesus, with the initial sign of speaking in tongues.
May the anointing, the glory, and the power of God
come upon me and into my life that I will be
empowered for service from this day forward.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for baptizing me in Your
Holy Spirit. Amen.

Now, having asked and received begin to practice the

power of the Spirit.

“What is it, then? I WILL pray with the Spirit, and I

will pray with the understanding also:
I will sing with the Spirit, and I will sing with the
understanding also.
I Corinthians 14:15
A good place to begin is where the first apostles did,
praising God in a new language. How? Simply begin
praising God out loud in whatever words come to you,
whether one word or several. Tell Him how much you
love Him. Thank Him, worship Him and yield your

44
voice to Him. Let Him give you new words of praise
you have never heard before.

The Bible states, “…open wide your mouth and I will

fill it.” Psalm 81: 10. “And these signs shall follow
them that believe; in my name they shall cast out
devils; they shall speak with new tongues”
Mark 16: 17

Dedication

His head and hair were white like wool, as white as
snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;
His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a
furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters;

3
And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the
saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

6
7 Spirits Before the Throne and the Spirit of Might;
Mantle of the Miraculous.

Spirit of the Fear of the Lord flow and work together;
they release the Spirit of Holiness. When the Spirit of
Holiness is present, sinners cry out for forgiveness and
believers bow low in worship.

And may it be that we hear and obey as He calls us to

come!

I John 1: 9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.”

Mark 16: 17
