Dear Parents
We have had yet another busy start to the term. With Science Week next week and Healthy Living
Week the following week there is plenty of fun ahead! This week was also the SIAS Inspection
(Statutory Inspection of Anglican Schools). We were, again, delighted with the outcome and will send out
the full report when we receive it!

DINNER MONEY – Thank you to those parents who send in money in advance on a Monday or on the day the
meal is eaten. Some meals however, are currently outstanding so please do not wait for a brown “reminder”
envelope – these are not sent out as a routine way to pay. At the end of last term, a few dinner accounts are in
credit and a few are owing! If you think you may be owed (or owe us) please call into the office so we can
finalise these accounts. Thank you to those parents who have already done so!

Swimming continued again after this week at EXCELLENT
Brize Norton swimming pool and transport will be in their Food Hygiene Rating
provided by Carterton Coaches. To cover costs we well done to Tara and Deirdre ☺
need to ask parents to pay a contribution of £1.50
per lesson (slip attached).

All the children in Ginkgo, Oak and Year 5s in
Willow class will continue to participate.
Please note that all Year 6 children will also be
swimming on the 16th June in preparation for
the School Swimming Gala which they will be
taking part in during Healthy Living Week on
Wednesday 23rd June 2010
Children will need a swimming kit, which must
include a swimming hat (available from the school
office at a cost of £1.00) in a suitable bag. Boys
must wear swimming trucks, not shorts.
Oxfordshire County Council’s policy does not allow
children to wear goggles. If your child needs to
wear goggles please return the permission form
below if you have not already done so.
Please ensure that all watches and earrings are
left at home on swimming days. Please note that a
letter from a parent is required if a child is to
miss a swimming lesson for any reason. Generally,
if a child is well enough to be at school then they
are well enough to swim.
Parking Around School
As we are at the start of a new term, please may
we remind parents to respect our neighbours
when parking near the school. From time to time
we do receive complaints – please help us keep
this to a minimum by not blocking drives and
gateways and keeping clear of the zig-zag lines –
thank you
Parental Permission for
Administering Medicines in School
If your child requires medicine of any sort during the
school day, please complete a permission form and
hand it into the school office with the (named)
medicine. The forms are available in the office or on
the shelf outside the office next to the holiday
request forms. Thank you.

The Year 6 Playground Leaders will be running a

club, with Mrs Brownjohn, starting next Tuesday. They will arrange a different activity
such as World Cup Football, Rounders and Multi Ball skills etc. This club is open to all
children so if you would like your child to participate please complete the club form
attached in the usual way. ☺

Tara (our school cook) will offer a barbecue lunch for both children and adults, the menu is below. To ensure
we can cater for all those who want the barbecue, all lunches must be ordered in advance (including Free
