Dear Eller College Admissions Committee:
It is with great interest and determination that I apply for Management Information Systems because right now
technology is redefining businesses. Companies have a vast amount of data that is propelling business strategies into
a new direction. I am attracted to the challenges Eller would put me through because I want to be in an environment
where I can work as a team and in technology to help others. My inspiration stems from my uncle who is an Eller
alumni and doctor. After finding a shortage of Direct Primary Care physicians, he then created his own business
using his Eller experience to instantly capture a following of patients which he gained three of in just one week of
opening. Just like my uncle, I would team with Eller to give back to my community by gaining the knowledge of
how to gather data and interpreting it to help others. Whether it being a doctor or data analyst I want to continue
with a hospital to further the well-being of others. Being accepted into Eller will give me the ground foundation of
professionally speaking, writing, and learning all components it will take to push a business further. All the
encounters that I have had with leadership, critical thinking, and work ethic drives me to become who I want to be
today.
My previous work experience allowed me to learn skills that I can use to work as an effective team member. In
ARCO AMPM I trained new employees and was a shift leader. In this role, I assisted in the coordination of brand
advertisement around the store. I provided improved inspection scores resulting in a store award of excellence and
increase sales. The ARCO AMPM I worked for is in the 10% of stores for the southwestern region of the United
States that sold the most volume of gas. Thus, providing me to give high customer satisfaction of over a hundred
customers, as well as handling $6,000 cash a day per individual shift. Eller will establish a building block of skills
on top of what I have gained already. I plan to integrate my leadership skills into Eller by working in teams to
provide businesses recommendations and feedback to increase clientele or sales as I did with ARCO AMPM.
I established an introductory foundation of structured programing and engineering design at Arizona Western
College. In my structured programming course, coding gave me a basic foundation that I would incorporate into
Eller’s Management Information Systems. My engineering design class allowed me to develop critical thinking
skills because I worked on a project with multiple iterations until well crafted. The two courses furthered my
knowledge of technology and critical thinking. Eller deals with the transferrable skills I have because it deals with
group interactions that strategizes real business data into helpful recommendations using technology. In Eller I want
to professionally work as one unit where all team members can lead each other with a well-rounded foundation in
technology with a Management Information’s System degree.
Giving back to my community with a foundation of an MIS degree is one way to help hospitals heal others back to
health with personal care and attentiveness. My aspirations to work with a hospital as a data analyst through
technology has never been more enticing now that I apply to Eller college of management. I’d be an effective
member of the Eller college by dedicating my ability to lead, challenging myself and others, as well as my critical
thinking. My career aspirations don’t limit to just me but the dedication to help and lead others through sheer grit.
Sincerely,

Euluis Zavalza
