Part 1 Documentary material (varied submission)


Part 2 Rationale (1200 words)

The documentary assessment is focused on articulating the ‘story’ of your participation in CoLab
thereby capturing your feedback, the experience and providing a rationale of vision, processes,
negotiations and outcomes.
Your work will be given feedback and a grade according to the assessment criteria below:

 Capacity to present an illustrated description of an individual CoLab experience;


 Creative vision, planning and preparation
 Evidence of reflection and critical awareness
 Incorporation of current literature and its relation to stated concepts
 Ability to draw on relevant issues raised in seminars, rehearsals and tutorials and collaborative
sessions
 Evaluation of a range of alternatives and an assessment of their relative merits
 Organization, presentation and communication

PART 1 Documentary material (varied formats)

Submission formats:
 Provide a link to a series of blog entries (5 entries) with written commentary, e.g. Tumblr,
Blogger, WordPress (only posts prior to submission dates will be considered); ensure that
the blog is live and not a link to the dashboard. If you opt for the blog to have restricted
access make sure that you provide the user name and password. If we cannot access the
blog we cannot guarantee being able to mark the work.
 PowerPoint or Prezi, presentation or other comparable method, e.g. film, html webpage, pdf;
(5 slides/ elements)
 a series of short recordings with commentary 15mins (max 20mb per item);
 images of the process with commentary 6 - 12 photos (max 20mb per item);

Ensure that you are copyright compliant. You may make use of the TL eStream service to upload

NB. Your submission evidence is confidential and will only be used for the purpose of giving feedback and a grade – in some
cases assignments may be used for examples to demonstrate work, however the student’s permission will always be sought
in these instances.

PART 2 - Rationale - 1200 words (+ or - 10%)

Write an evaluative rationale of your project and participation in CoLab.


Consider and refer to the documentary part of your assignment and describe, analyse and evaluate
your project. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of wider contexts and be able to position
your work against the background of other artists and commentary.

Please refer to the assessment guidance notes for advice on how to structure and present your work.

You will receive a Pass/Fail for participation in the project and a provisional grade and formative feedback (next steps for
learning) within 21 working days by 22 April 2016. 50% is the pass mark for this assignment. Please refer to the MMus Level
7 marking criteria in the MMus handbook for the wording of your feedback which reflects your grade.
