The infographic, “ ……”aimed at promoting heart disease awareness to individuals focusing on

racial and ethnic disparities. This infographic is the geared towards a wide variety of people. It

was easing to extract the focus message from this piece, as I was able to clearly point out the

goal of the infographic. It was quite informative and made use of statistics and additional data to

support its message. Imagery is used to not only help with conveying the message but to allow

get the reader’s attention. The scientific concepts were made more simpler for the readers to

understand. I believe it was well organized and highly persuasive in conveying the issue of heart

disease. If there was one thing I could change about this infographic, it would be to make it

simpler, straight to the point, and shorter as it was a bit lengthy and clustered. In order to not

bore the targeted audience, all these are necessary characteristics to keep in mind.

A non-communicable disease is one that is not transmitted directly from person to person

contact. The first infographic I will be analyzing is Every Heart Counts. This infographic was

designed to highlight the prevalence of heart disease, its contribution to increased deaths, and the

burden it places on individuals who are less fortunate or in developing countries (low- and

middle-income countries). This infographic seemed easy to read, clear and straight to point, but I

felt it could have been more informative and more persuasive. The second infographic is ‘Polio:

What you are only the tip of the iceberg’. I found this infographic very effective in the way it
presented its message. It was simple, straight to the point, and acted upon the emotions or

conscience of individuals by talking about kids. The implications of the disease are clearly stated

and the urgency at which it needs to be controlled is also indicated. The third infographic is ‘The

Global Impact of Vaccines in Reducing Vaccine-Preventable Disease Morbidity and Mortality’.

This infographic was created to showcase the positive effects in vaccine in the prevention of

disability and death by certain diseases. The infographic uses a wide range of statistical data to

support its findings and would reflect a highly effective message to its audience.

I believe that the last infographic, ‘The Global Impact of Vaccines in Reducing Vaccine-

Preventable Disease Morbidity and Mortality’, conveys its message in a clear and interesting

manner. I say this because it was simple, straight to the point, and provided just enough

information and data to attract its audience without boring them. It summarized statistical data

and scientific findings in a way that the public would be able to understand. Its aim was to

provide individuals with evidence to support the positive effects of vaccination. Being able to see

how deaths have decreased over the years as a result of vaccination was proof enough that it

would be a very effective method in combatting morbidity and mortality issues in relation to

diseases.
