Dear Mr. Mutti,

My resume was recently forwarded to you by my friend Michelle Liu, and I wanted
to follow up with a brief note to elaborate on my objectives and skills.

I am looking to start my engineering career in a small firm where I can be involved

in hands-on projects and see them from start to finish. Having grown up in a small
town, I also prefer a tight-knit workplace over corporate offices, and feel that C3’s
work environment and location are just what I am in search of.

Based on discussions with Michelle, I believe my chemical eningeeinrg background

qualifies me to be of help in the following areas relevant to C3 Water:
 Hydraulic analysis, including pump curves
 Water treatment plant and treatment processes
 Contaminants/build-ups and various methods of removal
 Water chemistry (alkalinity, calcium carbonate contents, etc.)

In addition, I have had repeated practice throughout my undergrad in terms of

preparing proposals, technical reports, and cost estimates. My ten years of
experience in customer service will also come in handy should I ever need to
communicate with clients, suppliers, and so on.
