2011 Big Red Fantasy Golf

Official Rules

I. Scoring

The Big Red Fantasy Golf league will crown a winner based on the total amount of prize money a team
garners for the Fantasy Golf season.

a) The team with the most money is the champion

b) Prize money is awarded in accordance to PGA Tour payouts
c) Prize money is only awarded based on tournament results and bonuses (Appendix B)

II. Draft

The draft is an annual event that will take place at Saturday, December 18, 2010 @ 12:00 pm. The draft
will follow these requirements:

a) 12 Rounds
b) Snake Style (1,2,3,4,5, 5,4,3,2,1)
c) Draft order will be established based on the inverse standings of the previous season
d) Draftees will have 2 minutes to make each selection

The league’s first draft (2010) contained a three-round supplementary keeper draft; however drafts
moving forward will not contain this feature, unless a new member is added, where if the case, 3
supplementary picks will commence after the 12 Round draft’s conclusion to establish “keepers” for the
new member.

III. Schedule/Team Start Deadline

a) Each team must start the number of golfers required for the present tournament; line-ups will
consist of 3, 5, or 6 golfers depending on the tournament
• For a breakdown of what line-ups are required for each tournament please
see Appendix A
b) The Fantasy Golf Schedule will consist of 28 Tournaments; and must contain all Majors, WGC
Events, Playoff Events, and the PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP
• To see a breakdown of the schedule please see Appendix A
c) Each team must post their starting roster prior to the start of the present tournament
d) If a player withdraws before teeing off that player will not be charged with a start; if a player
withdraws during the round he will be charged a start
• Any adjustment to a team’s roster after a tournament has started is up to the
Commissioner to approve
e) For tournaments with 5 golfers required for a starting line-up, 3 must make the cut in order to
qualify for prize money
f) For tournaments with 6 golfers required for a starting line-up, 4 must make the cut in order to
qualify for prize money
g) For tournaments with 3 golfers required for a starting line-up, all players receive prize money as
these tournaments will have no cut
IV. Roster Composition

a) Each team’s roster will be comprised of 12 professional golfers on 1-year contracts; and
b) 3 professional golfers on 3-year contracts relevant to the date they were established as a
“keeper”
c) The 12 professional golfers on 1-year contracts for each team will be established via to the draft
prior to the start of each season
d) Each golfer (both 1-year golfers and “keepers”) will be limited to 12 starts per season
e) When a player reaches his limit of 12 starts, he is automatically removed from his present team’s
roster, and allocated as Maxed Out; this means once a golfer reaches 12 starts he is no longer
eligible to be traded, add/dropped, borrowed, or rented

V. Keepers

a) “Keepers” are on a 3-year contract relevant to the date they are established as a “keeper”
b) “Keepers” are established via:
1. The 2010 Big Red Fantasy Golf Draft – three round supplementary draft the
conclusion of the official draft; all “keepers” established in this fashion have contracts
beginning on December 12, 2010, hence ending December 12, 2012
2. Add/Drop – when an established “keeper” on a team’s roster is dropped, the player
that is picked up to fill the absent spot is established a “keeper”, with a 3-year
contract beginning on that transaction date
3. Trade – “keeper” trades can take place three different ways:

• “Keeper” for “Keeper” – in this case, the contracts linked to each “keeper”
involved remain as they were before the transaction
o This type of trade can occur both during the regular season and off
season
• “Keeper” for non-“keeper” – in this case, the “keeper” being traded for a non-
“keeper” loses his “keeper” status; while the non-“keeper” being traded for a
“keeper” becomes established as a “keeper” with a contract beginning on
that transaction date
o This type of trade can only occur during the regular season
• “Keeper” for Draft Picks – if a “keeper” is traded for a draft pick, the recipient
of the “keeper” must allocate one of his original three keepers as a free
agent, thus removing that golfer from his team
o The recipient of the “keeper” in this trade will receive a
supplementary draft pick(s) at the conclusion of the following year’s
draft
o Contracts of keepers in this type of trade remain as they were before
the trade
o This type of trade can occur both during the regular season and the
off season

VI. Transactions: Trades

a) The trade deadline is the Wednesday prior to The Barclays

b) Trades can only include 3 1-year golfers OR 2 “keepers” OR 3 Draft Picks
b) 1-Year Golfer for 1-Year Golfer trades can occur only during the regular season
b) For “keeper” trade rules, reference Section V.b.3
c) Draft Pick for Draft Pick trades can occur during the regular season and off season
1. In the situation where one draft pick is traded for multiple draft picks, the team that
loses draft picks will receive supplementary picks (according to how many draft picks
were lost) at the conclusion of the final round of the draft
• If multiple teams are in this situation, the order of the supplementary
picks will match the draft order in Round 1, but still follow a snake style
• Supplementary pick order will be determined by the inverse standings of
the previous year

VII. Transactions: Add/Drop – transaction to claim a free agent golfer (a golfer who is not on a
roster) in place of an existing golfer

a) Each team will be allocated 5 Add/Drops to use throughout the season

b) Add/Drops can occur during the entire regular season, including the Playoffs
c) To request an Add/Drop a team must post the request to the Waiver Wire
d) The Waiver Wire closes on Wednesday @ 8:00 pm prior to a tournament
e) Add/Drop requests will be granted based on the Waiver Wire order, which is established by the
inverse order of the current standings at that time

VI. Transactions: Borrows – transaction that allows for a team to start a golfer on another team’s
roster

a) Each team will be allocated 3 Borrows to use throughout the season

b) Borrows can be used for any tournament throughout the regular season and the Playoffs
c) Borrows must be announced when a team’s starting line-up is posted (Section III.c)

VII. Transactions: Rents – transaction that allows for a team to start a free agent golfer for ONLY
the present tournament (1-week basis)

a) Each team will be allocated 5 Rents to use throughout the season

b) Rents can be used for any tournament throughout the regular season and the Playoffs
c) Rents must be announced when a team’s starting line-up is posted (Section III.c)
