2.1 INTRODUCTION

Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching, and running a new business which

is often initially a small business. The people who create these businesses are
called entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship has been described as the "capacity and willingness
to develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to
make a profit. While definitions of entrepreneurship typically focus on the launching and
running of businesses, due to the high risks involved in launching a start-up, a significant
proportion of businesses have to close, due to "lack of funding, bad business decisions, an
economic crisis, lack of market demand – or a combination of all of these. In the 2000s, the
definition of "entrepreneurship" expanded to explain how and why some individuals (or
teams) identify opportunities, evaluate them as viable and then decide to exploit them,
whereas others do not[5] and, in turn, how entrepreneurs use these opportunities to develop
new products or services, launch new firms or even new industries and create wealth. The
entrepreneurial process is fundamentally uncertain because opportunities cannot be
discovered or identified prior to their actualization into profits. What appears as a real
opportunity ex-ante might actually be a non-opportunity or one that cannot be actualized by
entrepreneurs lacking the necessary business skills, financial or social capital.

An entrepreneur has been defined as, "a person who starts, organizes and manages any
enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk; running
a small business with all the risk and reward of any given business process. Entrepreneurs
tend to be good at perceiving new business opportunities and they often exhibit
positive biases in their perception (i.e., a bias towards finding new possibilities and seeing
unmet market needs) and a pro-risk-taking attitude that makes them more likely to exploit
the opportunity. An entrepreneur may be in control of a commercial undertaking, directing
the factors of production – the human, financial and material resources – that are required to
exploit a business opportunity. Entrepreneurs act as managers and oversee the launch and
growth of an enterprise. Entrepreneurship is the process by which either an individual or a
team identifies a business opportunity and acquires and deploys the necessary resources
required for its exploitation

The purpose of this seminar is to develop the knowledge about entrepreneurship to the
student who takes business admin and entrepreneur course.

2.3 KNOWLEDGE / LEARNING ACQUIRED BASED ON YOUR COURSE

Based on this seminar, I noticed that there are have many knowledge that acquired on my
course. We knows how to manage our business in large quantity because the person that be
invited was a famous business person. We learn how to manage business if we had barriers
to involve in international market.

Besides that, we also learn how to financing our business if we had large business in future.
Then , we also know how to market our product in the future. Then, we also know how to
market our products if we had international business in the future.

2.4 ADDITIONAL COMMENT ON SEMINAR (POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE)

About this seminar I would give the comment on positive side. That is because this seminar
is very good and give acknowledge to the students who take business course. This seminars
give them opportunity to open their mind for their future after their graduated.

Besides that, this seminar also encourage students who takes business course to spend
their money in “Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad” (ASNB). ASB was launched by Amanah
Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) on 2nd January 1990 for all Malaysian Bumiputeras. The
fund’s objective is to provide an alternative savings vehicle for Malaysian Bumiputeras. It
aims to generate long term, consistent and competitive returns for investors. As such, ASB
was designed as a fixed price equity income fund where the price per unit of the fund is fixed
at RM1.00 with no sales charges and no fees for redemption of units.

ASB has an input limit up to RM200,000 meaning investors can only increase their
investment amount until the input limit. However, the fund has no upper limit on the value of
the account. Hence, capital gains that are retained in the ASB account is allowed to cause
the total amount in the account to exceed RM200,000. Investors are free to decide the
amount to invest at any time, and can top-up or subscribe additional units via the relevant
ASB agents.

The dividend of ASB is distributed on yearly basis but computed monthly based on the
minimum amount of the month. Aside from being capital guaranteed, historically, ASB has
never given returns below 8.5%p.a.

This seminars encourage students to invest ASB so they have their saving money and not
waste their money for unless things.
2.5 RECOMMENDATION ON FUTURE SEMINAR

Based on my opinion, in the future I would like to suggest the seminars should give a talk
about analytical skills that is about qualitative and quantitative. I suggest this because it give
students who take business course knows the fire power. Know how to find, analyse and
transform information so they can build better strategies and make more effective decisions.
These critical thinking courses and seminars will help you leverage priceless knowledge and
quickly seize unseen opportunities for growth and success.

Next, I would like to suggest this seminars give a talk about communication skills training.
Whether it’s a face-to-face conversation or a professionally written e-mail exchange, a
meaningful message entails establishing a connection that leaves a powerful impression.
The communication courses and seminars will help students develop a truly engaging and
responsive communication style, leading to positive results for them and their future
organization.

Lastly, I would suggest this seminar give a talk about strategic planning. Strategy formulation
courses and strategic planning training seminars help managers at all levels maximize the
resources of their organization. Effective strategy formulation skills are highly prized in
corporate leaders—and they’re absolutely essential during a recession. The ability to
develop operational business strategies and then take those business strategies from plan to
action (or to rethink them on short notice) sets true leaders apart from their peers. Forward-
looking strategy formulation can make the difference between a profitable business and one
that stagnates.

AMA offers strategic planning training courses and strategy formulation seminars for
managers at all levels. The entire strategic planning process is covered in detail from the
basics of strategy formulation to the implementation of business strategies in the “real
world.”

These strategic planning training and business planning courses are designed to work
cohesively with one another. Pick any one to begin gaining the business strategy and
strategy formulation skills they need to effectively map their organization’s future. Take a
look to learn more about how our strategic planning courses can help them prepare their
organization to rise to a new level of performance.
2.6 CONCLUSION

In conclusion, I would like to suggest Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah for invite more business
person to give a talk at our university. So we as a business student can attend this seminar
and develop ourselves in business knowledge for our future after graduate. This seminar
also encourage us to saving more money in our future and not waste our money to unless
things. So we as a youth generation can save our money in ASB and can invest it in our
future if we had emergency time and can use it.

This seminars also give us knowledge how to make us to gain more customers if we had a
business in one day. As an online seller, I use the technique that give in this seminars and
develop in my online business. After using that technique, I gain more customer in my
business online, I would like to thanks to the lecturer that suggest University Sultan Azlan
Shah to having this seminars. This seminars really help me and my friends who take
