GRADE 11 HUMSS A
I as a HUMSS Student of Gordon College proudly congratulate the event that
was held by our Grade 12 HUMSS Block B and HUMSS Society for the success
of the HUMSS WEEK. Gladly it is open for all strand of senior high school
student, I was one of the participants on some events. Listing down the events
of HUMSS WEEK: Making A Statement, in the first day is Career Fair was held
in the Room of XIIHUMSS11, second day is Humanitarian Trail was held from first
floor to second floor and Escape Room is on the function hall and Lastly in the
third day is Debate that also held in the function hall in third floor.

The first event I participated is the Career Fair, which is about the courses and
the university you want and wish to go. They will help you to learn things about
some profession which is associated with HUMSS Strands and gave some
background tips and information about some universities here in the
Philippines. As for me, I learn a lot of things about the profession of a Teacher
and Attorney that I am now stuck between which one should I choose for my
future profession, they told me what course and subject I will take if I choose
that, and what are things to take to be good in that including the fact they advise
me which university is the best for it to study. Over all here in the career fair, I
highly recommended to have this event every hums week in every year, because
it is really help to fact it helps you to understand and make things clear for your
future decision. Another thing about it is that they give you a small paper of
information you just learn, it’s very useful though. Lastly, I do really love the set
up there, the music, the blackboard full of message that I even wrote one and
the picture taking portion. I can say Career Fair event is 5/5.
Next event I participated is the humanitarian trial, basically it is all about
solving puzzle and answering question but the topic is our history. There are 3
groups who’s will compete and they need to finish all the questions and go to
all station to get the pieces of the Philippine flag. So luckily, we are one of the
first batch, I’m with my friends jade, kiyla, mads and francess. The humanitarian
trail is fun, they assign the station in sixth floor all the way down to first floor
and to be honest it is very tiring to walk on the stairs rather than solving the
question because we are not allowed to use the elevator. But of course each
station has it’s uniqueness, from the jumbled words to the line up of the
president of the Philippines, from bugtong bugtong of KKK, to the lupang
hinirang and panatang Makabayan fill in the blanks and any more. This
humanitarian trail is very fun. But it is really helpful and a good way for the
student to recall some prior knowledge about our country. This game make me
think and recall my elementary year of studying. Overall, even if I get tired
atleast this will remind me to not forget about important stuff in our history.
Sadly we lost the one stars on the flag, but it’s fine.

Now here is the disappointing part for me but not really, I didn’t have a chance
to participate on the Escape Room. This is what I’ve been waiting for because
my friends and I do really like some puzzle. Unfortunately based to our
President Ate Noemi that some group do really take a lot of time on the escape
room, because there is no rules and guidelines. Me and my friends tried to wait
for the Escape room but at the time of 6 pm it is batch 9 that are playing and
we are batch 24, we can’t wait because of the time. Well even if I did not
participate, kudos! To the event because I know that it is successful and very
fun and educative game in way of using brain to think and solve.
Lastly, my most favorite one is the debate. Me and my friends are kinda late in
the said event cause our teacher in other subject made us work and have an
activity. But luckly we are able to watch the batch two which is the Abortion
topic till the end of the debate. The debate has three topic the federalism,
abortion and the divorce. I become audience for my classmate who decided to
debate which is Juliana. Jeanelle and Stephanie which they all won. I can’t say
who do really won the debate because both the affirmative and the negative
side gave us sufficient evidence. Each of the statement gave me a big question
mark in my head to rethink my position in the debate. Like in divorce, if it is
really should be approve here in Philippine and yes I’m kinda agree of it
because they easily put the topic of morality there which we are said to be
enslave of it that why divorce is not approve, also the abortion, it kinda make
me think that does it really gonna affect the economy of the country and how
does we can really prevent it, like train more people who will assist by doing
it. Some of the statement are unclear to me. In addition it is very funny because
the HUMSS12A present some short and unprepared debate that make us the
audience laugh so hard, one of the statement is ‘pagdumapo ba ang ipis sa
sabon, dudumi ang sabon o lilinis ang ipis’. Proceeding in the awarding grade
12 HUMSS won the Federelism topic, HUMSS 11 A both won the topic of Divorce
and Abortion. The good thing here is that after of the awarding both partners
are going to face to face debate to each other to see the skills and how good
they are as individual debaters. But Overall, the debate is very informative and
very useful. I gain more information and knowledge about the certain topics.
That it is very proud to see that HUMSS student are aware in this topic. That
thankful that debate is held because we exhibit and show the skills of HUMSS
in debating and showing arguments and evidence.
HUMSS WEEK: Making A Statement is very successful one. It is full of fun and
information. It is very suprising and a thrilling event for all of senior high
school students. I want to praise and thanked all the people who si behind of
this event. Because this event brought a new way to a student to learn and
practice their skills. This event make the student come out of there comfort
zone and starts showing their skills and knowledge they stock. This event
will be never forget, the memories and the knowledge we acquire here will
never forgotten. Career Fair, that help us to choose wisely about our future
decision career, Humanitarian trail that just not only an exercise to the body
but also to the brain recalling the prior knowledge of our history, Escape
Room that I know that is very informative and will need a brain to solve, next
time I will be in the first in Line to enter it. And lastly to the debate that
showcase the ability and talent that senior high school possess when it
comes in debating and making an argument. HUMSS Week, kudos for making
the whole week very exciting and memorable to many. Here’s my stamp
ticket. Unfortunately the Debate doesn’t have any stamp ticket, I only have the
escape room (I paid for the event but I did not have the chance to participate),
the humanitarian trail and career fair.
