Main aim: By the end of the lesson students will be able to exchange information
on shopping traditions in Colombia, the United Kingdom and the United
States.

This is the first class in a series of lessons for module 4 regarding sensible shopping and consumerism. Students
have recently worked on simple past tense and will focus on present perfect tense during the follow-up lessons.
In this lesson, students will learn about shopping traditions in the United States and the United Kingdom and will
compare those traditions with the ones we have in Colombia. Students will also practice vocabulary associated
to shopping as well as present perfect tense by expressing their shopping habits

Students get into groups to read their written productions in order to compare shopping traditions in USA and UK, they read about it in the text and their written
production about Colombia.

Procedure Students are divided into groups (3 / 4 people) and they have to choose a region in Colombia in order to find out some information about shopping and other traditions
(food, parties, etc.) for celebrations.
Students are given 20 minutes to do the research on the Internet and then create a poster or a visual aid to share a short presentation about their findings. 20 mins

B. Shopping in Colombia
