Glass flake Vinyl Ester
SURFACE • Remove all wax oil grease by solvent cleaning in accordance with guidelines given in SSPC SP 1
• Where necessary remove all weld spatter and round off all rough weld seams and sharp edges to a
PREPARATION smooth surface
• Abrasive blast cleaning to a minimum standard of Sa 2 .5 Swedish standard SIS 05 59 00or ISO
8501-1:1988
• Any defect revel by blast cleanings should be ground filled or treated in a suitable manner
• An average surface profile of 75micron is acceptable but this average should not exceed 125 micron
• After blasting remove the dust from the surface. The surface to be coated should be clean and dry

APPLICATION • A 3/8 inch paint line must be used (not ¼ inch standard width) and nylon lined
• The length of hose must not exceed 30 meters
• Filters must be removed from the gun and suction pump
• A pump of minimum size 45:1 should be used with minimum capacity of 7 liters /minute
• The tip size recommended is 0.030-0.060inch The fan width should be controlled 45-85 angle tip
• Tip should be checked regularly for ware and tare as glass flake coating wares tip very quickly
• The equipments must be flushed completely every 30minutes using Solvalux 7-223. Do not use any
other thinner
• The temperature of the pump should be checked during application as piston action may increase
the temperature. If the temperature exceeds 45°C then keep the pump working at reduced pressure
and flush completely with Solvalux 7-223
• Should an inhibitor be required add the inhibitor to the base first and thoroughly mix using a
mechanical agitator. When this is completed mix the catalyst and mix again using agitator for at
least 1 minute to ensure complete mixing
