As we are all living creatures it is important to be adaptable to

the changes around us. Every day we face a new situation and when
we react, some of them reflect our general opinions about the way
we live while some of our attitudes and sides are unique for a
situation. When it comes to the decision of “who is friend or foe?”,
our first reaction should determine what the truth is in that
situation. The important part is in which perspective that truth is
perceived. Sometimes it cannot be changeable as some of the people
believe. They are satisfied with the feeling of faith and admiration.
These feelings cause authorities, religions, and some belief systems
to expand by turning the ideas into strict rules. When someone
rewards or punishes the reactions you have made and thinks the
possible reactions you should made instead of you, you can put a label
on what you are doing like what the fundamentalist did to Marji’s
mother in the comic book Persepolis. They insulted her instead of
telling their doctrines peacefully and probably feel proud of that.
These kinds of motives could harm both sides of the situation.
Fanatics participate activities that both they do harm and be harmed
as they see the world in black and white under their strict doctrines.
Without thinking and innovation, they keep stuck in their threatening
viewpoints and cannot go beyond interpretations of their doctrines
while deciding.
On the other side of the truth, there is a completely different
story. “I was lost, without any bearings… What could be worse than
that?” says Marji after she yells God to get out. Taking all the
responsibilities of your reactions might make you feel alone, although
this position pushes you to think about ethical issues and gives you a
chance to be who you want to be. Also, it motivates you to think
about “who is friend and who is foe?” without the boundaries of
unalterable ideas. Marji’s story is very suitable to this issue because
she is not satisfied with the rules and never quits to fight against
oppression and blinkered doctrines, she is satisfied with the feeling
of exploring. Someday she dreams about being prophet, other day
being like Marie Curie. Without exploring, there is no point of being
yourself. Hence, changing motives makes you live.

children in this issue because they are not satisfied with the rules,
they are satisfied with the feeling of exploring. They are motivated
to think “who is friend and who is foe?”. Someday they could dream
about being prophet, other day being like Marie Curie. They have no
boundaries. When you experience more like children do, you will be
change more and more as well as your motives and attitudes.
Changing motives means living. Without thinking, there is no point of
being yourself. Marji, as our best example, has been struggling to
learn what is good or bad to be someone really good since her early
school years and she never quits to fight against oppression and
blinkered doctrines. As a learner, XXXX finding the balance of both
feelings to criticize herself and not to be a fanatic.
