Note the angle that can be made
between the baseline and the
low x-height. This can inspire
the angle of your crossbars.
This is a handdrawn lettering
style. Let your personality show
through. Make your letters dance!
Keep the stems of your letters
vertical. Allow the arms to cross
the stem to add character. Make
sure the bowls are oblique to
keep the movement alive. Allow
the legs and second upwrites to
land higher that the baseline.
Round letters are drawn as
oblique ovals.
You can “break” the box or
the ascender and baselines
with round letters.
