Set Up FilmArray Torch
::: NOTE
The following steps are performed by the customer (lab and IT personnel) to set
up the FilmArray Torch and to connect the system to the network.
1. If required, perform a security review of the FilmArray Torch and make
any necessary modifications to the system (e.g., installing antivirus
software).
2. Set up the FilmArray Torch in the lab in the location to be used for
clinical testing if not already completed. Ensure the system is near a
network port.
3. Create a shared folder on a network which can be accessed by the
system and the LIS. This folder is where test results will be shared
between the system and the LIS. Ensure that none of the folder names in
the network path have spaces or special characters.
4. Connect the system to the network via Ethernet cable.
5. Add the system to the domain.
NOTE: The local FilmArray user account must be used to operate the
FilmArray Torch.
NOTE: This step must be completed from the administrative mode on
the FilmArray Torch. Refer to the Switch to Administrative Mode section
in this document for instructions about how to access the administrative
mode on the FilmArray Torch.
6. Map the system to the network drive on which the shared folder is
located. A domain user account will be required to complete the
mapping. The account must have read and write access to the shared
folder location.
NOTE: This step must be completed from the administrative mode on
the FilmArray Torch. Refer to the Switch to Administrative Mode section
in this document for instructions about how to access the administrative
