    RESOLUTION _|-\ RESOLUTION TO POSTPONE DELINQUENCY DATE AND WAIVE INTEREST PENALTY (ON ST INSTALLMENT FOR PROPERTY TAX IN SANGAMON COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, JB Pritzker, Governor of Illinois, declared all counties inthe State of ltnas asa disaster rea on March 9, 2020 and April 1, 2020 (“Gubernatorial Diseter Proclamations”) in esponse tothe outbreak of Coronavias Disease 2019 (°COVID-19"); and WHEREAS, in a short period of time, COVID-19 has rapidly spread throughout Minos, necessitating ‘updated and more stringent guidance from federal, sate, and local public health officials; and WHEREAS, COVID-19 has resulted in sighticant adverse economic impact, including loss of income and wages, that threatens to undermine housing security and stability and has adversely affected all property owners in Sangamon County; and WHEREAS, pursuant 1 35 ILCS 200/21-40(¢) (1A) the Sangamon County Board has the authority to postpone the date on which any specified installment or installments of tax due on real property inthe current year becomes delinquent and WHEREAS, pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/21-40(c)(1)(B) the Sangamon County Board has the suthority to exempt any installment of propery fax due from the interest penalty as prescribed by law until the postponed
