An Advantage of Case Studies is that they provide in depth, detailed information
about the case, person, or the functional unit of person, which is being studied.
An advantage of correlation is that they are rapid to describe a relationship
between two variables. They are the best tool for the researchers, because they
are fast, collect a lot of data, save time and probably the biggest benefit would
be that this method doesn’t cost a lot of money. An Advantage of the experiment
method is that they manipulates one or more factor and observe the effect of a
person’s behavior and mind. They have high internal validity, or increased
confidence that the IV influences the DV.
Correlation:
This study often used to show relationship between Vitamin J and memory. Vitamin J
being the Independent variable while memory being dependent on the amount of
Vitamin J consumed. The correlation of scatter plot shows that Vitamin J helps in
memory and efficiency of neurons. A survey might be done to achieve data of People
using Vitamin J and their memory compared to the people not consuming the Vitamin
J. A measurement of vitamin J and memory without manipulation of Vitamin J might
be taken too.
Experiment.
This study evaluates the effects of vitamin J (daily for 3 months) on memory in
certain healthy group of young people. Effects were compared with 38 controls who
received placebo and were matched for age, plasma pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP)
concentration and intelligence score and memory.
Random assignment of participants to conditions.
Administration of Vitamin J or the manipulation of the vitamin J variable.
An experiment done with a control and matching the experiment with the control one
for example matching participants that took Vitamin J in their diet to the ones
who didn’t not, or changing environmental conditions for the group might be a key
factor to it.
