Defeating Death is a Possibility for You

How we came to be.

Before the bible

There was just one

In Hebrew it's name is EL

El breathed and moved and brought forth from within itself two, Force (sometimes called Desire) and
Intelligence also named Father and Spirit (Father-Mother God) then they breathed and moved in unison
to bring forth from within themselves their first and only Son (Light) later known as the Christ, The
three breathed and moved and brought from within themselves God (Elohim, the seven spirits that
always behold the face (presence) of the Father-Mother God ) of which we were created in the image of
God (Elohim).

Then we were given a Soul to use to experience lower dimensions, then our Souls were given a Human
Body to experience an even lower dimension the physical dimension. No matter where in the universe
or galaxies your soul finds itself it is given a physical body made from the local elements.

In the same manner, Eve always existed within Adam (Androgynous Adam). Eve was brought forth
from within Him to have a Soul and Human Body and be a female companion to Adam (now a male).

Those twin Souls became known as Jesus and Mary his mother after 250,000 years and 33 major
incarnations for Christ who became known as Jesus. From Adam to Jesus we know quite a bit from
Edgar Cayce and other writings. Of Eve to Mary we know almost nothing, except that Mary was born
to Anna and was immaculately conceived. The records are in the Vatican. According to Edgar Cayce
immaculate conception will return as we grow closer to the Divine.

On Defeating Death
Text Of Reading 900-465

CATEGORY:Physical
SUBJECT:Longevity:toxemia

[900]: You will have before you the body of [900], present in this room, and the body's various
associations and the knowledge the body has attained through experiences of the past.

In the first, you will consider that as I was commanded to ask about, relating to my physical; for last
night, striving to overcome the antrum trouble or congestion in the facial region, I was told, "Ask about
this in a reading".

In the first, then, you will take into consideration the physical of [900], and give me what necessary
knowledge I should have to overcome physical difficulties. In the second, we will consider - and you
will answer questions regarding - other experiences in the life of this body, as they pertain to his
various fields of endeavor.

EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [900]. This we have had before.

In the physical forces of the body, here we find as indicated in that presented the body, and as has been
given there may come the ability of the body to, within self, through concentration, so accentuate that
within the system as to overcome conditions as bring distress or distraughtness to the physical body.
Hence there was given the instructions for the body to study anatomical forces as relating to the body,
or anatomy.

In the relationship also there is found that there must come for such conditions that ability to so
concentrate self and self's own mental consciousness as to BECOME AWARE WITHIN self OF the
body's complying with that being wrought IN the system when distresses arise.

Hence, as has been seen through the various information as has been given regarding physical
conditions in individuals, that, that necessary to awaken the consciousness from within an individual is
necessary in its application to the physical forces OF the body to bring recuperative and resuscitative
influences in the body.

THIS the process as MUST come for EVERY living organism, as illness or disease is caused in a
human body.

The body being made up of ALL there is WITHOUT (OUTSIDE) the body in its whole anatomical
force, and its essence being that of all from without (outside); hence all from WITHOUT (OUTSIDE)
corresponds to a VIBRATION created from within.

The sensation OF its activity brought into consciousness by the Spirit Force, or Life within the
individual, and is of a cosmic or a universal influence.

In meeting, then, the needs of the specific conditions as exist with this body in the present condition -
[900] we are speaking of, present in this room - there is seen that the condition as exists in the mucus or
soft tissue in face, head and neck, suffers from the inability to so stimulate circulation to that portion of
the body as to remove the drosses (wastes) from the system, and the drosses (wastes) - becoming
infected through the activities of the used forces - produce one BELOW that of the necessary activity to
remove same from system.

Hence the necessity of CLEANSING same with something, or with that as is in correct vibratory forces
as is necessary to set up, to not only OVERCOME but to create that position or that condition in the
surface of such tissue as to bring life resuscitating forces; the activities necessary to build up the atomic
influence within the forces of the system itself as to REMOVE conditions.

Then, the continuation of those as will be found in the use of that as has been given, and in keeping the
stimuli sufficient in those of the upper dorsal and cervical region as to stimulate the circulation through
same, both with the light, with the manipulation, with the application, these will AID the body IN its
activity from within self to reach that consciousness.

Then continue within self in that silence as may be attained by turning self as introspective and seeing
that as is necessary to be rebuilt within the system, acting in such a way and manner as to rebuild same.

THROUGH this MAY one keep themselves young; may one REBUILD WITHIN themselves and
prolong the PHYSICAL forces as is desired IN self! Ready for questions - we want to ask some here!

(Q) One, then, may in truth, by such application, remain in the physical as long as is desired?
(A) May remain in the physical as long as the ability lies within self to so apply the forces from without
and within as to build or bring resuscitation to all forces from within, and, as desire is the father of
ACTIVITY, so is that brought INTO activity become life itself. Nothing grows, nothing remains alone
unless dead.

A mind, a body that sits alone and considers the outside and never turning that within to the out, nor
that without from within, soon finds DROSSES (WASTES) setting up in the system; for development
is change. Change is the activity of knowledge from within. Learn to LIVE!

Then there IS no death, save the transition, when desired.

See?

(Q) Then it is true, such individuals that I have been reading about and studying have actually lived in
physical form for thousands of years as they testify in these writings?
(A) MANY live who have never died as yet!

(Q) Then also it is true, one may preserve youth?

(A) One may preserve youth, even as is desired, will they pay the PRICE as is NECESSARY; but one
adding this, that, or the other to the system to become congenial with that known from within self is an
abnormality to itself, must pay its price.
(Q) That is, one must consider the diet, as well as application of knowledge obtained from within?
(A) To be sure!

(Q) Is meat conducive to age?

(A) Not necessarily. One thinks so, it is! Wasn't there given as from in the beginning, to those first of
Promise, "Of the fruit of the field ye shall eat"? Again there is found when there is given to man the
activities in knowing good and evil, that the beast of the field of certain natures, that made of certain
vibrations brought certain vibrations from within the same system.

(Q) Is my development proceeding towards that desired goal?

(A) Proceeding properly in the proper direction. Take TIME to be holy, even as take time to
concentrate; not concentration in that form as is ordinarily given to understand that it is the essence of
something boiled down, but rather that concentration in, as was given in the days of old, "Consecrate
yourselves by the washing of the body with pure water and opening the soul to that influence from
without, calling on Him whom ye would serve".
Remember that as has been given - STUDY this and know what it means. "He that receiveth a prophet
in the NAME of a prophet RECEIVETH a prophet's reward."

(Q) Now, in the other experience in which I was striving to become self-conscious of my spiritual self
or the inner body on a spiritual plane. Some progress I have made toward the application of the theories
and hypotheses I have been teaching. I was told, "You are doing the very thing you desire. Realize it.
Get a reading on it."
(A) This the same as has oft been given, that in the application there becomes the knowledge and
understanding that one may seek; or this may be ILLUSTRATED in THIS manner,
that the self and those that self would instruct may gain the more perfect understanding. The Father,
God, Jehovah, Shu - ALL mean one and the same! God IS! The Spirit in action, moving, brought into
being the world. See? In the physical world came the Spirit, made manifest in the flesh.

Then the Father, the Son, the Spirit - ONE!

So, in one - becoming conscious of that taking place within self's own development - first begins with
the physical being, the MIND, this bringing into being through concentration of thought, or of
emptying self, that the WILL, the desire, that sought, that expression, may be open to those influences.

First the physical, then the opening - and GOD is present. We just reverse the order. Through Him we
have access to the Father.

(Q) Then, it is true, as I saw swimming in essence a coagulation that I sought to turn into bread, and
heard them say, "He will do it yet" - it is true that I may so make manifest as did He while in the flesh.
(A) Greater things than ye have seen ME do YE shall do in MY NAME.

He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward. He that makes
manifest in self the WILL of the Father, through the application of THAT IN hand, and letteth the light
so shine that not even the EVIL is spoken good of nor the good spoken evil of, becometh one WITH
the Father.

(Q) In Nice I fell sick. Was the application at this time -

(A) That might be manifest even that as has been given, in that "Man must be born of water and of the
spirit would he come to an understanding of that being sought in a material world." So, as in this, there
are conditions ever in the experience of a body that may bring in that knowledge of the essence OF
self's relationship TO the Whole, see? This then is true, "Whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth", and
purgeth every one; purging as by fire. Water, as manifest, the BEGINNING of life. Over large bodies of
water, then, do many men of many lands learn that that is hard to be understood by those on land.
Why? The variation IN the vibrations as are set in motion has much to do WITH the changes as come
about in the activities of every atomic force in a human body.
Hence many are given to dwell near large bodies of water,
where sands and sea, where much comes that may not be touched by hands, may not be seen with the
human eye, but is felt in the heart and trains the soul. Wonders are often given as to why the
restlessness of waves causes QUIETNESS from within.
The answering of that from within self to the far call of the Spirit of God "MOVED over the face of
waters and dry land appeared"; that man in his coming might make MANIFEST the varied forms of the
expression of GOD in his universe.

(Q) It is true then, this purging of sickness was foreknown and that the recovery therefrom would be
considered a miracle?
(A) Would be considered a miracle, in that the manifestations that have been spoken of, been preached
from many a platform, spoken of in many places, made manifest in the life, in the lives of many.

(Q) In the various experiences obtained during my journey,

have I progressed and may I continue to reach a goal in which I may apply the universal forces in an
occult fashion to accomplish those things already spoken of?
(A) PROGRESSION is being made. PROGRESS is ever onward, and OCCULT a poor name. Rather
that the UNIVERSALITY of self's relation is made manifest in that spoken, that lived, that taught. We
are through.

The questions seem to be concerning the Aquarian Gospel by Levi Dowling
Text Of Reading 2533-8

CATEGORY:Special
SUBJECT:Philosophy

GC: You will have before you the enquiring mind present here, [2533], born December 22, 1904 in
Norfolk, Va., together with the information in his readings of May 29, 1943 and October 31, 1942.
From the highest source in the Christ Consciousness available to this entity you will give detailed and
comprehensive instructions necessary for the entity to know, speak, and understand the proper use of
the Sacred Omnific Word of Power or Logos and to have conscious access to Omnipotence,
Omniscience and Omnipresence. You will answer the questions that may be asked.

EC: In this, as we find, the entity is asking that it knows not of.

This ability - to speak, to apply, to be present in Omnipresence - is attained by having fully, completely
met all that has been error in the experience of the body, mind and soul in the earth experience.
Not that this is not attainable, but one grows to that consciousness in the application of the faith in and
the consciousness of being at-one with the divine that is within.

This may not then be given as yet.

(Q) Is the transmutation of human flesh to flesh divine the real mystery of the Crucifixion and
Resurrection? Explain this mystery.
(A) There is no mystery to the transmutation of the body of the Christ.

For having attained in the physical consciousness the at-onement with the Father-Mother-God, the
completeness was such that with the disintegration of the body - as indicated in the manner in which
the shroud, the robe, the napkin lay - there was then the taking of the body-physical form.

This was the manner. It was not a transmutation, as of changing from one to another.

Just as indicated in the manner in which the body-physical entered the Upper Room with the doors
closed, not by being a part of the wood through which the body passed but by forming from the ether
waves that were within the room, because of a meeting prepared by faith.

For as had been given, "Tarry ye in Jerusalem - in the upper chamber - until YE be endued with power
from on high."

As indicated in the spoken word to Mary in the garden, "Touch me not, for I have not yet ascended to
my Father." The body (flesh) that formed that seen by the normal or carnal eye of Mary was such that it
could not be handled until there had been the conscious union with the sources of all power, of all
force.

But afterward - when there had been the first, second, third, fourth and even the sixth meeting - He
THEN said: "Put forth thy hand and touch the nail prints in my hands, in my feet.

Thrust thy hand into my side and BELIEVE." This indicated the transformation.

For as indicated when the soul departs from a body (this is not being spoken of the Christ, you see), it
has all of the form of the body from which it has passed - yet it is not visible to the carnal mind unless
that mind has been, and is, attuned to the infinite. T

hen it appears, in the infinite, as that which may be handled, with all the attributes of the physical
being; with the appetites, until these have been accorded to a unit of activity with universal
consciousness.

Just as it was with the Christ-body: "Children, have ye anything here to eat?"

This indicated to the disciples and the Apostles present that this was not transmutation but a
regeneration, recreation of the atoms and cells of body that might, through desire, masticate material
things - fish and honey (in the honeycomb) were given.

As also indicated later, when He stood by the sea and the disciples and Apostles who saw Him from the
distance could not, in the early morning light, discern - but when He spoke, the voice made the
impression upon the mind of the beloved disciple such that he spoke, "It is the Lord!"
The body had prepared fire upon the earth - fire, water, the elements that make for creation. For as the
spirit is the beginning, water combined of elements is the mother of creation.

Not transmutation of flesh but creation, in the pattern indicated.

Just as when there are those various realms about the solar system in which each entity may find itself
when absent from the body, it takes on in those other realms not an earthly form but a pattern -
conforming to the same dimensional elements of that individual planet or space.

(Q) How may I project a counterpart of my conscious awareness to any given place desired and
comprehend or even take part in events there?
(A) Read what we have just been giving. This is an explanation of how. For it takes first spirit and mind
form, and may be aware of the elements in space. For time and space are the elements of man's own
concept of the infinite and are not realities as would be any bodily element in the earth - as a tree, a
rose, a bird, an animal, as even a fellow being.

Yet, just as the body may in its own material mind visualize, draw, a concept, a picture of an incident
that has happened in time, so may the body in spirit and in spiritual mind project itself, be conscious of
elements, be conscious of form, by and through spirit mind - as patterned in a conscious mind.

Mind, then, becomes as a stream, with its upper and lower stratum, with that which moves swiftly or
that which is resting upon either spirit or physical being.

These come, then, as flashes to a conscious mind. They may be gradually sustained, maintained. Just as
mind may be projected. [See 2533-8, Par. R2, newspaper article.]

Here we will have an illustration: In a camp near here, near this particular spot or place ye occupy,
there has been a gift taken by someone else. There will be a projection of the thought, "This MUST BE
RETURNED!" and it will be. For here we have the parties to this physical condition existent - right and
wrong, good and bad, spirit, mind, body. They are parts of this happening, and it is now being replaced.

(Q) How may I recognize sincere seekers of the Light,

incarnate, and attune to those disincarnate?
(A) This, too, has just been explained in how and where and in what manner there may be the
projection; or even as the body may interpret it when the body in itself may levitate itself from matter.

Begin with self, then; attuning self in mind to spirit, until there is the ability in self to see self levitated
from its own body. See it pass by. See it stand aside. See it act in all of the activities.

This, then, will give the entity that ability within self to discern incarnate and disincarnate entities in
their own activity.
Begin with self, not outside of self, if you would keep your own rational self.

(Q) Give meaning and pronunciation of the word J-A-H-H-E-V-A-H-E.

(A) Java; meaning the ability within itself to know itself to be itself and yet one with, or one apart from,
the infinite; to be a part of that realm of helpers; to know self as a part of and in that realm where the
angels are, or in that realm of the individuals who have been, who are, with the Announcer, the Lord of
the Way, and who have attained the consciousness of the Christ-within.
(Q) What is meant by the Hidden Way?
(A) Just as we have been trying to explain to the entity -
the finding of the consciousness of self within as related to, as being at-one with or as a part of, or
separated from,
the whole.

For as was given so oft, this is found within. For thy body is indeed the pattern of the heavenly body,
yet it only grows to same, as it grows away from same; though it may be within the three-dimensional
realm. This is the Hidden Way. For as the entity uses, never abuses but uses self in service, it finds the
Way. For who is the greater among you? "He that is the servant of all." Who would know the Hidden
Way? They who seek to do His biddings alone.

(Q) The Holy Breath?

(A) This is the same, only in activity; that is, one may be aware of the at-onement but to see, to feel -
There are not words to express, for we are expressing same in material terms or expressions of
awarenesses in a consciousness made known as it plays upon the attributes of a physical being.
As we say, the All-Seeing Eye of God, the All-Seeing Eye of self can only be attained when in attune to
God. And when attuned, He hath breathed the Holy Breath on the activity of the entity.

(Q) The light that cannot fail?

(A) This is the Christ. For it has succeeded, in that it has in physical consciousness passed through and
attained.

And when that light enters, by the individual entity opening the consciousness of self to that abiding
presence, the light has entered.
What is light? That from which, through which, in which may be found all things, out of which all
things come. Thus the first of everything that may be visible, in earth, in heaven, in space, is of that
light - IS that light!

(Q) The Book of Life?

(A) The record that the individual entity itself writes upon the skein of time and space, through patience
- and is opened when self has attuned to the infinite, and may be read by those attuning to that
consciousness.

(Q) The Rolls of Graphael?

(A) The records of an individual, as an archangel. The records of those activities with the Announcer,
the Way, in association with the CHRIST-CONSCIOUSNESS.

(Q) The Book of God's Remembrances?

(A) This is the Book of Life.

(Q) The Akashic Records?

(A) Those made by the individual, as just indicated.

(Q) God is the ten - the Holy Jod?

(A) This is an expression, not a fact - but that which leads to, directs towards activity in the
associations with others.
(Q) Any other suggestions?
(A) Be not faint of heart because ye have not been entrusted with the Word, the Power attained to.
Begin within self.
For thy activities are worthy. Don't abuse. Do use.

We are through.

SUBJECT:Jesus:last supper

EC: The Lord's Supper - here with the Master - see what they had for supper - boiled fish, rice, with leeks, wine,
and loaf. One of the pitchers in which it was served was broken - the handle was broken, as was the lip to same.

The whole robe of the Master was not white, but pearl gray - all combined into one - the gift of Nicodemus to
the Lord.

The better looking of the twelve, of course, was Judas, while the younger was John - oval face, dark hair,
smooth face - only one with the short hair. Peter, the rough and ready - always that of very short beard, rough,
and not altogether clean; while Andrew's is just the opposite - very sparse, but inclined to be long more on the
side and under the chin - long on the upper lip - his robe was always near gray or black, while his clouts or
breeches were striped; while those of Philip and Bartholomew were red and brown.

The Master's hair is 'most red, inclined to be curly in portions, yet not feminine or weak - STRONG, with heavy
piercing eyes that are blue or steel-gray.

His weight would be at least a hundred and seventy pounds. Long tapering fingers, nails well kept. Long nail,
though, on the left little finger.

Merry - even in the hour of trial. Joke - even in the moment of betrayal.

The sack is empty. Judas departs.

The last is given of the wine and loaf, with which He gives the emblems that should be so dear to every follower
of Him.

Lays aside His robe, which is all of one piece - girds the towel about His waist, which is dressed with linen that is
blue and white. Rolls back the folds, kneels first before John, James, then to Peter - who refuses.
Then the dissertation as to 'He that would be the greatest would be servant of all.'

The basin is taken as without handle, and is made of wood.

The water is from the gherkins [gourds], that are in the wide-mouth Shibboleths [streams? Judges 12:6], that
stand in the house of John's father, Zebedee.

And now comes "It is finished."

They sing the ninety-first Psalm - "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust."

He is the musician as well, for He uses the harp.

They leave for the garden.

SUBJECT:Jesus:congress #2

GC: You will please give at this time an outline of the life and activities of Jesus the Christ from the time of His
birth until the beginning of His ministry in Palestine at approximately thirty years of age; giving birth place,
training, travels, etc.

EC: As seen from the records that were kept then regarding the promises and their fulfillments in many lands,
"Thou Bethlehem of Judah - the birth place of the Great Initiate, the Holy One, the Son of man, the Accepted
One of the Father."

During those periods in accordance with those laws and rulings, in the household of the father.

Then in the care and ministry from the period of the visit to Jerusalem, in first India, then Persia, then Egypt; for
"My son shall be called from Egypt."

Then a portion of the sojourn with the forerunner that was first proclaimed in the region about Jordan; and
then the return to Capernaum, the city of the beginning of the ministry.

Then in Canaan and Galilee.

In the studies that were a portion of the preparation, these included first those that were the foundations of
that given as law. Hence from law in the Great Initiate must come love, mercy, peace, that there may be the
fulfilling wholly of that purpose to which, of which, He was called.

(Q) From what period and how long did He remain in India?
(A) From thirteen to sixteen. One year in travel and in Persia; the greater portion being in the Egyptian. In this,
the greater part will be seen in the records that are set in the pyramids there; for HERE were the initiates
taught.
(Q) Under whom did He study in India?
(A) Kshjiar [?]. [GD's note: 6/5/69 Dr. I. C. Sharma told me he thought the correct spelling of the teacher would
be Kahanji.]

(Q) Under whom in Persia?

(A) Junner [?].

(Q) In Egypt?
(A) Zar [?].

(Q) Outline the teachings which were received in India.

(A) Those cleansings of the body as related to preparation for strength in the physical, as well as in the mental
man.

In the travels and in Persia, the unison of forces as related to those teachings of that given in those of Zu and
Ra. In Egypt, that which had been the basis of all the teachings in those of the temple, and the after actions of
the crucifying of self in relationships to ideals that made for the abilities of carrying on that called to be done.

In considering the life physical of any of the teachers, these should not be looked upon by students as unnatural
conditions. Rather as, that the righteous Father CALLING to those that had builded in their experience that
enabling them to BECOME what each individual must in their own little sphere, gradually enlarging same to
become inclusive until they - the individuals - are one in purpose, one in aim, one in ideal, with Him.

(Q) In which pyramid are the records of the Christ?

(A) That yet to be uncovered.

(Q) What relation was there in the training with the three wise men?
(A) Representing the three phases of the development, for these were those that looked toward that
development; as is symbolized by the character of that given as the blessings were made upon the infant in the
Manger.

(Q) Are there any written records which have not been found of the teachings?
(A) More, rather, of those of the close associates, and those records that are yet to be found of the preparation
of the man, of the Christ, in those of the tomb, or those yet to be uncovered in the pyramid.

(Q) When will this chance be given for these to be uncovered?

(A) When there has been sufficient of the reckoning through which the world is passing in the present. 36 - 38 -
40.
[See 5749-2, Par. R2.]

(Q) He said He would come again. What about His second coming?
(A) The time no one knows. Even as He gave, not even the Son Himself. ONLY the Father. Not until His enemies -
and the earth - are wholly in subjection to His will, His powers.

(Q) Are we entering the period of preparation for His coming?

(A) Entering the test period, rather.
(Q) Any message to the group gathered here?
(A) In that ye seek to know the manner of preparation of Him that would be your guide, seek also to prepare

SUBJECT:Jesus:angels

GC: You will give at this time a discourse on the subject, "Angels and Archangels, and How They Help
Humanity." You will also answer the questions which will be asked.

EC: Yes. With the bringing into creation the manifested forms, there came that which has been, is, and ever will
be, the spirit realm and its attributes - designated as angels and archangels. They are the spiritual
manifestations in the spirit world of those attributes that the developing forces accredit to the One Source, that
may be seen in material planes through the influences that may aid in development of the mental and spiritual
forces through an experience - or in the acquiring of knowledge that may aid in the intercourse one with
another.

Then, how do they aid? Under what law do they operate?

The divine, in its intercourse, influence and manifestation with that which partakes of the same forces as they
manifest.

Ready for questions.

(Q) Please explain the virgin birth of Jesus, the Christ.

(A) In that there had been the manifestation in the earth of that which completed the cycle for the necessary
manifestation in the earth of the holy influence necessary for the sustaining of a backsliding world, there was
then that choosing of the influence through which there became manifest (in and through those channels that
comply with the laws of spiritual forces) that which brought into being the conception, that made for the living
influence of the Spirit through the body that became the child Jesus; and through the manifesting of the spirit
of the oneness of the Father became a manifestation of the Christ Spirit in material surroundings.

(Q) Explain the law of the line of demarcation between soul and spirit.
(A) This is one, yet distinct - even as the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit is one, yet is the manifestation of a force
that is capable of manifestation in the varied planes of development.

The soul is an individual, individuality, that may grow to be one with, or separate from, the whole.

The spirit is the impelling influence of infinity, or the one creative source, force, that is manifest.

Hence we find that in the physical plane we seek soul manifestation as the spirit moves same in activity.
(Q) Discuss the various phases of spiritual development before and after reincarnation in the earth.
(A) This may be illustrated best in that which has been sought through example in the earth.

When there was in the beginning a man's advent into the plane known as earth, and it became a living soul,
amenable to the laws that govern the plane itself as presented, the Son of man entered earth as the first man.
Hence the Son of man, the Son of God, the Son of the first Cause, making manifest in a material body.

This was not the first spiritual influence, spiritual body, spiritual manifestation in the earth, but the first man -
flesh and blood; the first carnal house, the first amenable body to the laws of the plane in its position in the
universe.

FOR, THE EARTH IS ONLY AN ATOM IN THE UNIVERSE OF WORLDS!

And man's development began through the laws of the generations in the earth; thus the development,
retardment, or the alterations in those positions in a material plane.

And with error entered that as called DEATH, which is only a transition - or through God's other door - into that
realm where the entity has builded, in its manifestations as related to the knowledge and activity respecting the
law of the universal influence.

Hence the development is through the planes of experience that an entity may become one WITH the first
cause; even as the angels that wait before the Throne bring the access of the influence in the experience
through the desires and activities of an entity, or being, in whatever state, place or plane of development the
entity is passing.

For, in the comprehension of no time, no space, no beginning, no end, there may be the glimpse of what simple
transition or birth into the material is; as passing through the other door into another consciousness.

Death in the material plane is passing through the outer door into a consciousness in the material activities that
partakes of what the entity, or soul, has done with its spiritual truth in its manifestations in the other sphere.

Hence, as there came the development of that first entity of flesh and blood through the earth plane, he
became INDEED the Son - through the things which He experienced in the varied planes, as the development
came to the oneness with the position in that which man terms the Triune.

(Q) Are angels and archangels synonymous with that which we call the laws of the universe? If so, explain and
give an example.
(A) They are as the laws of the universe; as is Michael the lord of the Way, NOT the Way but the lord of the Way,
hence disputed with the influence of evil as to the way of the spirit of the teacher or director in his entrance
through the outer door. [See Jude 1:9 in re Michael the archangel "when contending with the devil about the
body of Moses" when Moses died.]

(Q) Describe some of the planes into which entities pass on experiencing the change called death.
(A) Passing from the material consciousness to a spiritual or cosmic, or outer consciousness, oft does an entity
or being not become conscious of that about it; much in the same manner as an entity born into the material
plane only becomes conscious gradually of that designated as time and space for the material or third
dimensional plane.
In the passage the entity becomes conscious, or the recognition of being in a fourth or higher dimensional
plane takes place, much in the same way as the consciousness is gained in the material.

For, as we have given, that we see manifested in the material plane is but a shadow of that in the spiritual
plane.

In materiality we find some advance faster, some grow stronger, some become weaklings.

Until there is redemption through the acceptance of the law (or love of God, as manifested through the
Channel or the Way), there can be little or no development in a material or spiritual plane.

But all must pass under the rod, even as He - who entered into materiality.

We are through.

SUBJECT:Jesus:norfolk #1

GC: You will have before you the Norfolk Study Group #1, members of which are present in this room, who seek
more knowledge of, and that a reading be given on, Jesus the Christ. We would appreciate all knowledge that
might be given on Him at this time, after which you will answer the questions that may be asked by each
individual present.

EC: Yes, we have the group as gathered here; and their work, their desires. We will seek that as may be given at
this time.

"I, John, would speak with thee concerning the Lord, the Master, as He walked among men. As given, if all that
He did and said were written, I suppose the world would not contain all that may be said."

As He, the Christ, is in His glory that was ordained of the Father, He may be approached by those who in
sincerity and earnestness seek to know Him - and to be guided by Him. As He has given, by faith all things are
made possible through belief in His name.

Believest thou? Then let thine activities bespeak that thou wouldst have, in spirit, in truth.

Seek, then, each in your own way and manner, to magnify that you, as souls, as beings, would make manifest of
His love, in the way He will show thee day by day.

As He came into the world, as man knows the world, then He became as man; yet in the spirit world He seeks
to make manifest that sought by those who do His biddings.

For, as He gave, "If ye love me, keep my commandments. These are not new, and are not grievous, that ye love
one another - even as the Father loveth me."
(Q) [993]: Please explain why during meditation last Monday noon I had the longing to seek more knowledge
of, and a reading on, Jesus the Christ.
(A) The inner self approached nearer the attunement of the consciousness of the Christ presence.

The Christ Consciousness is a universal consciousness of the Father Spirit.

The Jesus consciousness is that man builds as body worship.

In the Christ Consciousness, then, there is the oneness of self, self's desires, self's abilities, made in at-onement
with the forces that may bring to pass that which is sought by an individual entity or soul.

Hence at that particular period self was in accord. Hence the physical consciousness had the desire to make it
an experience of the whole consciousness of self.

Seek this the more often. He will speak with thee, for His promises are true - every one of them.

(Q) [560]: Please explain: While meditating I had the realization of the forces within and the forces without
being the one and the same force. Then as if someone said: "Why not look to the within?" When I turned to the
within, I received a realization of the Christ which seemed to take form in body.
(A) In this the body-consciousness experienced much that "I, even John, experienced when I looked behind me
from the cave and saw that the without and within are ONE," [John 11:38? John's witnessing the healing of
Lazarus?]

when the desires of the heart make each atom of the physical body vibrate with the consciousness of, the belief
and the faith and the presence of, the Christ life, the Christ Consciousness.

Life is an essence of the Father. The Christ, taking up the life of the man Jesus, becomes life in glory; and may be
glorified in each atom of a physical body that attunes self to the consciousness and the WILL of the Christ Spirit.

(Q) [69]: Is the Celestial Sphere a definite place in the Universe or is it a state of mind?
(A) When an entity, a soul, passes into any sphere, with that it has builded in its celestial body, it must occupy -
to a finite mind - space, place, time.

Hence, to a finite mind, a body can only be in a place, a position. An attitude, sure - for that of a onement with,
or attunement with, the Whole.

For, God is love; hence occupies a space, place, condition, and IS the Force that permeates all activity.

So, Christ is the ruling force in the world that man, in his finite mind - the material body, must draw to self of
that sphere of which the entity, the soul, is a part, of whatever period of experience, to be conscious of an
existence in that particular sphere or plane.

(Q) Is Jesus the Christ on any particular sphere or is He manifesting on the earth plane in another body?
(A) As just given, all power in heaven, in earth, is given to Him who overcame.

Hence He is of Himself in space, in the force that impels through faith, through belief, in the individual entity.

As a Spirit Entity. Hence not in a body in the earth, but may come at will to him who WILLS to be one with, and
acts in love to make same possible.
For, He shall come as ye have seen Him go, in the BODY He occupied in Galilee. The body that He formed, that
was crucified on the cross, that rose from the tomb, that walked by the sea, that appeared to Simon, that
appeared to Philip, that appeared to "I, even John."

(Q) Wherever He is, how may I contact Him so that I may see Him and hear Him speak?
(A) The making of the will of self one with His will makes a whole attunement with Him. He WILL, with the
making of self in accord and desiring same, speak with thee.

"Be not afraid, it is I." [8/20/33 See 262-51, Par. 8-A, 9-A in re Mrs. [69] making herself more in accord so He will
speak.]

(Q) [585]: Was the vision I saw early one morning several months ago a vision of the Master?
(A) A passing shadow, yes. Pray rather to the Son, the Father through the Son, that He walks with thee - and He
WILL walk and talk with thee. Be NOT satisfied with ANY other.

He may oft give His angels charge concerning thee, yet know the Master's touch, the Master's voice; for He may
walk and talk with thee.

HE is the Way; there is no other. He in body suffered; for himself, yea - for thee also. Wilt thou turn, then, to any
other?

(Q) When Jesus the Christ comes the second time, will He set up His kingdom on earth and will it be an
everlasting kingdom?
(A) Read His promises in that ye have written of His words, even as "I gave". He shall rule for a thousand years.
Then shall Satan be loosed again for a season.

(Q) [379]: How may I raise my vibrations so as to contact the Christ?

(A) Making the will, the desire of the heart, one with His, believing in faith, in patience, all becomes possible in
Him, through Him to the Father; for He gave it as it is.

Believest thou? Then, "according to thy faith be it done in thee".

We are through.

SUBJECT:Christ:second coming

GC: You will have before you Edgar Cayce, present in this room, and his enquiring mind in relation to the talk
which he expects to give next Monday evening on the "Second Coming." You will give what he should present
at this open meeting on this subject.

EC: That which crowds in at the present may be well for those present, but would it be well for those in open
meeting? From this experience, though, there may be gathered that which has been given and that which may
be helpful to many in the comprehension of that which is the experience of those that seek through such
channels to have for themselves the experience that may be had by those here in this room in the present.

Be mindful then, each of you, of that ye may inwardly experience in that which may be given you.

For, those experiences that have been told you of the vision [See EC's dream of a.m.] of the gathering of those
that were known to many in this present land and in the lands abroad were in reference to just those things
that may be said respecting the Coming.

Many of these have ministered, have preached concerning this Second Coming. Not a one but what has at
some time left the record of his contemplations and experiences in those environs, whether made in the heart
and mind of his hearers or in the written word; yet here today, in what ye call time, ye find them gathering in a
body to LISTEN to that as may be given them by [Edgar Cayce?] one who is to be a forerunner of that influence
in the earth known as the Christ Consciousness, the coming of that force or power into the earth that has been
spoken of through the ages.

Listen, while he speaks! [Edgar Cayce?]

Ye, my brethren, in your ignorance and in your zeal have often spoken of that influence in the earth known
among men as the record made by those that would influence the activities in the religious or spiritual life of
individuals through the ages, as a record of the Son of man as He walked in the earth.

Rather would ye listen and harken to those things as He spoke when He made those inferences and illustrations
as to how those had closed and did close their ears to what was actually going on about them; yet they knew
Him not!

He, our Lord and our Master, was the first among those that put on immortality that there might be the
opportunity for those forces that had erred in spiritual things; and only through experiencing in a manner
whereunto all might be visioned from their greater abilities of manifesting in the various phases, forms and
manners as they developed through that ye know as matter, could they come to know how or why or when
there was made manifest in any realm spirit that was good and spirit that was in error.

For, He gave thee, had ye not KNOWN the Son ye would NOT be condemned in thine own self. For,
condemnation was not in Him, but "ye are condemned already." And in the coming into the influence of those
that would open themselves for an understanding might there be the approach to Him. He has come in all ages
through those that were the spokesmen to a people in this age, that age, called unto a purpose for the
manifestation of that first idea.

Readst thou how the sons of God came together, and Satan came also? "Hast thou considered my servant? Hast
thou seen his ways?" And the answer, even from the evil force, "Put forth thine hand - touch him in those
things that pertain to the satisfying of desire that is flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face."

Then, "He is in thine hand, but touch not his soul - touch not his soul!"

So we see how that the coming into the earth has been and is for the evolution or the evolving of the soul unto
its awareness of the effect of all influences in its experience in the varied spheres of activity; and that only in
Him who was the creator, the maker, the experiencer of mortality and spirit and soul COULD this be overcome.

Then, the necessity. For, has it not been said, has it not been shown in the experience of the earth, the world,
from any angle it may be considered, that He has not willed that any should be lost - but has prepared the way
of escape in Him, the Maker?

But who is the worthy servant? He that has endured unto the end!

Then, He has come in all ages when it has been necessary for the understanding to be centered in a NEW
application of the same thought, "God IS Spirit and seeks such to worship him in spirit and in truth!"

Then, as there is prepared the way by those that have made and do make the channels for the entering in,
there may come into the earth those influences that will save, regenerate, resuscitate, HOLD - if you please -
the earth in its continued activity toward the proper understanding and proper relationships to that which is
the making for the closer relationships to that which is in Him ALONE.

Ye have seen it in Adam; ye have heard it in Enoch, ye have had it made known in Melchizedek; Joshua, Joseph,
David, and those that made the preparation then for him called Jesus. [GD's note: Essenes, School of Prophets
started by Elijah. See Malachi 3 and 4] Ye have seen His Spirit in the leaders in all realms of activity, whether in
the isles of the sea, the wilderness, the mountain, or in the various activities of every race, every color, every
activity of that which has produced and does produce contention in the minds and hearts of those that dwell in
the flesh.

For, what must be obliterated? Hate, prejudice, selfishness, backbiting, unkindness, anger, passion, and those
things of the mire that are created in the activities of the sons of men.

Then again He may come in body to claim His own. Is He abroad today in the earth? Yea, in those that cry unto
Him from every corner; for He, the Father, hath not suffered His soul to see corruption; neither hath it taken
hold on those things that make the soul afraid.

For, He IS the Son of Light, of God, and is holy before Him. And He comes again in the hearts and souls and
minds of those that seek to know His ways.

These be hard to be understood by those in the flesh, where prejudice, avarice, vice of all natures holds sway in
the flesh; yet those that call on Him will not go empty handed - even as thou, in thine ignorance, in thine
zealousness that has at times eaten thee up. Yet HERE ye may hear the golden sceptre ring - ring - in the hearts
of those that seek His face. Ye, too, may minister in those days when He will come in the flesh, in the earth, to
call His own by name.

We are through.

SUBJECT:Jesus:easter
GC: As we approach this Easter season our thoughts turn naturally toward the Biblical accounts of the
resurrection of Jesus, the Christ. We seek at this time through this channel information dealing either with a
completion of the historical account or interpretation and explanation of the full meaning of the resurrection
which will help us to better understand and appreciate it.

EC: Yes. In seeking ye shall find. In the experience of each soul that has named the name of the Christ, this
should be a season of rededication of self as being a true messenger of His in and among men.

In seeking, then, to know more of that, as to those here, much may be revealed to those that in their inner
selves experienced that material period when HE, Jesus, walked in the earth.

But for what purpose is this season observed, that caused or called for such a sacrifice that life might be made
manifest?

Is it not fitting that to those here, to those there in that land, it came at that particular season when life in its
manifestations was being demonstrated in the material things about each soul?

How, why, was there the need for there to be a resurrection?

Why came He into the earth to die the death, even on the Cross? Has it been, then, the fulfilment of promise,
the fulfilment of law, the fulfilment of man's estate?

Else why did He put on flesh and come into the earth in the form of man, but to be one with the Father; to
show to man HIS (man's) divinity, man's relationship to the Maker; to show man that indeed the Father meant
it when He said, "If ye call I will hear. Even though ye be far away, even though ye be covered with sin, if ye be
washed in the blood of the lamb ye may come back."

Then, though He were the first of man, the first of the sons of God in spirit, in flesh, it became necessary that
He fulfil ALL those associations, those connections that were to wipe away in the experience of man that which
separates him from his Maker.

Though man be far afield, then, though he may have erred, there is established that which makes for a closer,
closer walk WITH Him, through that one who experienced all those turmoils, strifes, desires, urges that may be
the lot of man in the earth.

Yet He put on flesh, made HIMSELF as naught - even as was promised throughout, to those who walked and
talked with God.

In the history, then, of the resurrection as ye have recorded in part, may it be so interpreted that those here,
now, that experienced (through that period of their advent)

His suffering, may - as Andrew, Martha, Naomi, Loda [?], Elois [?], Phoenix [?], Phoebe [?] - again see those
days.

Though there were fears from the elements without, from the political powers that made for fears of body and
mind, there were the rememberings that HE had given, "Though ye destroy this temple, in three days it will rise
again."
And then as He hung upon the Cross, He called to those that He loved and remembered not only their spiritual
purposes but their material lives.

For He indeed in suffering the death on the Cross became the whole, the entire way; THE way, THE life, THE
understanding, that we who believe on Him may, too, have the everlasting life.

For He committed unto those of His brethren not only the care of the spiritual life of the world but the material
life of those that were of his own flesh, his own blood.

Yea, as He gave his physical blood that doubt and fear might be banished, so he overcame death; not only in the
physical body but in the SPIRIT body - that it may become as ONE with Him, even as on that resurrection morn -
that ye call thy Eastertide.

It is that breaking forth from the tomb, as exemplified in the bulb of the tree of nature itself breaking forth from
the sleep that it may rise as He with healing in its very life, to bring all phases of man's experience to His
Consciousness - that indeed became then the fulfilling of the law.

On what wise, then, ye ask, did this happen in materiality?

Not only was He dead in body, but the soul was separated from that body. As all phases of man in the earth are
made manifest, the physical body, the mental body, the soul body became as each dependent upon their own
experience. Is it any wonder that the man cried, "My God, my God, WHY hast thou forsaken me?"

Each soul comes to stand as He before that throne of his Maker, with the deeds that have been done in the
body, in the mind, presenting the body-spiritual before that throne of mercy, before that throne of the Maker,
the Creator, the God.

Yet as He, the Father, hath given to each of you, "I have given my angels charge concerning thee, and they shall
bear thee up, and thou shalt not know corruption."

This He demonstrated in the experience of thy Brother, thy Savior, thy Jesus, thy Christ; that would come and
dwell in the hearts and lives of you all - if you will but let Him, if you will but invite Him, if you will but open thy
own heart, each of you, that He may enter and abide with you.

Hence when those of His loved ones and those of His brethren came on that glad morning when the tidings had
come to them, those that stood guard heard a fearful noise and saw a light, and - "the stone has been rolled
away!"

Then they entered into the garden, and there Mary first saw her RISEN Lord.

Then came they of His brethren with the faithful women, those that loved His mother, those that were her
companions in sorrow, those that were making preparations that the law might be kept that even there might
be no desecration of the ground about His tomb. They, too, of His friends, His loved ones, His brethren, saw the
angels.

How, why, took they on form? That there might be implanted into their hearts and souls that FULFILMENT of
those promises.
What separates ye from seeing the Glory even of Him that walks with thee oft in the touch of a loving hand, in
the voice of those that would comfort and cheer? For He, thy Christ, is oft with thee.

Doubt, fear, unbelief; fear that thou art not worthy!

Open thine eyes and behold the Glory, even of thy Christ present here, now, in thy midst! even as He appeared
to them on that day!

What meaneth the story of the Christ, of His resurrection, of the man Jesus that walked in Galilee, without that
resurrection morn?

Little, more than that of the man thou thinkest so little of, that though his body-physical touched the bones of
Elisha he walked again among men!

Dost thou believe that He has risen? How spoke Thomas?

"Until I see, until I have put my hand in his side where I saw water and blood gush forth, until I have handled his
body, I will NOT believe."

Ye, too, oft doubt; ye, too, oft fear. Yet He is surely with thee. And when ye at this glad season rededicate thy
life, thy body, thy mind to His service, ye - too - may know, as they, that He LIVES - and is at the right hand of
God to make intercession for YOU - if ye will believe; if ye will believe that He is, ye may experience. For as
many as have named the name, and that do unto their brethren the deeds that bring to them (to you) that
closeness, oneness of purpose with Him, may know - ye, too - in body, in mind, that He LIVES TODAY, and will
come and receive you unto Himself, that where He is there ye may be also.

Crucify Him not in thy mind nor in thy bodily activities. Be not overcome by those things that are of the earth-
earthy.

Rather clothe thy body, thy mind, with the thoughts, the deeds, the privileges that His suffering as a man
brought to thee, that He indeed might be the first of those that slept, the first of those that came in the flesh,
that passed through all those periods of preparation in the flesh, even as thou.

But if ye would put on Him, ye must claim His promises as thine own. And how canst thou claim them unless ye
in thine own knowledge, thine own consciousness, HAVE done - do do from day to day - that thy heart has told
and does tell thee is in keeping with what He has promised?

For thy Christ, thy Lord, thy Jesus, is nigh unto thee - just now!

We are through.

SUBJECT:Jesus:essenes

GC: You will have before you the entity Thomas Sugrue, present in this room, seeking the life of the Master and
its history in the material world. Then you will answer the questions he submits, as I ask them.

EC: Yes, we have the entity, Thomas Sugrue; the desires, the purposes for the desire to know the material
history of the life of the Master in the material world.

Much might be given as to how or why and when there were the purposes that brought about the
materialization of Jesus in the flesh.

In giving then the history: There were those in the faith of the fathers to whom the promises were given that
these would be fulfilled as from the beginning of man's record.

Hence there was the continued preparation and dedication of those who might be the channels through which
this chosen vessel might enter - through choice - into materiality.

Thus in Carmel - where there were the priests of this faith - there were the maidens chosen that were
dedicated to this purpose, this office, this service.

Among them was Mary, the beloved, the chosen one; and she, as had been foretold, was chosen as the
channel. Thus she was separated and kept in the closer associations with and in the care or charge of this office.

That was the beginning, that was the foundation of what ye term the Church.

Then, when the days were fulfilled that the prophecy might come that had been given by Isaiah, Malachi, Joel
and those of old, she - Mary, espoused to Joseph - a chosen vessel for the office among those of the priests, the
sect or group who had separated and dedicated themselves in body, in mind, in spirit for this coming became
with child.

Then, as the record is given, that is the common knowledge of most, there was born in Bethlehem of Judea that
entity, that soul, Jesus.

There was the period of purification according to the law, and then the days in the temple and the blessing by
Anna and by the high priest.

And these made for those days of the beginning of the entity called Jesus - who becomes the Christ, the Master
of Masters - in the days when there was the return to Nazareth and then the edict that sent them into Egypt
that the prophecy was fulfilled, "My son shall be called from Egypt."

There five years were spent, as ye term time - by the mother, Joseph, and the child.

Then there was the return to Judea and to Capernaum, where dwelt many of those who were later the closer
companions of the Master.

Here, after the period again of presentation at the temple, when there were those questionings among the
groups of the leaders, the entity then was sent first - again - into Egypt for only a short period, and then into
India, and then into what is now Persia.

Hence in all the ways of the teachers the entity was trained.

From Persia he was called to Judea at the death of Joseph, and then into Egypt for the completion of the
preparation as a teacher.

He was with John, the messenger, during the portion of the training there in Egypt.

Then to Capernaum, Cana, and those periods of the first preparation in the land of the nativity.

The rest ye have according to Mark, John, Matthew and Luke; these in their order record most of the material
experiences of the Master.

Many of details may be given in the varied fields of the preparation, but these were the experiences.

Ready for questions.

(Q) Explain the immaculate conception.

(A) As flesh is the activity of the mental being (or the spiritual self and mental being) pushing itself into matter,
and as spirit - as He gave - is neither male nor female, they are then both - or one.

And when man had reached that period of the full separation from Creative Forces in the spirit, then flesh as
man knows it today became in material plane a reality.

Then, the immaculate conception is the physical and mental so attuned to spirit as to be quickened by same.

Hence the spirit, the soul of the Master then was brought into being through the accord of the Mother in
materiality that ye know in the earth as conception.

(Q) Explain the relationship of the Wise Men and Jesus' birth?
(A) As indicated by the travels of the Master during the periods of preparation, the whole earth, the whole
world looked for, sought the closer understanding.

Hence through the efforts of the students of the various phases of experiences of man in the earth, as may be
literally interpreted from the first chapters of Genesis, ye find that those that subdued - not that were ruled by,
but subdued the understandings of that in the earth - were considered, or were in the position of the wise, or
the sages, or the ones that were holy; in body and mind, in accord with purposes.

Hence we find the Wise Men as those that were seekers for the truth, for this happening; and in and through
the application of those forces - as ye would term today psychic - we find them coming to the place "where the
child was." Or they were drawn as those that were giving the thanks for this Gift, this expression of a soul
seeking to show wayward man back to God.

So they represent in the metaphysical sense the three phases of man's experience in materiality; gold, the
material; frankincense, the ether or ethereal; myrrh, the healing force as brought with same; or body, mind,
soul.

These were the positions then of the Wise Men in their relationship, or to put into the parlance of the day -
they were the encouragement needed for the Mother and those that had nourished, that had cherished this
event in the experience of mankind.

They came during the days of purification, but to be sure only after she was purified were they presented to the
Child.
(Q) What relation did they have with the later travels of Jesus?
(A) As has just been indicated, they represented then the three phases of man's experience as well as the three
phases of the teacher from Egypt, from Persia, from India.

(Q) Did Mary and Joseph have any other children?

(A) James, Jude, and the daughter.

(Q) Does the immaculate conception, as explained, concern the coming of Mary to Anne, or Jesus to Mary?
(A) Of Jesus to Mary.

(Q) Was Mary immaculately conceived?

(A) Mary was immaculately conceived. [See 2067-11, Par. 9-A.]

(Q) How long was the preparation in progress before Mary was chosen?
(A) Three years.

(Q) In what manner was she chosen?

(A) As they walked up the steps!

(Q) Was there any appearance of the angel Gabriel in the home?
(A) In the temple when she was chosen, in the home of Elizabeth when she was made aware of the presence by
being again in the presence of the messenger or forerunner.

Again to Joseph at the time of their union. Again (by Michael) at the time when the edict was given.

We are through for the present.

We would continue.

GC: You will have before you the entity, Thomas Sugrue, present in this room. You will now continue with the
information on the life and history of the Master, beginning now with detail information on the group which
was preparing for the coming of the Christ, giving name of group, names of members who figured prominently
in the active preparation; relating the signs, symbols and visions which indicated to this group that the time was
at hand. You will then answer the questions that may be asked:

EC: Yes, we have the entity here, Thomas Sugrue, with the desire and the purpose for the understanding and
knowledge of the physical experience of the Master's in the earth.

In those days when there had been more and more of the leaders of the peoples in Carmel - the original place
where the school of prophets was established during Elijah's time, Samuel - these were called then Essenes;
and those that were students of what ye would call astrology, numerology, phrenology, and those phases of
that study of the return of individuals - or incarnation.

These were then the reasons that there had been a proclaiming that certain periods were a cycle; and these
had been the studies then of Arestole, Enos, Mathias, Judas, and those that were in the care or supervision of
the school - as you would term.

These having been persecuted by those of the leaders, this first caused that as ye have an interpretation of as
the Sadducees, or "There is no resurrection," or there is no incarnation, which is what it meant in those
periods.

In the lead of these, with those changes that had been as the promptings from the positions of the stars - that
stand as it were in the dividing of the ways between the universal, that is the common vision of the solar
system of the sun, and those from without the spheres - or as the common name, the North Star, as its
variation made for those cycles that would be incoordinant with those changes that had been determined by
some - this began the preparation - for the three hundred years, as has been given, in this period.

Those in charge at the time were Mathias, Enos, Judas.

In these signs then was the new cycle, that as was then - as we have in the astrological - the beginning of the
Piscean age, or that position of the Polar Star or North Star as related to the southern clouds. These made for
the signs, these made for the symbols; as would be the sign as used, the manner of the sign's approach and the
like.

These then were the beginnings, and these were those that were made a part of the studies during that period.

Then there were again those soundings - that is, the approach of that which had been handed down and had
been the experiences from the sages of old - that an angel was to speak. As this occurred when there was the
choosing of the mate that had - as in only the thought of those so close - been immaculately conceived, these
brought to the focal point the preparation of the mother.

Then when there were those periods when there was the dumbness to the priest and he, Zacharias, was slain
for his repeating of same in the hearing of those of his own school, these made for those fears that made the
necessary preparations for the wedding, the preparations for the birth, the preparations for those activities for
the preservation (physically) of the child; or the flight into Egypt.

Ready for questions.

(Q) Is the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church that Mary was without original sin from the moment of her
conception in the womb of Ann, correct?
(A) It would be correct in ANY case. Correct more in this.

For, as for the material teachings of that just referred to, you see: In the beginning Mary was the twin-soul of
the Master in the entrance into the earth!

(Q) Was Ann prepared for her part in the drama as mother of Mary?
(A) Only as in the general, not as specific as Mary after Mary being pointed out.

See, there was no belief in the fact that Ann proclaimed that the child was without father. It's like many
proclaiming today that the Master was immaculately conceived; they say "Impossible!"

They say that it isn't in compliance with the natural law. It IS a natural law, as has been indicated by the
projection of mind into matter and thus making of itself a separation to become encased in same - as man did.

Then, that there has been an encasement was a beginning.

Then there must be an end when this must be or may be broken; and this began at that particular period. Not
the only - this particular period with Ann and then the Master AS the son; but the ONLY begotten of the Father
in the flesh AS a son OF an immaculately conceived daughter! [See 5749-8, Par. R1.]

(Q) Neither Mary nor Jesus, then, had a human father?

(A) Neither Mary nor Jesus had a human father. They were one SOUL so far as the earth is concerned; because
[else] she would not be incarnated in flesh, you see. [See 2067-11, Par. 9-A.]

(Q) How were the maidens selected and by whom?

(A) By all of those who chose to give those that were perfect in body and in mind for the service; and as Ann -
or Anna - gave the same, and in the presentation could not be refused because of the perfectness of body,
though many questioned and produced a division because she proclaimed it had been conceived without
knowing a man.

Thus came the division, yet the others were chosen - each as a representative of the twelve in the various
phases that had been or that had made up Israel - or man.

(Q) How old was Mary at the time she was chosen?
(A) Four; and, as ye would call, between twelve and thirteen when designated as the one chosen by the angel
on the stair.

(Q) Describe the training and preparation of the group of maidens.

(A) Trained as to physical exercise first, trained as to mental exercises as related to chastity, purity, love,
patience, endurance. All of these by what would be termed by many in the present as persecutions, but as tests
for physical and mental strength; and this under the supervision of those that cared for the nourishments by
the protection in the food values. These were the manners and the way they were trained, directed, protected.

(Q) Were they put on special diet?

(A) No wine, no fermented drink ever given. Special foods, yes. These were kept balanced according to that
which had been first set by Aran [Aaron? See Leviticus 10:9 and 11:1--47] and Ra Ta.

(Q) In what manner was Joseph informed of his part in the birth of Jesus?
(A) First by Mathias or Judah. Then as this did not coincide with his own feelings, first in a dream and then the
direct voice.

And whenever the voice, this always is accompanied with odors as well as lights; and oft the description of the
lights is the vision, see?

(Q) Why was he disturbed when Mary became with child while yet a virgin?
(A) Owing to his natural surroundings and because of his advanced age to that of the virgin when she was given;
or as would be termed in the present, because of what people say.
Yet when assured, you see, that this was the divine, not only by his brethren but by the voice and by those
experiences, he knew. For you see there was from the time of the first promise, while she was still yet in
training from the choice, there was a period of some three to four years; yet when he went to claim her as the
bride, at the period of - or between sixteen and seventeen, she was found with child.

(Q) How old was Joseph at the time of the marriage?

(A) Thirty-six.

(Q) How old was Mary at the time of the marriage?

(A) Sixteen.

(Q) At what time after the birth of Jesus did Mary and Joseph take up the normal life of a married couple, and
bring forth the issue called James?
(A) Ten years. Then they came in succession; James, the daughter, Jude.

(Q) Give a detailed description for literary purposes, of the choosing of Mary on the temple steps.
(A) The temple steps - or those that led to the altar, these were called the temple steps.

These were those upon which the sun shone as it arose of a morning when there were the first periods of the
chosen maidens going to the altar for prayer; as well as for the burning of the incense.

On this day, as they mounted the steps all were bathed in the morning sun; which not only made a beautiful
picture but clothed all as in purple and gold.

As Mary reached the top step, then, then there were the thunder and lightning, and the angel led the way,
taking the child by the hand before the altar. This was the manner of choice, this was the showing of the way;
for she led the others on THIS particular day.

(Q) Was this the orthodox Jewish temple or the Essene temple?
(A) The Essenes, to be sure.

Because of the adherence to those visions as proclaimed by Zacharias in the orthodox temple, he (Zacharias)
was slain even with his hands upon the horns of the altar.

Hence these as were being here protected were in Carmel, while Zacharias was in the temple of Jerusalem.

(Q) Was Mary REQUIRED to wait ten years before knowing Joseph?
(A) Only, you see, until Jesus went to be taught by others did the normal or natural associations come; not
required - it was a choice of them both because of their OWN feelings.

But when He was from without the roof and under the protection of those who were the guides (that is, the
priests), these associations began then as normal experiences.

(Q) Were the parents of John the messenger members of the band which prepared for Jesus?
(A) As has just been indicated, Zacharias at first was a member of what you would term the orthodox
priesthood. Mary and Elizabeth were members of the Essenes, you see; and for this very reason Zacharias kept
Elizabeth in the mountains and in the hills. Yet when there was the announcing of the birth and Zacharias
proclaimed his belief, the murder, the death took place.
(Q) Where was the wedding performed? of Mary and Joseph?
(A) In the temple there at Carmel.

(Q) Where did the couple live during the pregnancy?

(A) Mary spent the most of the time in the hills of Judea, portion of the time with Joseph in Nazareth. From
there they went to Bethlehem to be taxed, or to register - as ye would term.

(Q) Who assisted as midwife?

(A) This has been touched upon through these sources; and as the daughter of the Innkeeper and those about
assisted and aided, these have seen the glory, much, in their experiences.

(Q) Do we celebrate Christmas at approximately the right time?

(A) Not a great variation, for there having been the many changes in the accounting of time, or accounting for
the periods from the various times when time is counted - not far wrong - twenty-fourth, twenty-fifth of
December, as ye have your time now.

(Q) Who were the parents of Joseph?

(A) That as recorded by Matthew, as is given, you see; one side recorded by Matthew, the other by Luke - these
on various sides but of the house of David, as was also Mary of the house of David.

(Q) Were Mary and Joseph known to each other socially before the choosing for them to be man and wife?
(A) As would be chosen in a lodge, not as ye would term of visitations; neither as only chosen by the sect or the
families. In those periods most of the Jewish families, the arrangements were made by the parents of the
contracting parties, you see; while in this - these were not as contracting parties from their families.

For Ann and her daughter were questioned as to belonging to any, you see!

Then it was not a choice altogether as that they were appointed by the leaders of the sect or of the group or of
the lodge or of the church; for this is the church that is called the Catholic now - and is the closest.

These were kept then in that way of choice between them, and choice as pointed out by the divine forces.

We are through for the present.

GC: You will have before you the period of the life of the Master as Jesus in Palestine, especially as related to
incident of the woman taken in adultery, John 8:3-11; in which Jesus asked the one without sin to cast the first
stone and then stooped and wrote on the ground. Also consider in relation to this the information given
through this channel for [295] on August 31, 1933 describing this incident and also the information given for
[1436] on August 30, 1937 which seems to describe the same incident. Please clarify this seeming duplication.
Answer questions.

EC: Yes, we have the period that is indicated in the experience of the earth, of the temple, of the peoples; and
that as related to the individuals whose experiences were in that portion of that period.

In the interpretations, all the conditions that surrounded the period should be taken into consideration.

The variations in those particular incidents are apparently the same, yet the individuality is different in the two
incidents.

Those were periods when there were those who questioned the Master as in the sect of the Pharisees. There
were those who questioned when they were led by the Sadducees. There were others when questioned by
those in the Roman authority.

There were, then, two individual experiences when He was questioned as to the law as related to that given by
Moses respecting those taken in adultery.

The one about which the first information was given was the associate of John and James; while the last one
was the associate of the Roman soldiery. And the questions in each instance were by the different sects of
peoples.

These are overlapping in the records that are given (or that you have); though in the original they are given as
two different experiences.

Ready for questions.

(Q) Which one was [1436]?

(A) The one taken in the act with the Roman soldiery, and questioned by the Sadducee peoples; while the other
[295] was the sister of Martha, and hence the associate (or cohort) of those that were the disciples or Apostles
later.

(Q) In which instance did Jesus stoop and write?

(A) In each; in each of these. In one that written was as given, "Medi (?) Medici (?) [Cui?]" or the expression of
mercy and not sacrifice which showed to those that looked on the individual awakening of the entity. In the
other that written was that which made the accusers recognize their OWN activities.

(Q) Is there any other history of the period that we may have at this point?
(A) Which portion is sought? We have most all of it here! Most any portion may be given!

The incident about which the last information was given, [1436] through this channel, occurred AFTER there
had been the reuniting of Martha, Lazarus and Mary; while the first incident [295] occurred in the earlier
portions of His ministry.

For as given, the incident of Magdala [295] - or Mary the sister of Martha - occurred when the individual had
set about what would be called now a home for, or a retreat for, those who sought to use and give their bodies
to those activities for the indulgences and for the gaining of information of various sorts or natures through
such activities of the individuals.
But the latter individual, [1436] as we have indicated in that given, was only guilty of SELF indulgence and with
the Romans and not those in authority in the various groups or activities.

We are through for the present.

GC: You will have before you members of the Glad Helpers, and others, present in this room, desirous of a
discourse to be given by the Master Jesus the Christ, Himself, on His Last Week, from the Triumphal Entry into
Jerusalem and including the Resurrection Morn; giving that which will be helpful to the group and to others
through its use in the Association Bulletin. You will then answer any questions which may be asked:

EC: Yes, we have the members present here, and their desire. This may be given by an observer of that period,
in the present.

In considering that which materially passed through the minds of the followers of the Master, Jesus, and those
experiences leading to the way of the Cross: The decisive point in Peraea [?] [Berea?] was the more trying even
than the trial; and then those periods of taking leave after the establishing of the emblems as His body and
blood, as a ritual for those who would honor and bring to remembrance those experiences through which each
soul passes in putting on the whole armor of the Christ. [See 5749-10, Par. R2 verifying Berea.]

In those days preceding the entry into Jerusalem, we find those periods of much disturbance among the
disciples who were of Galilee and those who were of the Judean ministry.

These were in disputations as to what was to take place when He, Jesus, was to go to Jerusalem.

Yet He chose to go, entering through the period of rest at Bethany with Mary, Martha, Lazarus; and THERE the
triumphal entry and the message that was given to those throngs gathered there.

The next period we find in the upper chamber with the disciples, and the humbleness that was manifested.

Though He was their leader, their prophet, their Lord, their Master, He signified - through the humbleness of
the act - the attitude to which each would come if he would know that true relationship with his God, his fellow
man.

Those periods in the garden, - these become that in which the great trial is shown, and the seeming
indifference and the feeling of the loss of one in whom trust and hope had been given; and the fulfilling of all
that had been in the purpose and the desire in the entrance into the world.

The trial, - this was not with the pangs of pain as so oft indicated, but rather glorying in the opportunity of
taking upon self that which would RIGHT man's relationship to the Father, - in that man, through his free will,
had brought sin into the activities of the children of God. Here HIS SON was bringing redemption through the
shedding of blood that they might be free.

Here the law of love, of causation, of mercy, of justice, of all that makes for self becoming in the at-onement
relationship, of filling the purposes for which one is called in materiality, becomes the activity of Him that is free
indeed.

Thus in the hour of sacrifice, material, mental and spiritual relationships are attained and considered in His
every word.

In those periods of transition from "It is finished," comes that which is to each heart the determination that it,
too, may know the blessed hope that comes in seeing, knowing, experiencing the Cross in the heart, the body,
the mind.

The period of resurrection, - here we find that in which ye ALL may glory. For without the fact of His overcoming
death, the whole of the experience would have been as naught.

Then may ye as seekers of the way, may ye that have come seeking to know, to experience, to FEEL that
presence of the Christ-Consciousness within thine own breast, within thine own experience, OPEN the door of
thy heart!

For He stands ready to enter, to those who will bid Him enter.

He comes not unbidden, but as ye seek ye find; as ye knock it is opened. As ye live the life is the awareness of
His closeness, of His presence, thine.

Then, again as He gave, "Love ye one another," thus fulfilling ALL that is in the purpose of His entrance into
materiality; to replace hate and jealousy and those things that make one afraid, with love and hope and joy.

So be ye then as His children, - those that show joy and gladness in the lives, the experiences, the hearts, the
minds of those ye meet day by day; thus becoming indeed brethren with Him, in that He gave Himself as a
ransom for all, that whosoever will may take THEIR cross and THROUGH Him know the joy of entering into that
realm of replacing jealousy and hate and selfishness with love and with joy and with gladness.

Be ye glad. Be ye joyous when those things come to be thy lot that should or would disturb the material-
minded. Like Him, look up, lift up thy heart, thy mind unto the Giver of all good and perfect gifts; and cry aloud
even as He, "My God, my God! Be Thou near unto me!"

In this, as ye raise then thy voice to Him, ye may be sure He will answer, "Here am I - be not afraid. For as the
Father hath sent me, so come I into thy heart and life to bring gladness, that there may be life more abundant
in thy experience."

Then, be ye GLAD in Him.

Ready for questions.

(Q) Please explain John 19:34, " - forthwith came out blood and water."
(A) The fulfilling of "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins." Hence His blood was shed as
the sacrifice of the just for the unjust, that ye all may stand in the same light with the Father.

(Q) What changes had to take place in the physical body of Jesus to become a glorified spiritual body?
(A) The passing of the material life into the spiritual life brought the GLORIFIED body; thus enabling the
PERFECT body to be materialized in material life - a GLORIFIED body made perfect!

(Q) What was the form that seemed to be made up of light, that appeared [to me, Florence Edmonds] in the
room at the close of the meditation preceding this Reading, and the meaning of same?
(A) The attuning of self to the high vibrations of love and life and joy, - and is but that which heals and keeps
peace among men.

(Q) Please explain: "He breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost."
(A) That change of doubt and fear which arose in the minds and hearts of those gathered in that room. For the
fear of the interpreting of the phenomenon being experienced, He breathed. As the breath of life was breathed
into the body of the man, see, so breathed He that of love and hope into the experience of those who were to
become witnesses of Him in the material world.

(Q) John 21:25. Does this verse have reference to the beginning as Adam?
(A) In the same manner of beginning, yes.

(Q) Who were the women at the Cross?

(A) Many were there. Those of his own household, Mary Magdalene, the mother of John and James, and those
who were of that whole group were among the women at the Cross.

(Q) Are any of the women here (in this room) who were at the Cross?
(A) Two.

(Q) Who is giving this discourse?

(A) Are ye curious? Are ye serious? Look within self.

We are through.

GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of Thomas Sugrue, present in this room, who seeks
at this time guidance and advice concerning his mind and the works of writing it is preparing to do. You will
answer the questions he may ask concerning same.

EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, Thomas Sugrue, present in this room. Ready for questions.

(Q) Please examine and criticize the outline for "There Is A River", held in my hand. [See 5749-11, Par. R1.]
(A) As to the outline, it is, as we find, very good. However, we would give that the air [deportment, mien,
manner, pervading influence, etc.], the purpose in writing such data, should be kept - more than the outline
here indicates - in that same tone, or tension, as indicated in the preface [See 5749-11, Par. B1].

That is, - EVER the question, yet indicating from every phase of the experiences the hope, the help, the activity
created in the mind, the experience, of the individuals so treated or suggested to.

And in the end, not so much data as proofs, but the character of each varied phase of human experience
indicated, - as to the types of varied conditions through which help and aid and hope came.

Then, - saying rather the number, or the approximate number of each character of individual help given, with
the assertion of how many proofs are in hand; still the questioning to the end.

That the data as presented may not be just another set of experiences, stress throughout rather the hope, the
help, the desire, the activity created, - in the same manner as indicated in the preface.

(Q) How should the Texas and hospital periods of this story be handled?
(A) In the same manner of the questioning, as to the desires of individuals with ideas, without the ideal, - which
IS the song or the text of the whole presentation; that those seeking must have an ideal, and an attunement to
purpose, hope, and SINCERITY!

(Q) Should an appendix consisting of readings, letters, affidavits, photographs and other such evidence be
added?
(A) As just given, indicate that such are available, but with the question, and with the pointing to the data as a
hopeful experience of the seeker.

Much of that same air that is presented, indicated, in the manner in which there is the seeking from one or the
many, or the all who have a faith, a hope, grounded in that of SPIRITUALITY, - not isms of any nature; and what
that presented by students, seekers, laymen, physicians of any and every school, creates in the mind. As is
presented in Father McLaughlin.

(Q) Should the manuscript be submitted to this source at various stages of its completion, or only when it is
done?
(A) This should be RATHER the decision of the writer, as to whether there are the needs for assurance.

In the mind, this given is taking shape. Use it in that manner as would be expected of, or is counseled to others
who would seek aid.

For in the presenting, there will be many individual instances where first the confusion will be indicated, or
curiosity, yet an atom of hope; and then, little by little, the awakening to the possibilities of self receiving that
necessary impetus to become aware of that presence which may abide in all. This should be done without
becoming too much of a philosophizing from an eccleiastical manner, but just that expressed in "A new
commandment I give, that ye love one another."

So in the seeking for SELF, in the handling of the subject, or the data, use same just in the manner ye would
indicate for others to do.

(Q) Should this be written now, in preference to the book "The Coming Age of Faith In America"? [See 5749-11,
Par. R2.]
(A) As we find, this written now may aid the entity in attaining the better concept of a presentation of the
coming age; as, such as may be presented IS a key to such.

(Q) Please examine the outline of projects for the American Magazine, held in my hand, and advise me which it
would be best to push at this time?
(A) We find that these each have their place in the experiences of individuals in the present. But rather be
guided by that impulse, that intuitive force, that spirit of desire to present each phase in the way and manner
as it presents itself.

(Q) Can any criticism be given on the completed manuscript of the novel, "First Communion"? [See 5749-11,
Par. R3.]
(A) As from the mind of the individual, the entity, the writer here, - the only criticism would appear from some
confusion in the continuity of the experiences of the individual characters. But as a whole, with some deletions
as will appear, this is good.

(Q) What publisher would be best for this work?

(A) This as we find will be sought by more than one. Let it pass through the channels that are opened for such in
the present. But do NOT accept Simon & Shuster's offer.

(Q) In seeking to make himself a channel for the expression of truth in song and story, is the entity now working
in the right direction?
(A) HOLD FAST to that thou hast in hope, in faith, in purpose, - and ye will feel and see and know that He is
pleased with thy efforts.

We are through.

SUBJECT:Jesus:resurrection

GC: On this Easter day of 1940 we seek a discourse on the significance of the Resurrection of Jesus, the Christ.

EC: In giving that as might be significant in the experiences of those present, it is well that there be considered
those conditions which exist in the world of thought, as well as in the political and economic situations
throughout the world, - if there is to be a practical application of the significance of the resurrection of Jesus,
the Christ.

The life, the death, the resurrection of Jesus are as facts, in the hearts and minds of those here. The
resurrection of Jesus, the Christ, is a significant fact to each individual only according to how he applies same
(as it is significant to him) in his daily life, experience and conversation with his fellow man.

Then, in a material world, - a world of hate, of divided opinions, - what is the course that you each will pursue,
in relationships to your fellow men?
Is it the course outlined by the tenets, the principles which He, the Teacher of teachers gave as respecting the
manner of life, of activity, that you each would give in your dealings and relationships with your fellow men?

We know, and only need to be reminded, that the whole law is in Him. For, as He gave that which is the basis,
the principle, of the intent and desire and purpose which should prompt our activity, so we in our own world, -
as we live, as we speak, as we pray, - are to let it be in that tempo, in that way and manner which was prompted
by Him, as He taught His disciples how to pray.

Then, as we analyze this prayer in our experience, we see what the life, the death, the resurrection of Jesus, the
Christ, - who is the way, the truth, the light, - must mean in this period in the experience of man.

Think not that He, God, will be mocked. For, whatsoever a man soweth, that must he also reap. This was truly
exemplified in the life of the Man of Galilee. For, in Him we all live, we all move, we all die. So, in Him we are all
made alive.

Then:

Put away hate, malice, jealousy, or the taking sides with any that stir up strife.

Be ye rather on the Lord's side, - knowing that no man is in any position of power or might save by the will of
the Father, that there may be fulfilled that which has been promised of Him, by Him, and through that advent
of the man Jesus into a material world.

Then, as ye meditate upon the meaning of the resurrection of this man of God, - know that the way is open to
thee to approach the throne of God; not as an excuse, not as a justification, but rather in love, in harmony, in
that which brings hope for a sin-sick world.

Each individual, then, may act, may live, may pray - in his or her own little sphere of activity - in such a manner
as to bring peace and harmony, even among those who APPEAR to be at variance to the cause of the Christ in
the material world.

Let not thy heart be troubled, then. Ye believe in God; believe also in Him, - who came to bring peace, and the
way to the Father, exemplifying same in the ability to take away death - that is as sin in the experience of man.

And thus may he (man) indeed love the Lord with all his heart, and his neighbor as himself.

We are through.

GC: You will have before you the desire of those present here to secure at this time an Easter message which
may be an inspiration and a help to those to whom it is presented. You will consider the intention of those
present to pass this discourse on to others, and give that which will be most helpful now.
EC: In man's experience in the earth there comes those periods of doubt and fear, and of the loss of hope. Then
to all such there should be the reminding of that Easter Morn; and as to what it has meant and does mean in
the hearts and minds of those who have and do put their trust in Jesus, the Christ.

There should be the reminding that - though He bowed under the burden of the Cross, though His blood was
shed, though He entered into the tomb - through that power, that ability, that love as manifested in Himself
among His fellow men He broke the bonds of death; proclaiming in that act that THERE IS NO DEATH when the
individual, the soul, has and does put its trust in Him.

Thus in this hour of despair throughout the world, when those activities are such as to indicate hate, injustice,
tyranny, desire to enslave or to impel others to submit to the dictates of this or that power, - let all take heart
and know that this, too, as the hour upon Calvary, must pass away; and that as upon the wings of the morning
there comes that new hope, that new desire, to the hearts and minds of all who seek to know His face.

This must begin within thine own heart.

Then, let all so examine their hearts and minds as to put away doubt and fear; putting away hate and malice,
jealousy and those things that cause man to err. Replace these with the desire to help, with hope, with the
willingness to divide self and self's surroundings with those who are less fortunate; putting on the whole armor
of God - in righteousness.

Magnify in the daily life the fruit of the spirit of truth, that all may take hold and make for that activity in their
lives; knowing that as ye do it unto the least of thy brethren ye do it to thy Maker.

Meditate oft upon what it has meant, does mean today, to CRUCIFY the Lord thy God in thy daily experiences.
Rather magnify, glorify Him in every word, every activity, in all thy dealings with thy fellow man. By thy very
step, by thy very look, by thy word, create HOPE in the hearts, minds and lives of others.

Make it SURE in thy OWN heart, for there - to thee - is the beginning and the end. For He is mindful of thee, and
He has promised that whosoever will may come and take of the cup that He partook of; that through Him we
may be SURE in OUR hopes, OUR responses to the needs of the world at this sad changing hour.

Let that mind ever be in thee as was in Him as He offered Himself up: "Father, forgive them - they know not
what they do. Father, it is finished - I come to thee. Give Thou thy servant that glory which Thou hast
promised."

Live that in thy life, thy conversation, thy activity everywhere; and indeed then may each in that manner bear a
real Easter message to others.

For He hath entrusted to thee - those that love Him - the redemption of the world, to make known His
willingness, His care, His promises that may be the activity of each and every soul.

Then, let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God - believe in Him, who has promised that "If ye will love
me and keep my commandments, I will come and abide with thee - for, Lo, I am with thee always."

His commandments are not grievous; just being kind, just being patient, just being longsuffering with thy
problems, thy turmoils, thy strifes.
Through that ability to make Himself one with the Father, He has gained that right, that honor to declare
Himself unto as many as will harken.

Let thy light, then, shine ever in the dark, in the light; in the sorrow, in the gladness of thy purpose, of thy
desire; that He may be glorified even as He asks of the Father.

Ye - each of ye, as individuals - may do this. So ye, as ye come into His presence, may be given "Well done, thou
good and faithful brother - enter into the joy of thy Lord."

We are through for the present.

HLC: You will have before you the enquiring mind of the entity, Thomas Sugrue, present in this room, and
certain of the problems which confront him in composing the manuscript of THERE IS A RIVER.

The entity is now ready to describe the philosophical concepts which have been given through this source, and
wishes to parallel and align them with known religious tenets, especially those of Christian theology.

The entity does not wish to set forth a system of thought, nor imply that all questions of a philosophical nature
can be answered through this source - the limitations of the finite mind prevent this.

But the entity wishes to answer those questions which will naturally arise in the mind of the reader, and many
of the questions which are being asked by all people in the world today.

Therefore the entity presents certain problems and questions, which you will answer as befits the entity's
understanding and the task of interpretation before him.

EC: Yes, we have the enquiring mind, Thomas Sugrue, and those problems, those questions that arise in the
mind of the entity at this period. Ready for questions.

(Q) The first problem concerns the reason for creation.

Should this be given as God's desire to experience Himself, God's desire for companionship, God's desire for
expression, or in some other way?
(A) God's desire for companionship and expression.

(Q) The second problem concerns that which is variously called evil, darkness, negation, sin.

Should it be said that this condition existed as a necessary element of creation, and the soul, given free will,
found itself with the power to indulge in it, or lose itself in it?

Or should it be said that this is a condition created by the activity of the soul itself?
Should it be described, in either case, as a state of consciousness, a gradual lack of awareness of self and self's
relation to God?
(A) It is the free will and its losing itself in its relationship to God.

(Q) The third problem has to do with the fall of man.

Should this be described as something which was inevitable in the destiny of souls, or something which God
did not desire, but which He did not prevent once He had given free will?

The problem here is to reconcile the omniscience of God and His knowledge of all things with the free will of
the soul and the soul's fall from grace.
(A) He did not prevent, once having given free will.

For, He made the individual entities or souls in the beginning.

For, the beginnings of sin, of course, were in seeking expression of themselves outside of the plan or the way in
which God had expressed same. Thus it was the individual, see?

Having given free will, then, - though having the foreknowledge, though being omnipotent and omnipresent, - it
is only when the soul that is a portion of God CHOOSES that God knows the end thereof.

(Q) The fourth problem concerns man's tenancy on earth.

Was it originally intended that souls remain out of earthly forms, and were the races originated as a necessity
resulting from error?
(A) The earth and its manifestations were only the expression of God and not necessarily as a place of tenancy
for the souls of men, until man was created - to meet the needs of existing conditions.

(Q) The fifth problem concerns an explanation of the Life Readings. From a study of these it seems that there is
a trend downward, from early incarnations, toward greater earthliness and less mentality. Then there is a swing
upward, accompanied by suffering, patience, and understanding. Is this the normal pattern, which results in
virtue and oneness with God obtained by free will and mind?
(A) This is correct. It is the pattern as it is set in Him.

(Q) The sixth problem concerns interplanetary and inter-system dwelling, between earthly lives. It was given
through this source that the entity Edgar Cayce, after the experience as Uhjltd, went to the system of Arcturus,
and then returned to earth. Does this indicate a usual or an unusual step in soul evolution?
(A) As indicated, or as has been indicated in other sources besides this as respecting this very problem, -
Arcturus is that which may be called the center of this universe, through which individuals pass and at which
period there comes the choice of the individual as to whether it is to return to complete there - that is, in this
planetary system, our sun, the earth sun and its planetary system - or to pass on to others. This was an unusual
step, and yet a usual one.

(Q) The seventh problem concerns implications from the sixth problem. Is it necessary to finish the solar system
cycle before going to other systems?
(A) Necessary to finish the solar cycle.
(Q) Can oneness be attained - or the finish of evolution reached - on any system, or must it be in a particular
one?
(A) Depending upon what system the entity has entered, to be sure. It may be completed in any of the many
systems.

(Q) Must the solar cycle be finished on earth, or can it be completed on another planet, or does each planet
have a cycle of its own which must be finished?
(A) If it is begun on the earth it must be finished on the earth. The solar system of which the earth is a part is
only a portion of the whole. For, as indicated in the number of planets about the earth, they are of one and the
same - and they are relative one to another. It is the cycle of the whole system that is finished, see?

(Q) The eighth problem concerns the pattern made by parents at conception. Should it be said that this pattern
attracts a certain soul because it approximates conditions which that soul wishes to work with?
(A) It approximates conditions. It does not set. For, the individual entity or soul, given the opportunity, has its
own free will to work in or out of those problems as presented by that very union. Yet the very union, of course,
attracts or brings a channel or an opportunity for the expression of an individual entity.

(Q) Does the incoming soul take on of necessity some of the parents' karma?
(A) Because of its relative relationship to same, yes.

Otherwise, no.

(Q) Does the soul itself have an earthly pattern which fits back into the one created by the parents?
(A) Just as indicated, it is relative - as one related to another; and because of the union of activities they are
brought in the pattern. For in such there is the explanation of universal or divine laws, which are ever one and
the same; as indicated in the expression that God moved within Himself and then He didn't change, though did
bring to Himself that of His own being made crucified even in the flesh.

(Q) Are there several patterns which a soul might take on, depending on what phase of development it wished
to work upon - i.e., could a soul choose to be one of several personalities, any of which would fit its
individuality?
(A) Correct.

(Q) Is the average fulfillment of the soul's expectation more or less than fifty percent?
(A) It's a continuous advancement, so it is more than fifty percent.

(Q) Are hereditary, environment and will equal factors in aiding or retarding the entity's development?
(A) Will is the greater factor, for it may overcome any or all of the others; provided that will is made one with
the pattern, see?

For, no influence of heredity, environment or what not, surpasses the will; else why would there have been that
pattern shown in which the individual soul, no matter how far astray it may have gone, may enter with Him into
the holy of holies?

(Q) The ninth problem concerns the proper symbols, or similes, for the Master, the Christ. Should Jesus be
described as the soul who first went through the cycle of earthly lives to attain perfection, including perfection
in the planetary lives also?
(A) He should be. This is as the man, see?

(Q) Should this be described as a voluntary mission One Who was already perfected and returned to God,
having accomplished His Oneness in other planes and systems?
(A) Correct.

(Q) Should the Christ-Consciousness be described as the awareness within each soul, imprinted in pattern on
the mind and waiting to be awakened by the will, of the soul's oneness with God?
(A) Correct. That's the idea exactly!

(Q) Please list the names of the incarnations of the Christ, and of Jesus, indicating where the development of
the man Jesus began.
(A) First, in the beginning, of course; and then as Enoch, Melchizedek, in the perfection. Then in the earth of
Joseph, Joshua, Jeshua, Jesus.

(Q) The tenth problem concerns the factors of soul evolution. Should mind, the builder, be described as the last
development because it should not unfold until it has a firm foundation of emotional virtues?
(A) This might be answered Yes and No, both. But if it is presented in that there is kept, willfully, see, that desire
to be in the at-onement, then it is necessary for that attainment before it recognizes mind as the way.

(Q) The eleventh problem concerns a parallel with Christianity. Is Gnosticism the closest type of Christianity to
that which is given through this source?
(A) This is a parallel, and was the commonly accepted one until there began to be set rules in which there were
the attempts to take short cuts. And there are none in Christianity!

(Q) What action of the early church, or council, can be mentioned as that which ruled reincarnation from
Christian theology?
(A) Just as indicated, - the attempts of individuals to accept or take advantage of, because of this knowledge,
see?

(Q) Do souls become entangled in other systems as they did in this system?
(A) In other systems that represent the same as the earth does in this system, yes.

(Q) Is there any other advice which may be given to this entity at this time in the preparation of these chapters?
(A) Hold fast to that ideal, and using Him ever as the Ideal. And hold up that NECESSITY for each to meet the
same problems. And DO NOT attempt to shed or to surpass or go around the Cross. THIS is that upon which
each and every soul MUST look and know it is to be borne in self WITH Him.

We are through for the present.

SUBJECT:Jesus:birth

GC: You will have before you the enquiring mind of the entity Thomas Sugrue, present in this room, who seeks a
continuation of information given on the life of the Master and its history in the material world, given in
Readings of June 27, 1937 [5749-7 and 5749-8].

Because of the purpose for which this information is to be used, he asks at this time for a description of a
literary nature of certain events in the life of the Master which are known to us in outline but not in detail.

You will give these as presented, - first the birth of the Master at Bethlehem beginning with the arrival of Mary
and Joseph at the Inn. You will include such details as weather, time, conversation with Inn Keeper, number of
people at the Inn, types they represented, recreations and occupations engaged in during the evening, what
was being eaten and drunk, whether the guests knew the Child was being born, actual time of birth, etc.

EC: Yes, we have the information that has been indicated respecting some of the events surrounding the birth
of Jesus, the son of Mary, in Bethlehem of Judea.

The purposes are well known, for which the journey was made in the period. The activities of Joseph are well
known. The variation or difference in their ages is not so oft dealt upon. Neither is there much indicated in
sacred or profane history as to the preparation of the mother for that channel through which immaculate
conception might take place. And this, the immaculate conception, is a stumblingstone to many worldly-wise.

The arrival was in the evening, - not as counted from the Roman time, nor that declared to Moses by God when
the second passover was to be kept, nor that same time which was in common usage even in that land, but
what would NOW represent January sixth.

The weather was cool, and there were crowds on the way. For, it was only a sabbath day's journey from
Jerusalem. There were great crowds of people on the way from the hills of Judea.

The people were active in the occupations of the varied natures in that unusual land. Some were carpenters, -
as those of the house of Joseph, who had been delayed, even on the journey, by the condition of the Mother.
Some in the group were helpers to Joseph, - carpenters' helpers. Then there were shepherds, husbandmen, and
the varied groups that had their small surroundings as necessitated by the conditions of the fields about
Nazareth.

In the evening then, or at twilight, Joseph approached the Inn, that was filled with those who had also
journeyed there on their way to be polled for the tax as imposed by the Romans upon the people of the land.
For, those had been sent out who were to judge the abilities of the varied groups to be taxed. And each
individual was required by the Roman law to be polled in the city of his birth.

Both Joseph and Mary were members of the sect called the Essenes; and thus they were questioned by those
not only in the political but in the religious authority in the cities.

Then there was the answer by the inn keeper, "No room in the inn," especially for such an occasion. Laughter
and jeers followed, at the sight of the elderly man with the beautiful girl, his wife, heavy with child.

Disappointments were written upon not only the face of Joseph but the inn keeper's daughter, as well as those
of certain groups about the inn. For, many saw the possibilities of an unusual story that might be gained if the
birth were to take place in the inn. Also there was consternation outside, among those who had heard that
Joseph and Mary had arrived and were not given a room. They began to seek some place, some shelter.

For, remember, many of those - too - were of that questioned group; who had heard of that girl, that lovely wife
of Joseph who had been chosen by the angels on the stair; who had heard of what had taken place in the hills
where Elizabeth had gone, when there was the visit from the cousin - and as to those things which had also
come to pass in her experience. Such stories were whispered from one to another.

Thus many joined in the search for some place. Necessity demanded that some place be sought - quickly. Then
it was found, under the hill, in the stable - above which the shepherds were gathering their flocks into the fold.

There the Savior, the Child was born; who, through the will and the life manifested, became the Savior of the
world - that channel through which those of old had been told that the promise would be fulfilled that was
made to EVE; the arising again of another like unto Moses; and as given to David, the promise was not to depart
from that channel. But lower and lower man's concept of needs had fallen.

Then, - when hope seemed gone, - the herald angels sang. The star appeared, that made the wonderment to
the shepherds, that caused the awe and consternation to all of those about the Inn; some making fun, some
smitten with conviction that those unkind things said must needs be readjusted in their relationships to things
coming to pass.

All were in awe as the brightness of His star appeared and shone, as the music of the spheres brought that
joyful choir, "PEACE ON EARTH! GOOD WILL TO MEN OF GOOD FAITH."

ALL felt the vibrations and saw a great light, - not only the shepherds above that stable but those in the Inn as
well.

To be sure, those conditions were later to be dispelled by the doubters, who told the people that they had been
overcome with wine or what not.

Just as the midnight hour came, there was the birth of the Master.

The daughter of the inn keeper was soon upon the scene, as was the mother of the daughter, and the
shepherds that answered the cry - and had gone to see what was come to pass.

Those were the manners, and the ones present soon afterwards.

For, through the period of purification the Mother remained there, not deeming it best to leave, though all
forms of assistance were offered; not leaving until there was the circumcision and the presenting in the temple
to the magi, to Anna and to Simeon.

Such were the surroundings at the period of the birth of Jesus.

(Q) The first recorded miracle at the wedding in Cana of Galilee when the Master changed water into wine. The
entity desires again such details as weather, names of people in wedding, food and drink, games and dances,
etc.
(A) A great deal of that leading to the experience, to be sure, is being skipped over. For, that came about soon
after the return of the Master from the Jordan, and his dwelling by the sea, his conversation with Peter - after
Andrew had told Peter of the happenings at the Jordan; and there was the wedding in Cana of Galilee.

The girl was a relative of those close to the Mother of Jesus, who prepared the wedding feast - as was the
custom in that period, and is yet among those of the Jewish faith who adhere to the traditions as well as
custom of those people chosen as the channel because of their purpose with God.

The girl to be wed was a daughter of the cousin of Mary, a daughter of a younger sister of Elizabeth, whose
name was also Mary. And she was the one spoken of as "the other Mary," and not as some have supposed. [See
2946-3 on 6/18/43 verifying this.]

The customs required that there be a feast, which was composed of the roasted lamb with the herbs, the
breads that had been prepared in the special ways as were the custom and tradition of those who followed
close to the faith in Moses' law, Moses' custom, Moses' ordinances.

The families of Mary were present, as well as those of the groom.

The groom, in the name Roael, was among the sons of Zebedee; being an elder brother of James and John who
later became the close friends and the closer followers of Jesus.

The Master, returning with those who were hangers-on, naturally sought to speak with His mother. Learning of
this happening He, too, with the followers, were bid to remain at the feast.

Much wine also was part of the custom. The day was what ye would call June third. There were plenty of
flowers and things of the field, yet only a part of those things needed.

For, the custom called for more of the meats prepared with certain herbs, and wines.

The day had been fine; the evening was fair; the moon was full. This then brought the activities with the
imbibing more and more of wine, more hilarity, and the dance - which was in the form of the circles that were a
part of the customs, not only of that land then but that are in your own land now and then being revived.

With those activities, as indicated, the wine ran low.

Remember, the sons of Zebedee were among those of the upper class, as would be termed; not the poorer
ones. Thence the reason why Mary served or prepared for her relative the feast.

From those happenings that were a portion of her experience upon their return from Egypt, - as to how the
increase had come in the food when they had been turned aside as they journeyed back towards the Promised
Land, - Mary felt, knew, was convinced within herself that here again there might be such an experience, with
her son returning as a man starting upon his mission.

For, what was the pronouncement to the mother when Gabriel spoke to her? What was the happening with
Elizabeth when the mother spoke to her?

This might be called a first period of test. For, had He not just ten days ago sent Satan away, and received
ministry from the angels?

This had come to be known as hearsay. Hence the natural questioning of the mother-love for the purposes; this
son - strange in many ways had chosen, by the dwelling in the wilderness for the forty days, and then the
returning to the lowly people, the fishermen, about this country.

It brought on the questioning by the mother.

We are through for the present.

GC: You will have before you the Glad Helpers Prayer Group, members of which are present in this room, who
seek a continuation of information given through this channel on the life of the Master and its history in the
material world.

You will give a description of certain events in the life of the Master, particularly the healings of the Master.

You will answer the questions that may be asked.

EC: Yes, we have the group as gathered here, as a group and as individuals; their purposes, their aims.

In interpreting the life of the Master, Jesus, - as has been indicated, His birth, His advent into the material world
brought satisfaction, and yet consternation to the many.

This was indicated a few months afterward, when - with the return of the Mother and Joseph to Nazareth -
there was the edict that all children up to two years of age were to be destroyed. Indeed did Rachel weep for
her sons.

Through the experience, though, as has been indicated, there were those precautions. There was that journey
into Egypt, which is recorded in the varied manners in Matthew and in Luke. To many there might be
questionings as to whether Mary was informed of the necessity for the flight, or merely Joseph - as Matthew
records. However, as we find, they were of one mind, and the flight into Egypt - as is recorded - was the fulfilling
of the prophecy. For, it had been said, "and my son shall be called from Egypt."

The period of stay in Egypt was something over two and one-half years - until another ruler was in authority or
power. Then there was the return.

Through that period there were many of the stories that have come down as legends, even of those people in
some portions of Egypt and of Arabia, as to the happenings along the way, as to how there were the unusual
happenings - indicating not only the divinity of the Child but that purpose later recorded, "And she kept all of
these and pondered them in her heart."

After the journey to Jerusalem, there were the periods of education in Syria, India, the completing again of the
activities in Egypt; and the passing of the tests there by those who were of the Essene group, as they entered
into the service - as did the Master and John before Him.

As to the healings, the miracles performed by the Master, - of course, the first recorded begins with that in
Capernaum, or in Cana and nigh unto Capernaum, when He had so recently returned from the wilderness - or
the visit to John - when the water was turned into wine.

Then there was the healing of Simon Peter's wife's mother, of a fever. It was one of the few instances where
healings were performed among His own people, among His own kindred.

Some might easily ask the question: If He were the healer, why was it necessary that Joseph pass away?

Did the Master come to be about HIS work or His Father's work?

As individuals, as representatives of the Master, as brothers, as heirs with Him, do we go about our Father's
work or our work? There is the variation.

Respecting the miracles of healing, there were many instances where individual healings were of the nature as
to be instantaneous, - as that when He said to him sick of the palsy, "Son, thy sins be forgiven thee."

When the questionings came (as He knew they would), He answered "Which is it easier to say, Thy sins be
forgiven thee, or Arise, take up thy bed and go unto thine house?" IMMEDIATELY the man arose, took up his
bed and WENT unto his house!

Here we find that it was not by the command, but by His own personage. For, the question was not as to
whether He healed but as to whether He had the power to forgive sin! The recognition was that sin had caused
the physical disturbance.

Then, these are part of the experiences of each and every soul in their search for, in their relationships with
their fellow man.

Ye may ask, does this apply in the present? "In Him ye live, ye move, ye have thy being - If ye love me, saith the
Master, ye will keep my commandments. My commandments are not grievous; my commandment is that ye
love one another, even as I have loved you. If ye love me, I - and the Father - will come and ABIDE with thee."

Believe ye His words?

Just as experienced by those who stood about the grave of him, the brother of those whom the Lord loved, -
when He spoke, death itself gave up that it had claimed, even though the sister had warned that there had not
been the embalming as had been the purposes of many. Instantly the activity brought life.

For He IS life. He IS health, He IS beauty, He IS - not was, not will be, but IS! For He having overcome death, hell
and the grave, He is justified before God in giving to him who believes, who is in accord; that "If ye ask in my
name, believing," doing, being that ye ask for, that shall be done unto thee.

Yet with the breaking of the bonds of death, the breaking of the material bonds - the binding about the head -
must needs be done by others.

There is ever, then - in thy material associations, in thy seeking for help, love, health, understanding for thy
brother - SOMETHING, some effort on their part as well as THINE. But "Where two or three are gathered
together in my name, there will I be in the midst of them."

These are the influences that all must realize, if they would understand, if they would comprehend, if they
would contemplate, if they would seek - that ye cannot give that which ye do not possess.

If ye have that love in the Christ, in the giving ye have the more; even as He demonstrated in the giving of life
that ye might have life more abundantly,

that there might be a closer walk with Him. And as ye walk, ye talk with Him, He talks with thee.

"Be not afraid, it is I." Has this come to thee?

Has it not oft been thy experience and ye, in thy doubt, in thy fear of being in His presence, have turned away?

"Inasmuch as ye do it unto the least of thy brethren ye do it unto me."

This is for each of you.

This is thy Lord, as He would approach thee, that ye in thy grace, in thy love, thy mercy as thou showest to thy
brother, may find that love in Him.

We are through.
