ZSPOOL2PDF: Convert 1099 Spool to Printable PDF File

Purpose

Use this procedure to convert a 1099 spool into a printable PDF file.

Trigger

Perform this procedure when a 1099 form spool is created using the generic withholding tax report
(S_P00_07000134) and must be converted into a printable PDF file.

Prerequisites

 A 1099 spool was created with the generic withholding tax report
 The spool number was identified using transaction SP01

Menu Path

Use the following menu path to begin this transaction:

ZSPOOL2PDF

Helpful Hints

 R/O/C column in tables represents Required, Optional, or Conditional entry.

 The spool number must be known; it can be identified using transaction SP01.
 ZSPOOL2PDF must be executed in the background. Do not execute in the foreground.
 The PDF file saves to the secure Sapfile\1099$ folder.
 Validate that the PDF file to ensure it includes all the 1099 records and that the records are
correct.

Procedure
1. Start the transaction using the menu path or transaction code.

Download Spool to PDF on App Server

2. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field R/O/C Description
Spool No R

Example:
234511

Identify the 1099 spool number using transaction SP01.

3. As required, complete/review the following fields:

Field R/O/C Description
App Server File Path 1 R

Example:
/usr/local/sapfile/1099/1099MISC2009.pdf

4. Click Program .
5. Select Execute in Background .
ZSPOOL2PFD must be executed in background.

If you execute in foreground the transaction may fail or run for 20 minutes, and then fail.

Background Print Parameters

7. Click Immediate to execute right now.

8. Click Save . The system generates an email once the spool is complete.

\\Sapfile_test\1099$

9. Double-click 1099MISC2009.pdf list item to view the PDF file.

Locate the \\Sapfile\1099$ to folder from Network Place to view the created PDF file.
