underpressureswimblog@gmail.com FADE IN: HELLO, WELCOME TO UNDER PRESSURE SWIM BLOG. TODAY WE WILL BE GOING INTO AS FAR AS YOU CAN GO SPRINTS .
These specific sprints are helpful on watching out for
your stroke. When a person tends to swim faster their stroke technique tends to start lacking. With placing the Kaatsu bands around your upper arms and placing a resistance band or bungee around your waist, you are now prepared to start the drill. This drill is made for you to sprint as far as you can with the bungee around your waist, to see both how far along you are and what improvements you still need to fix. This drill easily helps coaches detect when you are doing something wrong with your swim techniques. This drill specifically with see you doing said issue even more drastically because you won't only for compensating for being tired but also trying to push farther due to the bungee pulling you back. If you were to constantly do this drill wrong with the Kaatsu band on, your muscles will become accustomed to doing the drill like that so that is why it is advised to do the drill correctly so that it is programed into your muscle memory. Through this drill you should also be thinking about your underwaters and breakthrough stroke.
INCORRECTLY
Swimmers completing this drill incorrectly
usually don’t focus on their underwaters and breakout stroke, already starting off their sprint slower than it could be. Their stroke can also be seen deteriorating throughout the sprint and some of them tend to give up before they achieve the farthest, they can go. CORRECTLY
The swimmers do the drill correctly focus
on their underwaters and breakout stroke. Their stroke also does not seem to fall apart throughout the whole sprint allowing them to keep pushing instead of giving up when the drill becomes to challenging.
