PART I DICTATION

Learning Sympathy
A big part of being human is feeling sympathy, but how early on in
our lives do we learn this? Scientists find that babies respond to
other people by crying when other babies cry. However, babies
can't distinguish between themselves and others until they're
eighteen to twenty months old. Toddlers start to show concern for
others around this time. Kids also begin to do things like comforting
other people, and . And by the time they're three, most children will
try to protect a victime victim in a fight.

PART VI WRITING

Will intelligent machines make us lazy?

In this article, the author believes that intelligent machines or
artificial intelligence (AI) can replace human work in many ways. For
example, AI does much better at maneuvering aircrafts than
humans do. In addition, artificial intelligence can even beat humans
in some activities, such as playing chess and writing poetry. In this
way, artificial intelligence can relieve the work pressure of human
beings and make our lives more comfortable. So the author thinks
that humans will increasingly rely on artificial intelligence in their
work and life and as a result they will become lazier and eventually
degenerate under the careful care of artificial intelligence.

At present, artificial intelligence has completely entered our lives.

While improving the quality of human life, it has also created a
large number of innovations for all walks of life. For example,
artificial intelligence technology has promoted the innovation and
upgrade of hardware and software services such as cars, chips, and
the Internet. At the same time, the application of facial recognition
and virtual reality becomes also more and more popular.

In fact, whether the human brain is degraded or not doesn’t depend

on the artificial intelligence, but on whether humans become lazy.
People who are willing to be lazy will suffer mental degeneration
even without the advent of artificial intelligence technology; on the
contrary, if they continuously motivate themselves to tap their own
potential and improve learning ability to keep up with the times,
there will be no false proposition such as “intelligent machines will
make our brains lazy”.

Technology has changed human life, making our lives more

comfortable and our work more efficient. For humans, the benefits
of artificial intelligence outweigh its disadvantages. We have
sufficient reasons to believe that AI will open a new world full of
imagination for us.
