SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2010 – 2011

ENDOWMENT FUND SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
GOVERNMENT OF SINDH EDUCATION AND LITERACY
DEPARTMENT
We are pleased to inform that Government of Sindh – Education & Literacy Department has announced
“Education Endowment Fund Scholarship Scheme” to support poor & meritorious students of Sindh seeking
education in institute of higher education.

The criteria for scholarship are as follows:

1. Full time students whose parents / guardians have an annual net income from all sources, of not more
than Rs.250,000/-
2. The applicant must have continuously maintained his / her principal place of abode in the province of
Sindh for at least 20 years.
3. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear before a Selection Committee for Interview.
4. The merit of applicants shall be determined as per laid down formula evolved by the Endowment Fund
Board.
5. A Share of 60% & 40% will be maintained for RURAL and URBAN candidates, 70% of fund will
be allocated for Graduate studies while 30% for Post – Graduate studies, respectively.
6. The students who were already awarded scholarship may also apply for Renewal along with the present
result (GPA).
7. Incomplete applications will not be entertained. Required document must be enclosed. Giving wrong /
incomplete information will disqualify the candidates for Scholarship.

Students who meet the above criteria and wish to apply for scholarship are hereby informed that Scholarship
Application form may be obtained from “The Office of Additional Secretary Endowment, Education &
Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, 3rd Floor, Old KDA Building opposite Tughlaque House,
Sindh Secretariat No. 3, Karachi Tel: 021-99211221” by depositing Pay order of Rs.100/= (With two
photocopies) from any branch of National Bank of Pakistan in Karachi & Sindh, in favour of the “Additional
Secretary (Endowment) Education & Literacy Department, Government of Sindh”.

All interested students are also advised to:

• Obtain an endorsement by the IBA Financial Aid Office on the application form.
• Incomplete applications will not be entertained. Required documents must be enclosed. Giving wrong /
incomplete information will disqualify the candidates for Scholarship.
• Send the application form along with the required documents as specified in the application form by
December 31, 2010 (closing date) to the office of Additional Secretary Endowment, Education &
Literacy Department, Government of Sindh, 3rd Floor, Old KDA Building opposite Tughlaq House,
Sindh Secretariat No. 3 Karachi.
