About us

 We transform lives!
 We shape the destiny!
 We link education with career!

Career Education, Research & Training Council is an apex organisation set up under section 8
of MCA, Government of India for making policies and planning at the national level to bridge
the gap between degrees and career competencies. The Council has developed authentic,
appropriate and effective career development tools and learning management systems to
cultivate a culture of “career by choice, not by chance”. We are embedding career in
education.

We began to reinvent career education from the ground level; starting with few assumptions:
that the career decision-making services available to students at school/college are virtually
non-existent and pathetically ineffective. Perhaps approx. 94% of us are in the wrong career
or under-employed. This includes people who have failed to find a suitable career and others
who are in the job that only partially fits their talents, interests and working preferences. This
is an unrecognised national disgrace to a country like India.

We have developed career decision-making programs for in-depth assessment of a person’s

natural ability, aptitude and work attitude, which are very helpful in guiding people from the
morass of uncertainty to the best possible career selections. Our career management
programs enable people to have the most successful, productive and fulfilling lives possible.

We propagate the philosophy of “Be what you want to be”. We strive to help students and
adults find their passions in life and lead them to their dream career. We encourage young
people to think deeply about the things they enjoy most and then translate these into careers
that will drive and motivate them for the rest of their lives. We provide the tools to design,
monitor and develop their career which is self-engaging, authentic, impartial, measurable
and transparent.

Our activities take place on an individual basis either face-to-face or distance mode. These
include career planning techniques, self-assessment tools, organising studies, work search
and transition services. Our holistic view of the career sector enables us to develop resources
improving the quality of the career decision-making process which opens the doors of
success.

Our programme and career professionals have just ONE specific focus “Excellence in Career
Management”. We live and breathe career guidance; nothing else gets in the way. We are
practical, idealists and confident that our career guidance programs are the best in the world.
A strong commitment to research and improvement ensures that we stay the best.

“40 minutes of career planning prevents 40 years of struggle in life”

2
Our Vision
One life: Make it: The Best. To build a global network of advisors-assisted career management
system so that we can leave this world a little better than we have got it.

Our Mission
Our single-minded mission is to assist people to design the career and education pathways
that lead to living a life of "CHOICE" not "chance".

education and guidance.

management that enable informed educational and occupational choices.

cooperation and cohesion for a diverse and fragmented community of career
counsellors.

based and measurable career development tools, technology and resources.
 To provide a forum for disseminating effectively its findings and coordinating
communication with other bodies engaged in similar activities.

Professionals who assist people make career decisions with up to date knowledge of
career education pathways and labour market information.

and counselling in schools, colleges and higher learning institutions

 Passion for what we do and honesty, integrity, and excellence in how we do it.
 Belief in the power of partnership and collaboration.

Need for Career Planning
Let's read these strange but true career facts:

97% People first finish their journey (education) and then think about the destination
(career).

94% Adults are either in the wrong career or under-employed.

92% School students, when asked about their career choice have "let's see what happens"
attitude and most of them are either having unrealistic career ambitions or they follow the
crowd.

82% Post-graduates are not able to utilise their investment in education as they fail to
understand that degrees lacking employability skills are useless.

76% BTech and MBA degree holders are unemployable, some of them are doing nocturnal jobs in
Call Centres, sharing seats with their twelfth pass colleagues; trapped in a quagmire.

64% of school students and 88% of college students are busy doing everything except their studies.

Benefits of Career Management

 Career is now seen not as being chosen but as being “constructed” through the series of
choices about learning and working throughout life.

 Students with the right employability skills and qualifications are likely to achieve better
outcomes in the labour market e.g. higher earnings and greater satisfaction.

 Appropriate career planning enables students to choose the courses of study at school/
college that will lead to the qualifications they need for the right careers.

 Better guidance means young people are motivated to complete the courses and they take
fewer wrong turns. Also, they are less likely to drop school/college or to be unemployed for a
longer period.

 There is a statistical association between unemployment and crime. By reducing

unemployment, better career guidance can reduce crime.

 There is a correlation between income, quality of life and health status. Being out of work can
lead to stress, lower self-esteem, and depression.

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” - Benjamin Franklin.

4
Career Education Tools & Technology
The Council has developed appropriate and effective pedagogical tools, learning/skills management
system and career assessment technology, helpful in career planning and improving chances of
success in life.

1. Career Assessor: Be what you want to be

In a comprehensive survey some common characteristics found

regarding career selection are:

 Uncertainty: When asked about career choice, the general

reaction is "let’s see what happens (dekhte hain kya hota hai)”.

 Hypothetical: Some of the students have unrealistic and

imaginary career ambitions.

 Imitation: The majority of the students blindly follow their classmates or go along casual, half-
baked advice of family members, relatives or friends.

 Parental wish: Some parents try to fulfil their desires through their children and resolve that
"due to some reasons I couldn't become an Engineer, Doctor or Govt. Officer but I will make
my child the same at any cost."

Aptitude Assessment is an authentic psychometric tool for students to find their true interests and set
S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Acceptable, Realistic and Time-specific) career objectives; if a career
has been already decided, then its compatibility is matched.

2. Talent-
Talent-Tips: Recognise Innate Talents

Have you ever thought why the fingerprints of

individuals are unique? Nature never does
anything meaningless. Every person has distinct
talent hidden in the brain which is depicted by
fingerprint script.

Using Dermatoglyphics technology, parents can

identify children’s 9 types of innate intelligence:
Verbal-Linguistic, Mathematical-Logical, Musical,
Visual-Spatial, Naturalist, Bodily-Kinaesthetic,
Interpersonal, Intrapersonal and Existential with
4 Learning Styles: Visual, Aural, Reading & Writing
and Kinaesthetic.

Discovering a child's areas of intelligence and learning styles gives a clue on which activities they
should spend more time, so that s/he can acquire knowledge more naturally and efficiently and
removes the 'trial and error' method of parenting or teaching a fish to climb a tree.

5
3. Career Explorer: Career by choice not by chance

In this fast-moving age of globalisation, students are not aware of the world of work and cardinal facts
about the occupations. At one hand there is a glut in the traditional careers and on the other hand,
there is a real dearth of professionals
in specialised sectors.

Have you ever heard anyone

planning a career in Machine
Learning, Computer Vision, HVAC
Technician, Yarden Architect,
Dispensing Optician, Memory
Augmentation Surgeon, Podiatrist,
Actuary, Cartographer, Trash
Engineer, Artificial Intelligence,
Blockchain Developer, AR/VR Object
Designer, Smart Sensor,
Emotional Intelligence Designer, 3D
Printing, Big Data Auditor, Climatic
analysis, etc.

Due to the lack of career education in

schools and colleges, students find
their subjects boring because they don’t know why they are studying Geography, Chemistry,
Economics etc. From our case studies, it is established that motivation and success rates improve
exponentially when students relate subjects with careers.

The Career Choice tool provides details of approx. 1500 careers and how they are related to 1. Subjects
2. Skills 3. Activities 4. Abilities 5. Attitude 6. Aptitude 7. Traits and 8. Work Contexts.

4. Education Index: Don’t follow the crowd!

Today’s rapidly changing world of education is very complex, highly competitive and provides
innumerable vistas of opportunities unheard of a decade ago.

Due to lack of authentic information, many students imitate their classmates and enrol en-masse in
slickly advertised, expensive but useless courses. Consequently, at the career-building stage, after
spending their precious time and parent's hard-earned money, they realise and repent over these
deceptive programmes.
Education Index provides authentic and impartial guidance on
more than 20,000 courses with the "Students' Satisfaction
Survey" of the colleges and universities so that they can select
the right institutes offering the right courses.

This safeguards the interest of the students and beware them of

teaching malls selling their useless degrees, diplomas and
certificates, charging exorbitant fees based on misleading
publicity campaigns.

6
5. Study Organiser: View real-
real-time preparation with Progress Meter

When students and parents should know the result?

X After the exam (then everything is over and irreversible)

OR
 Before the exam (there is enough time to improve marks)

"How is your study going on?" - Ask any student and you’ll get the prompt reply "it is fine". There is
no reason to doubt until the exam is finished and results are in hands but then it is too late.

Our research shows the following characteristics:

(a) Many students create a routine in their copies and resolve to study as per the time-table but
most of them never follow it from the next day.

(b) For the first half of the year, students keep a casual approach towards their studies and at a
later stage, they hastily try to achieve more in less time, sometimes reading lessons the first
time on the previous night of the exam.

(c) Due to the absence of a proper study plan, students give more attention to a few subjects of
their interest and set aside other books which they consider either difficult or boring.

(d) Tuition and coaching culture are doing more harm than help. It makes students dependent on
others and devoid their minds from intellectual curiosity.

(e) Parents find it very difficult to keep a constant tab on their children’s studies. Nagging,
coercing and pressurising to study hard generally give adverse effects.

The Study Organiser is a boon for such students who are not paying proper attention to studies. It
creates a personalised subject wise schedule as per its difficulty level by calculating the appropriate
study time required to finish and revise each subject.

Study Organiser includes much acclaimed "Progress Meter" to show real-time preparation of the exam
in three colours:

Green: the student is doing well

Yellow: the student is lagging and
Red: the student has to work hard as it is difficult to pass the exam.
It also indicates the percentage of marks a student can obtain in the forthcoming exam with ± 5%
accuracy just like a thermometer.

Study Organiser helps students to manage and self-monitor study as per

its difficulty level and time available to get 100% consistent marks in all
the papers of the exam.

Progress Meter is equally useful for parents, teachers and school administrators who wish
to monitor and compare the performance of all the students with minimum interference.

7
6. Dream Jobs: Planning to Placements

After finishing studies, most of the youth randomly search for a job to accept whatever comes on the
way. This naturally doesn’t ensure the best.

Also, job-seekers have a wrong notion that posting their resumes on job sites will bring good offers
automatically. In reality, it only helps the website owners who are thriving by selling their details.

After collecting the jobseeker's data free of cost, all the job sites sell the resume at very exorbitant
price, for example, rates for accessing your resumes at Shine is Rs 6,27 lakh, Naukri is Rs 2.80 lakh, for
Monster is Rs 2,12 lakh and Timesjobs is Rs 2,04 lakh; which is beyond the reach for most of the
employers and this data is mainly purchased by marketing agencies, insurance companies, educational
institutions, placement consultants etc.

This is why you are not getting relevant calls or emails from genuine employers as per
your qualifications and requirements.

The best jobs don’t necessarily go to the most qualified applicants;

they go to the best job seekers.

To save time, energy and money which are wasted in experimentation; our Dream-Job tool provides
a collaborative, time-bound relevant job search dashboard with a career portfolio to attract the best
job offers for you.

7. Skills Evaluator: Validate Employability Skills

Teachers, parents and students are more concerned about subject marks. They forget the cardinal
fact that the purpose of education is to build a strong career foundation and to make them
employable.

Career competencies and life skills cannot be developed overnight.

To strive in new economy globally we must understand and develop following skills: Cognitive
flexibility, Communicating – written and oral, Complex problem-solving, Coordinating with others,
Creativity, Critical thinking, Cross-cultural competency, Emotional intelligence, Interdisciplinarity,
Judgment and decision-making, Negotiation, New media literacy, People management, Initiative and
self-direction, Service orientation, SMAC intelligence, Time Management, Virtual collaboration, etc.

Skills Evaluator tools are a must for recruiting the right candidate for the right job. This saves time and
costs associated with interviewing unsuitable candidates.

Skills Evaluator measures the levels of Arithmetical Reasoning, General Awareness, English/Hindi
languages and domain-specific skills. The high score provides a reassurance that the candidate would
suit the specific role and improve performance within the organisation.

“Degrees without employability skills = a mobile without a SIM card”.

8
8. Work Attitude: Listen to your heart & mind

The root cause of unemployment, under-employment,

frustration and tension is an incompatibility of a job
with the work attitude of a person.

In today's fast-changing and complex job market, it's

important to select a career based on personal
priorities and traits.

Work Attitude Assessment allows users to pinpoint

what is important to them in a career. It helps to
identify occupations that they may find satisfying based
on the similarity between their work values and the
characteristics of the occupations.

There is no alternative for this scientifically formulated psychometric assessment tool, which helps

 Students to select the right careers as per their work attitude.

 Job-seekers can choose to work for maximum job satisfaction.
 Recruiters will judiciously match the right candidates for the right jobs.
 Employers are benefitted from increased productivity.

9. Scholarships

This will help abroad admission seekers to study in the world's top universities irrespective of their
financial status. Using this tool students aspiring to study abroad can apply for 2000+ courses and
scholarships all over the world from one platform. Also, our expert counsellors assist in documentation
like writing a resume, essays, SoP, getting LOR, etc.

10.
10. CAP-
CAP-Contest: Inspire the path to success

This is like stepping stones for creating career awareness among students. Through an online test of
career knowledge, students learn about various opportunities open before them in a competitive
environment.

Parents can encourage students to participate in CAP-Contests and win prizes, scholarships, awards
and certificates of achievements.

The prizes and accolades won during contests have far-reaching

consequences and induce a very motivating effect throughout life.

We proudly mention them in our CVs and HR Managers pay attention while hiring the best.

The online career awareness contest gives a sense of pride among students and provides a catalytic
effect to accomplish higher academic excellence.

9
Framework for Career Planning
We follow the global benchmark for good career guidance practices to support schools in providing
the best possible careerlinked education and guidance.

1. A stable career education programme

Every school/college should have a stable, embedded programme of careerlinked education and
guidance having trained career professionals responsible for it with the explicit backing of the senior
management. The careers programme should be published on the school/college website in a way
that enables students, parents, teachers and employers to access and give feedback.

2. Learning from occupational information

By the age of 14, all students should have access to authentic information about occupations and the
labour market to plan their career path and study options. Teachers/Parents should be encouraged to
access the career website to support children.

3. Personalised career planning

Students have different career planning needs at different stages. Some have to attend universities
and others don’t have such plans. So, personalised career assessment and career dashboard should
be provided to each student. School should keep systematic records of the advice given to each
student and keep a track of their education or employment destinations after they leave school.

4. Linking curriculum learning to careers

All teachers should link curriculum learning with occupations and highlight the relevance of subjects
for a wide range of future career paths. By the age of 12, every student should have a clear knowledge
of "which subject is useful for which career".

5. Interact with employers and employees

Every student should have multiple opportunities to learn from employers about work, employment
and the skills that are valued in the workplace. This can be through a range of enrichment activities
including visiting speakers, mentoring and job shadowing schemes. Every year, from the age of 12
onwards, students should participate in at least one meaningful visit at the work-place in which the
student learns about the nature of the work and skills required to be successful.

6. Gain work experiences

Our report found that (in comparison to 81% of European schools) only 0.001% of Indian schools are
offering their students a meaningful experience of the workplace by the end of class 11-12th. Every
student from class 11 onwards should have a minimum one part-time summer work experience to
help their exploration of employability skills and expansion of networks. By the age of 18, every
student should have had one further such experience, additional to any part-time jobs they may have.

10
7. Explore higher education
By the age of 15, all students should understand the full range of learning opportunities that are
available to them. This includes both academic and vocational routes and learning in schools, colleges,
universities and the workplace. This should include at least two visits to different
universities/institutes to meet staff and students.

8. Personal guidance
Every student should have opportunities to meet with a career professional, whenever significant
study or career choices are being made. Every student should have at least one such interaction by
the age of 14, and the opportunity for a further meeting by the age of 17.

We create personalised “career portfolio” of a student which is:
(a) self-engaging – means involving student to design his/her own
career;
(b) impartial – not being judgmental or taking decision for others
but helping students in their decision-making process;
(c) authentic – research based scientific tools and updated
information from original sources;
(d) measurable – various stages of career development should be
measured, compared and analysed;
(e) transparent – all the stakeholders i.e. student, parent, teacher
and advisor can share the student’s career portfolio in real time.

SMART career dashboard with education pathways. A counsellor has to undertake
competency-based training either face-to-face or online which is self-paced and consists of
15 modules of theory, activity and practical.

14
What makes this a viable opportunity

Most ventures fail due to dependency on a single source of income. Here you
get multiple points of income within a single business model, so that if you
are not getting results from your effort, still you can have a regular income.

The challenging part of any business is getting clients. After making

investments, most of the entrepreneurs use 90% of their effort to get clients
and only 10% is left to do business. We save you from such pitfalls and
provide you leads so that you can utilise 100% of your time and energy and
concentrate on your core competencies.
3

There is a huge untapped market in the field of career management. After

investing money & time to acquire degrees, students and parents are
puzzled due to unplanned career direction and stiff competition in
Government as well as other sectors of the economy.
4

Due to a lack of career education in schools and alarming skills deficiency in

the labour market, demand for developing career competencies is growing
and growing day after day.

An automated and mentored business model

We reach out to students through the internet, where they spend a significant
amount of their time. You are getting:
 Most authentic, innovative and research-based Career Education Tools.

 Provision to work in a team to maximize efforts and income.
 One profession with multiple sources of income, to ensure regular

15
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is it a job offer or self-
self-employment opportunity?
It is not a full/part-time salary-based job offer. It is a socio-educational entrepreneurship
(business) opportunity. You are working as a self-employed career professional.

Who can avail of this opportunity?

Anyone, who has a burning desire to guide people and earn money, for example:
* Students: cultivate a habit of earning and learning. Shape your career by guiding others.
* Freshers: get real work experience and money in your wallet, while searching for a job.
* Working persons: looking for an extra source of income to meet the increasing cost of living.
* Retired: from active service and willing to earn, using acquired expertise and knowledge.
* Female: at home, eager to be self-reliant using education without the hassle of travelling.

Is it a network marketing or MLM business?

No. This is not a left-right, binary, matrix or other chain system or pyramid business plan. Also, working
in a team is not mandatory. If you don’t want to create and manage a team, you can work
independently as a Career Education Advisor.

Is it possible to work without investment or training?

Yes, you can do some of the works without investing even a single rupee. But if you want leads +
official g-suite email ID + IVRS then you have to take subscription. Similarly, training is required, if you
want to give professional training to others and to do the career planning of students and adults.
Training is a must to conduct career assessments, analyse reports and draw inferences related to the
right occupation and create education pathways.

I don’t want to invest can I get free training? Can it be deducted from my income?
Without paying to the trainer, no one will provide you with training free of cost. Training partners are
working hard for earning money. No trainer will invest their time to provide training of 15 modules
free of cost. Also, deduction from your earnings is only possible once you have started your work after
completion of your training.

Why training & certification is compulsory to work in school?
