Filipino characteristics are the attributes that fluctuates uniquely from different backgrounds of

society. It derives from different influences primarily in diversity of culture and values, that define the
individuality of every Filipino. Divergence from the characteristics may arise into two, the positive and
negative feature.

By simply measuring my characteristics, I’ve arrived into 3 conclusions for my positive and negative
attributes that I possess. For my positive attributes that becomes my strength as an individual, I have 3,
mainly: Pakikipagkapwa-tao, Hard work and Industry, and Joy and Humor.

1. First Pakikipagkapwa-tao, this thing would be one of my strength that involves human relations.
This thing is one of the characteristics that I cherish the most because it builds societal
camaraderie primarily friendship. I possessed this characteristic since I value the sense of unity
as a foundation of healthy environment and society.
2. Second Hard work and Industry, the strength that result into a desire of fulfilling despite of
many risk and challenges in this society. I manifest this characteristic in a way of willingness that
I will fulfill my dreams despite of the hardship enabling for me to have a good job and
opportunity to work abroad for the success of my family.
3. Third Joy and Humor, a characteristic that is one of the most treasure of being a Filipino by
having the most golden and fun-loving smile in every face. This strength is my coping
mechanism in line with so much stress in life that I barely acquire from the environment.

The negative attributes that serve as a weakness schism for me as a Filipino are: Bahala na, Manana
Habit, and Amor Propio.

1. First Bahala na, the characteristics that portray the procrastination of the Filipinos that reflects
on the dependency on fate on Supreme Being. This characterization manifest to me that
sometimes I let the supreme being to dwell and take care of things.
2. Second Manana Habit, it depicts the characteristics of putting off work to be done in the near
future or in the last minute. This habit I possessed is one of the most weakness that always
result in cramming for all the works needed to pass.
3. Third and lastly would be Amor Propio. This characteristic is one of the most popular schemes in
the manifestation of every Filipino. It focuses mainly in the self esteem that drives one’s
personal pride. This weakness is considered one of my problem that affects myself when
interacting and having communication in front of many viewers.

In general, Filipinos owned varieties of characteristics that depicts the identity of the Philippine Society.
A lot of cultures and values impact the individual’s action whether it will fall on the positive and negative
scheme. In yielding the societal community, attributes should be on the healthy side appropriate for the
development. And by setting such limit on the different morals influencing the individuality and identity
the society will stand progressively with
