11 Corrosion signs
The cleaning and disinfection machine is made from high-quality stainless steel.
Nevertheless, under special circumstances, corrosion may occur. The following points
must be observed:
• Ensure that no steel particles enter the appliance via the local fresh water supply
pipes. The same applies to the entry of other metal particles such as copper
filings or turnings.
• Corrosion may occur if unsuitable detergents are used.

12 Temporary decommissioning
Switch off the main power supply from the building.

Close the water cut-off valve in the building.

Remove the drain cover on the ascending pipe and empty the wash-pump. Replace the
drain cover on the wash-pump.

Unscrew the drain plug on the low pressure steam generator and empty the steam
generator. Replace the drain plug in the low temperature steam generator.

Flush out the odour trap once per week with a bucket of clean water.

Re-commissioning the cleaning and disinfection appliance:

Switch on the mains current from the building.

Check that all rotating nozzles can move freely.

Check the level in the dosing containers.

Bleed the dosing system: see the chapter ”Bleeding the rinse agent and detergent
hoses“.

Open the cut-off valve in the water pipe.

Start a program and observe that the program runs correctly and that there are no
leaks, especially on the drain screw and the drain plug.

13 Final decommissioning / Disposal of the appliance

Completely empty the hydraulic system and the dosing systems in the cleaning and
disinfection appliance.

Use the remains of the dosing agents elsewhere or dispose of them properly.

The cleaning and disinfection appliance must be completely disconnected from the
power supply by placing the main switch supplying power from the building in the OFF
position or removing the main fuse in the building.

To avoid any accidents, shutdown cleaning and disinfection machine must be made
unusable immediately, e.g. by cutting the cable loom.

When you dispose of the installation (dismantling/scrapping), the parts and their
corresponding materials should preferably be re-used.

Here is a list of the materials that most frequently occur when dismantling:
• Stainless steel
• Brass
• Electrical and electronic parts
• PP and other plastics

14 Maintenance
“MAINTENANCE NECESSARY” appears in the display when the appliance has
completed a pre-set number of cleaning cycles. The standard setting is 5000 cycles:

Maintenance is necessary after 5000 cycles or at intervals of not longer than one year.

Regular maintenance is e s s e n t i a l if the cleaning and

disinfection appliance is to operate smoothly and properly.
Regular maintenance can avoid break-downs and damage
(including damage from water) and enables the appliance to have
a long working life.

Maintenance will be carried out by a MEIKO service technician when requested.

The operator has also the possibility of concluding a maintenance contract with a
MEIKO representative.
Thus, regular and duly maintenance is guaranteed at all times.

“Next maintenance“ sticker

If maintenance is carried out by a MEIKO customer service

technician, he will apply a sticker to the appliance indicating the
date when the next maintenance should take place.
Please note that the sticker is fixed very precisely. The month in
which the appliance is to be maintained is at the top (in the 12
o’clock position).

14.1 Deleting the display ”Maintenance required“.

See service parameter P246 “Reset maintenance counter“.
