El Paso Museums & Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) Local Filmmaker Grant
MCAD will begin accepting applications for the new Local Filmmaker Program. This new funding
program for local filmmakers to create development opportunities for locally directed and produced
films. The LFP will become part of MCAD’s Cultural Funding Program.
Local filmmakers interested in applying for funding through this program will be required to attend a
mandatory orientation session in order to apply.

Creative Capital
Creative Capital helps artists realize specific projects while building their capacity to sustain their careers
for the long-term. An artist must be a U.S. citizen, at least 25 years of age, at least 5 years of professional
experience, and not a full-time student. CC provides financial and advisory support to artists in the
disciplines of emerging fields, film/video, literature, performing arts, and visual arts. Creative Capital
provides each funded project with up to $50,000 in direct funding and career development services valued at
$50,000, for a total commitment of up to $100,000 per project. This program works in a seven year cycle.

Rooftop Films/ Adrienne Shelly Foundation Short Film Grant for Women
ASF has partnered with Rooftop Films to support the artistic achievements of female actors, writers and
directors and provided a $3,000 grant to one female director for their short film work.

Scriptapalooza

competition in the world does that.

ScriptPipeline Contest
Now in its 17th year, the Script Pipeline Screenwriting Competition seeks talented writers to connect
with production companies, agencies, and managers. As one of the longest-running screenplay contests,
we focus specifically on finding writers representation, supporting diverse voices, championing
marketable, unique storytelling, and pushing more original projects into production. Finalists receive
immediate circulation to Script Pipeline partners, in addition to the following $25,000 to winner and
$2,500 to runner-up.

National Foundation for Jewish Culture Lynn and Jules Kroll Fund for Jewish Documentary Film
Filmmakers receive funds to finish a documentary on some aspect of Jewish history, culture, and
identity. The priority is given to projects in the latter stages of post-production that address significant
subjects; offer fresh, challenging perspectives; engage audiences across cultural lines; and expand the
understanding of Jewish experience. Documentaries must be in post-production and funds range from
$15,000-$35,000. Currently there are no open calls for submissions.
