Guangwei Fan is an industry-leading scholar and passionate educator. With nearly 30 years
of experience as an academic leader, he’s helped many of Maryville’s graduates find work in
their desired field. Now he can help you do the same.

In his career, Professor Fan has investigated ways to expand how data scientists and
mathematicians communicate with teams. He’s also published numerous papers in
mathematics and actuarial science. He knows what it takes to model a future in data science

ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS

ONLINE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN MATHEMATICS

• High school diploma or GED • Official high school transcript (required for applicants
with fewer than 60 transfer hours from a regionally
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (high school) / 2.0 on a
accredited school)
4.0 scale (college)*
• Eligible transfer credits accepted; associate degree
• Official transcripts from all colleges or universities
completion may satisfy general education requirements
previously attended
• No standardized tests required

*Applicants who do not meet the GPA requirement may be considered for provisional admission.

Transfer Credit Policy

• Only credits from regionally accredited institutions will be considered for transfer.

• A maximum of 68 credits from a two-year college will be considered and evaluated for transfer.

• A maximum of 98 credits from a four-year university will be considered and evaluated for transfer.

• The student must take a minimum of 30 credit hours through Maryville University in order to complete a degree program.

• The acceptance of transfer credit is at the discretion of Maryville University’s registrar.

Early Access Option

Maryville University’s Early Access program allows you to get a head start on earning your graduate degree while you complete
your undergraduate degree. With Early Access, you can take up to four graduate-level classes (12 credit hours) that apply
toward your undergraduate degree and a future graduate degree.

In many cases, this allows you to complete as much as 1/3 of your graduate degree program before even completing your
undergraduate program — saving both time and money.

To be considered for the Early Access program, enrolled students must submit an application and meet eligibility requirements.
