Reflection Prompt: What do you think went particularly well? How did this strength impact your students’
learning?
- We started the lessons with deep breathing which I think made the students calm down and start to focus
on the content that was about to be presented to them.
- Before the lesson started I explicitly stated the expectations and I included a laminated photo of what
whole body listening looks like.
- The students were engaged through the whole lesson which was showed through their engagement when
I asked questions.
- I paced the lesson well so that we got through a good portion of the lesson that I prepared in the short
time that we had.
- I used the I do/We do/You do lesson frame so I wrote a topic sentence on my own, we all wrote one
together, and then they wrote a few on their own.
- There was a show planned for the students to watch at 2:20 so the lesson was originally supposed to go
until 2:30 but I modified the plan so that we could get through some parts of the prepared lesson during
the twenty minutes we had.

Reflection Prompt: If you could teach this lesson again, is there anything you would do differently? How would this
have impacted your students’ learning?
- One of the students struggled with coming up with topic sentences about topics given without the
reasons that would come after a topic sentence.
- Once it was time to write them on their own, they could have used a little more support from me.

Evidence: Where possible, provide one piece of evidence that you believe

Scope of each element.
- Provided visual aids to help reiterate the expectations that were
