1. General
A. Good record keeping of allowable damage rework and repairs performed on
the throughout its life is essential for the following reasons:
- in case of additional damage in the same or adjacent area, which may
require additional operating limits,
- to ensure adequate follow up of any additional inspection requirements
for allowable damage and repairs,
- to ensure adequate follow up of permanent repair embodiment following
temporary allowable damage or repair,
- in case of future requirement to trace back the damage or repair hisÈ
tory or background.
B. Information of general repair details that should be recorded in repair
data form:
- A/C model, type, series and weight variant
- manufacturers serial number, A/C registration and serial number (if on
a removable component)
- type of damage (dent, scratch, nick, crack, corrosion etc.)
- action taken including references.
C. Location of repair that should be recording in repair data form:
- sketch or drawing
- photograph (optional)
- general location - e.g. fuselage nose section lower LH Skin or LH OutÈ
board Flap L/E etc.
- detailed location - e.g. between FR XX and FR YY, Stringer A and
Stringer B or 200mm from STA XXX etc.
- dimensions to existing structural details (distance to stringer, frames
etc.).

D. Dimension of the repair:
- length, width or diameter, orientation and any additional dimensions
defining the damage or repair geometry
- size of cut-out if applicable, depth of dent, etc.

E. Proximity to adjacent repairs, original doublers, mods or production
joints:
- identify any repair(s) or damage located on the same or adjacent comÈ
ponent (e.g. within one stringer, rib or frame bay of the primary reÈ
pair)
