TITLE OF THE STUDY

“A STUDY ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND STRESS MANAGEMENT

AMONG PARAMEDICAL STAFFS IN HOSPITALS WITH REFERENCE TO

BANGALORE”

INTRODUCTION

Employee engagement is the amount to which employees feel obsessive about their jobs, are
committed to the organization, and put optional effort into their work. Employee engagement is
not the same as employee satisfaction.
The word stress generated from Hans Selye. He defined it as an unexpected and unpredicted
response of the brain and body to change. Stress is a self-produced pain occurring in thoughts. It
varies in different situations and environments. Stress is always a biggest factor in human life,
especially when it comes to work. Nowadays employees are facing a very big problem known as
“STRESS IMBALLANCE”. Especially when it comes to paramedical staffs who are working in
hospitals. How an employee is getting stress at work? When the management expects more
outputs compare to what an employee is actually capable of. When employees have limited time
to complete the work assigned. Stress management is very important to overcome these
problems. Notably in service sectors like hospitals. It helps to identify the problems and find out
the suitable solutions according to individuals.

NEED OF THE STUDY

Stress management plays a vital role in human resource management in all sectors. Stress
management not only benefits the stressed employee but also improves the scope of
organizational development. Paramedical staffs who are working in hospitals have more stress
compare to others. Because they are responsible for human lives. Their lack of actions can have a
serious impact on their patients. Workplace stress can influence healthcare professionals’
physical and emotional well-being by curbing their efficiency and having a negative impact on

their overall quality of life. Some significant factors for lowering workplace stress were found to
be the need to encourage and morally reward the staff and also to provide them with
opportunities for further or continuous education.
