Summative Assessment for Science Unit

Learning Objective: Students will be able to define earths renewable resources, how they become

limited and what helps conserve those resources.

Day 4 Summative Assessment:

The fourth day the students will take a test for their summative assessment. The test will

cover the three areas they have been taught for the past week. The areas include earths natural

resource, the Three Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle) and pollution. There will be the four

questions the students did for their pre-assessment plus six new questions. Questions vary from

circling the correct answer to labeling, to true or false, to open-ended. Each one of these

questions will assess the students on everything we have covered this week. The scoring guide

for this assessment is a rubric. The rubrics criteria is based on each of the areas covered in the

test. A differentiated scoring guide will be used for students such as student 1 and 2. That rubric

will be graded differently. Both rubrics will be graded on a 1-4 scale but the differentiated one

will be calculated differently. The regular rubric will be 0-1=red, 2=yellow, and 3-4=green, that

is based off answers correct in each category. The differentiated rubric will be 0=red, 1-

2=yellow, and 3-4=green.
