the supply, in a way that the after sales technician could return the
electrical supply with that, conditioning the safety of the technician
or the use and functioning of the installation.

• Besides it is designed to guarantee the ineffectiveness of the

functioning, of an installation left “out of service” for safety
reasons, not complying with the norms, etc.

The safe usage of the main switch blockade:

• The blockade group is made up of basically 3 parts:

• The switch blocking element.
• Padlock.
• Signing plate.
• Once installed and fixed the element, verify that it prevents the
movement of the switch and the main switch cannot be
activated to ON position.

Precautions:

• The key of the padlock of the blockade must not be left in the
machine room where it could be available to the maintenance
technician of TKE.

(ii) Door blockade:

Door Blockade

Risks:

• The chance of closure the door, with the risk of a hit to the
technician or entrapment.
• The technician being locked in the pit.

Safe usage of the door blockade:

• In the maintenance works done in the pit of the elevator, the door
Must be left open by means of this element, around 10cm, in a way
Which reduces the risk of incident to the building users and
Guarantees an allocated way for the technician that is working in
The pit during the execution of the works.
• A magnetic plate of” Elevator under Revision” must be located to
The first floor.

Tests:

• The correct tightening of the door blockade must be done, in a way

To guarantee the effective blocking and avoiding it to close by
Mistake.

Precautions:

• Once it is located to its place and fastened, check manually the

effective blocking of the panel of the door.

The items.a.2 to .a.6 for important components of the elevator like

Motor, over speed governor and Safety gear are provided in the
appendices available in book 2 of volume 1.
7. Hand tools, Multi meter and ancillary services:

Resources of Tools:

The maintenance technician must be equipped together with the hand

tools and equipment for measures and diagnostics, established by
TKE. The conservation conditions of these elements must be
adequate, given that the operatives and safety for its use greatly
depends on the measures of it.

It is the responsibility of the maintenance technicians to take care and

maintain this equipment adequately and apply for replacing of these
tools in case of deterioration and wearing out.

Work Clothes:

It is compulsory to use the work clothes by the maintenance

technician during the working hours. The work clothes are established
by TKE, participating actively in the prevention of accident risks,
during the execution of determined maintenance operations. Besides,
it forms a part of the corporate image of Technical Assistance of
Service offered by TKE to its clients.

Individual Protection Equipment (IPS):

It is compulsory to use the IPS by the maintenance technicians, this

is established by TKE for different maintenance operations.
This equipment of safety are going to minimise the damage of work
accidents in great amounts, during the determined maintenance
operations.
It is the responsibility of the maintenance technicians to take care
and maintain these equipment adequately and apply for replacing
these tools in case of deterioration and wearing out.

Procedures for logical diagnosis and corrections of faults:

The maintenance technician of ThyssenKrupp must be supplied with the

safety kit. (TKE Safety Kit its included Door blocker, HASP, LOTO Tag,
Pad locks) Find attached safety kit.

Maintenance Procedure for the elevator

These elements are destined for better conditions of the safety of the
technician during the execution of determined operations of corrective or
preventive maintenance.

The norms and guidelines for its correct use is described in the following
parts.

Temporary electrical bridges:

A Electrical bridge

Conditions of use:

Maintenance Procedure for the elevator

• The electrical bridges must be used in a temporary and controlled
Manner and only to check/diagnose the errors in the functioning, faults
Or tests, in the controller cabinet or in the determined electrical
Elements of the elevator.

Risks:

• Uncontrolled movement of the elevator, for some of the safety circuits

Being bridged.

The safe usage of electrical bridges:

• Eliminate the possibility of the use of the elevator by the public.

Whenever it is possible, the elevator must be placed in the mode for
inspection or rescue.
• As a general principle the bridges done between the connectors of
the controller board, must be done with precaution, making the bridge
once every time over one line of safety, leaving the rest of the
safeties function.
• When the bridge is applied over the different devices of the elevator
(door contacts, interlocks) connect the bridge correctly, make the
correct actions and remove the bridge.
• Before re-establishing the functioning of the elevator, eliminate all
the bridges and keep them in the safety kit box.

Precautions:

• Advise verbally to the technician that it could be found in the

installation and where you are using the electrical bridge.
• Extreme the precautions when these circuits are taken out.
• Do not leave the electrical bridges connected temporarily or
permanently with the elevator functioning for the public.
• It is prohibited to use NON-HOMOLOGATED electrical bridges.
