Total 26 students were shortlisted in written test and were undergone technical

interview followed by HR interview at single place. Before interview everybody w

as given a form and they told how to fill the form). There were around 8 panels
consisting 0f 2 members (1 technical member(male) and 1 HR member(female)). I fi
lled the form and I was the last one to be interviewed AT 6 pm.
Me: Good evening mam, Good evening sir
Technical hr: Good evening, me Asutosh and handshake with me
Me: Also handshaked and told myself bhabani sankar and stood around 5 second
Technical hr: Please sit down
Me: Sat and told thank you sir
Technical: You are from Orissa
Me: Ya
Technical: How far cuttack is from your house?
Me: It is about 60 kms from cuttack
Technical: What you know except C and C++?(I wrote C and C++ as my language in C
V)
Me: I know computer network and mobile communication.
Technical: Ok. You know C and C++ very well?
Me: Actually I am from Electronics background. I had to give importance on my b
ranch subjects in 4 years. as software was my dream so I was always in touch wit
h C and C++. I know the basics of C and C++ very well
Technical: Tell me the basic difference between C and C++
Me: Told about 4 points about C and C++ and difference between them
Technical: What is header file and how it works?
Me: Told confidently
Technical: Whats the work of printf()?
Me: Told
Technical: Whats the work of scanf()?
Me: Told
Technical: You know while and do while loop?
Me: ya I know
Technical: Ok write syntax of for loop
Me: for(i=0;i<=0,i++) actually I forgot the semicolons between them. He help me
Technical: Can we write i+++?
Me: Yes we can write it in C program but we cant write in for loop
HR: Ok if I will write simplely as for(; ;) will it show the output?
Me: No I will not show as there is not any condition within brackets
HR: Why? Syantax is correct. Right? It will compile or not? Then what will be th
e output?
Me: It will print a garbage value
HR: Where it will find a garbage value

HR: Ok explain tcp/ip protocol

HR: What are the different types of ip addresses?
Me: Told and explained
HR: What other protocols you know?
Me: I couldnot remember any other protocols.
HR: Tell about peer to peer network and shared network? Difference between them?
Me: Told
HR: Which other subjects you know?
Me: Mobile communication
HR: Except mobile communication which subjects you know?
Me: I was silent I could not remember any subjects that I am confident in.
Then technical asked the HR manager(female) to ask questions.
HR: What are your weakness?
Me: Told
HR: TCS is present at many centres including remote areas. Do you want to be rel
ocated?
Me: I am ready to work anywhere for TCS
HR: How you believe that you have team leading capability?
Me: Told
HR: Why TCS?
Me: My brother is working for a TATA Group company for last 6 years.
HR: Both HRs asked at same time why?
Me: He has told me that job satisfaction is there is TATA Group of comanies and
for me it is the no1 it service provider and oursourcer in India and outside wor
ld also. They were happy at this time
HR: Why should we select you?
Me: Told about my strong areas and team building capability. And told them for t
he above reasons I feel I am the best candidate for TCS.
HR: Ok thank you so much.
Me: Handshaked and told thank you so much mam.
Mean time other HR asked me You have to take a Pakoda at least". Actually there w
as pokoda in the table in front of me and HR shared with me.
Me: First handshake with male HR and picked one pokoda from plate and again than
ked them.
HR: One more thing. Please nut the tie properly while next time) (Actually my ti
e was loose. I could not get any time to size my tie)
Me: I smiled and thanked again to both of them and left the place
We waited around 2 hours after interview at around 8 pm they told all the 26 can
didates to go to conference hall. We gathered. They gave the presentations about
TCS IT infrastructures. Actually the drive was specially meant for IT infrastru
cture servies.
At last they told that they will send the information about confirmation about o
ur selection through mail. We all left the place.
Next day on 2nd Oct at 6 pm I got an email that I have successfully qualified in
the selection process and will receive offer letter shortly. My joys had no bou
nds when I got the mail. It was the happiest moment for me for ever.
Please, my friends don't think that when TCS will come you will start studies. Y
ou start preparation from today. If you need any help you can send me email. I'm

Technical:
I reached there by 11:00 on 28th. After checking our documents, we were made 2 s
it in a room and asked 2 wait 4 the turn. My turn came around 7 pm and within ha
lf an hour, result was declared and again my name was in the list.

After half an hour, I was called for HR

Me: Good evening sir.

Int: Good evening, take your seat.

Me: Thank you sir. (Interviewer is looking at my resume, which i already gave to
them)
Int: Tell me about yourself.

Me: Told with confidence and smile on my face. (I think he was well satisfied wi
th my answer).

Int: Tell me about. Your family background.

Me: Bla Bla

Int: Tell me about your hobbies?

Me: Told as cricket and internet surfing.
Then he asked some questions about cricket. So be well prepare with your hobbies

Int: Why do you want to join TCS?

Me: Told some strong points about TCS and he was impressed with my answer.

Int: I you are rejected today, then what will you do?
Me: Told
Int: Are you having any geographical constraints (are you intended to work anywh
ere in the world)?
Me: No sir, I am not having any geographical constraints and I m interested to wor
k anywhere in the world.

Int: Are you ok with TCS bond (2 years, bond break 50,000)?
Me: Yes sir.

Int: Thank you.

(It was a 10 min round. I felt very happy for that. They told me that they will
send results through mail within 3 week. I thought i will be selected because i
was confident about my performance)
Finally, i got mail on 21st sept. Thanks to GOD, I was in TCS. Around 200 stude
nts were selected in this round.
I attended 5 companies up to now. TCS was my 6th company but I didn t loose hope.
If you have failed yet, don t get disappointed. Losers got a chance to correct the
ir mistakes and winners lost their chance to correct their mistakes. If you are
selected, remember, you are better than those who are participated for that inte
rview, but not the Best . I got selected in off-campus, I am very happy for that. B
ecause, i completed with the other college students also. But those who got sele
cted in On-campus are completed with the students of their college. Getting job
in TCS is one of my great achievements in my life.

No! It will not be the same.
After the Technical round, there was an MR i.e. Managerial Round.
It was just a 2-3 minutes round. The interviewer asked me to introduce myself. T
hen asked about my father. Then core values and strengths. Your hobbies? Which l
atest novel have you read?
Next was the HR round. This was a little time taking round as the technical one.
Question 1: Introduce yourself?
Question 2: Your family background; father, mother, siblings.
Question 3: How does TCS earns its revenues? How it does its business?
Question 4: What was the need of bringing Information Technology in India?
Question 5: There is a round cake. You have 3 chances to cut the cake. Divide th
e cake into 8 pieces in these 3 chances.
Question 6: Suppose if I reject you today, what will you do next?
Question 7: You have a good communication skill. Why is it so? Is it because of
your schooling or family atmosphere? Whom do you give the credit for this?
Question 8: What are your strengths? Give 2 examples of your life incidents that
portray this strength in you.
Question 9: What are your weaknesses?
My suggestion is please ateend minimum 25 questions. Remember there is negative
mark for wrong answer. So answer very carefully. After this there is Tecnical In
terview it is also some what easy. They ask you questions from each subject. So
be prepare for it. So please answer carefully.
Some of my interview question is:

ME: Answered it.
HR: Are you Oracle Certified( I am Oracle certified. I have mentioned it in my C
V).
ME: Yes sir(after this he ask me to show my certificate. I have showed it)
HR: What is normalization.
ME: I have answered it.
HR: Do you know C and C++?
ME: Yes sir.
HR: Write a C program for fibonacci series.
ME: I wrote it.
HR: What is DDL and DML LAnguage?
ME: Answerd it with example.
HR: OK you can go now.
ME: Thank you sir.
After this on 15th August result is decalerd. I'm one of them Ok. Best of luck f
or your campus. Below is the some of the written question that i have remebered
Technical Round(TR): 28th Sept
My friends faced simple C programs and briefly about project. Now It's my turn,
he asked me about my self and about my main project nearly 35 minutes and 2 sim
ple Technical questions.
You should prepare C programs like reverse of a number, palindrome, fibonacci, e
ven number series, odd number series etc. and also data structure concepts.
MR round: Next day
This round is horrible for me, I faced some Technical questions here also.
He asked some basic concepts, i answered those questions correctly and confident
ly but he argued with me that your answers are wrong then i told my answers are
correct sir, then he gave a horrible statement i.e "You think that I am not able
to write even a simple C program also" it was strange to me but i managed the s
ituation. After some time he said that
"Ok Mr. Gautam even you are not pefect in basic cinsepts how can i select you? S
o you can go now try again after 6 months". He repeated this for 4 times, each t
ime i smiled and justifying my answer, he again repeated the same for 5th time t
oo strange for me, at that time i get up from the chair and again with a smile i
asked that "Shell I wait at out side sir?" then with a smile he said that "Ok G
autam you are promoted to H.R round".
I was very happy after clearing the M.R round. I proceeded to H.R round with a l
ot of confidence.
H.R Round:
Here also i faced some Technical questions and H.R asked me that,
1) Tell me about your self?
2) Tell me any 2 incidents you want to share with me?
3) Why your % decreased in B.Tech? (As i had 77% in diploma, 73% in X , 68 in m
y B.Tech)
4) Your strengths? (very frequnet qiestion but be prepared)
5) Your family?
6) How you ranked your self compared with your friends?
Like this my H.R completed.
It was a nice conversation between me and HR they said they will inform me withi
n a 10 days. I got a mail that in 9 days it self statin that "you clered TCS sel
ection process". That is my movie story. I got offer letter on13th Oct. By gods,
fresherworld.com, shakkus, my friends, and myself grace i am one of TCS famil
y.
