PART C: DISCUSSIONS

1. Welcome Note
-Khushbu congratulated the ESA executives for making it through a democratic election at the
2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM)
 -The members’ full commitment was reiterated by Khushbu, keeping in mind that their studies
must remain a priority.

2. Recollect Key Points from AGM 2018

-ESA has not yet been registered with USPSA, however, registration procedures are half way
through. The coordinator and president will look into it.
-As per the AGM, Khushbu highlighted that the ESA will receive a maximum of $200 for all
events for this semester.
-It was unanimously decided that the $1 membership fee outlined in the AGM be left voluntary,
and projects will be sized according to the budget.

3. Proposal on Including 5 Associate Chairs (100-level)

-Alanieta queried if OS and PD students can also be associate chairs, to which Khushbu agreed,
provided they show commitment.
-Henali mentioned that there were professional accounting students present at the 2018 AGM
who wanted to be associate chairs. Khushbu informed her that they are welcome to attend
meetings and events as members, but not as office bearers.
-Khushbu will post up the vacancies today and the 5 associate chairs will be confirmed by the
end of the week.

4. Brainstorm on Projects
 Sports day: to be confirmed at a later date; proceeds from registration fees can also be
a means of fundraising.
 Fun Day: -Scheduled for Saturday (02/03/2019)
-Venue: My Suva Park from 7am to 10am
-Promotion and registrations to begin from Monday (18/02/19) with
registration fee of $1 per person. Registration must be made with Khushbu
- Games: Volleyball, marble & spoon race, sack race, tug of war, etc.
-Light refreshments to be provided.
 BSP Cleanup campaign – to be looked into by Henali

5. Delegation of Responsibilities
-The committees were streamlined to four, merging sports with wellness and environment.
-The executive chairs were allocated their committees.

-President mentioned the need to appoint an auditor as per the AGM. Khushbu replied that the
appointment will be done in due course as the need is not present.
-Alanieta to be in charge of changing the poster of the ESA Executive members and all members
are to send their pictures and a short note to Alanieta this week.
-Facebook and Moodle page needs to be updated.
