Social Media: Beneficial Tool or Not?

Social media can contain superior resources and low standard ones. This exists as the

reason why people must use it carefully and responsibly. Social media exists for pleasure,

communication, and information. Social media, containing many beneficial qualities, exists as a

way to connect with old friends, communicate with new ones, and receive information.

One great way to maintain strong relationships with old school friends, evolving from

handwritten letters, presents itself in the form of social media. Facebook provides a great way to

maintain strong relationships with old school friends. Also, on Instagram people can private

message to see what has happened since they last saw each other. In addition to connecting with

old friends, people can interact with new ones.

Many teenagers enjoy communicating and networking with new friends. In addition to

private messaging, people can also face time through another app called Facetime. During a

Facetime, people can screen shot the face of the other person, and make silly memes out of them.

Also, people can receive information on a topic that not many people have heard about.

Receiving information on a topic that no one else knows about exists as another useful

aspect of social media. News apps exist to communicate to the world about the drastic

happenings of the day. Also, in addition to News apps, if someone wanted to share information

with another group of people about a surprise birthday party, they could make a group chat on

Instagram. However, dangers do exist in social media.

Regardless of how everything has a superior side, social media can present some

problems. For example, someone could pretend to be someone other than themselves, and then

get personal information about another person. Also, posting pictures without a private account

could lead a person to another family members’ account on another app. Leading other people to

family members’ accounts can exist as an extremely dangerous thing, since it could put that

person in danger. Finally, social media exists as mostly a useful tool.

While containing many beneficial qualities, social media exists as a way to communicate

with new friends, connect with old friends, and receive information. In conclusion, social media

mostly contains interesting qualities, if people use it carefully and responsibly. Using social

media carefully shows responsibility and could earn trust in many places.
