About This Document:-

This document contains FAQs about “Downloading of Digital signing of e-Retail passes and the passes
generated against the permits by the licensee” through HPPortal.

Pre-requisites for signing e-Passes using Digital Token

 Latest version of Adobe Reader software.

What is a Digital signature?

Answer: The digital signature is equivalent of a handwritten signature or stamped seal, but offering
far more inherent security. A digital signature is intended to solve the problem of tampering and
impersonation in digital communications.

How digitally signed e-Passes can be downloaded by the dealers?

Answer:

 The licensee can download the digitally signed e-Passes from his/her login using “Download E-
Retail pass” link as shown in below screen.

 The licensee has to enter either the acknowledgement number for searching the digitally sign e –
pass or the search can also be done through option by entering value sin Period From and Period
To field as shown in the below screen.

 The licensee has to click on the Download PDF option and the digitally signed e-Pass would be
downloaded into the licensee’s machine.

FAQs:
What happens when the cross appears in the digitally sign e-Pass document?

Answer: If a cross appears in the digitally sign e-Pass, the licensee has to right click on the
cross button and click on Validate Signature Signature PropertiesShow Signer’s
PropertiesTrustAdd to Trusted Certificate  ok button. Then the digital signatures on the
e-Pass would be validated and a green color tick mark appears on the Signature as shown in the
below screens.
