Dear Parent/Guardian,

MOE Schools to Re-Open on 23 March with Enhanced Precautionary Measures

1. Ministry of Education (MOE) schools will re-open for Term 2 on Monday, 23 March 2020 as planned. There
will be enhanced precautionary measures to keep our students and staff safe.

Issuance of Leave of Absence for All Overseas Travel During March Holidays

2. The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that a 14-day Stay Home Notice (SHN) will be issued to
returning Singapore Residents and visitors from all countries, with effect from 20 March 2359 hours. To
further protect our schools, MOE will implement additional precautionary measures by issuing a 14-day
Leave of Absence (LOA) to students and staff who have been out of Singapore on or after 14 March,
which is the start of the March school holidays. Day zero of the 14 days of the LOA will commence from
the date of their return to Singapore, and affected students should keep away from schools with immediate
effect until the end of the 14 days. All affected students will be supported via home-based learning, and
the school will check on their well-being daily.

Enhanced Hygiene and Precautionary Measures in Schools

3. As guided by MOE, we will also implement the following additional precautionary measures for two weeks
when schools re-open, i.e. from 23 March 2020 to 3 April 2020:
 Suspension of Mastery Learning Programme (MLP) and Mother Tongue Fortnight
 Suspension of Co-curricular Activities (CCAs) and After-School Programmes (e.g. Orion StaRs)
 Deferment of Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation
 Fixed exam-style seating
 Wipe-down routine in classrooms, before someone else uses the table

4. These supplement earlier precautionary measures, such as suspension of large group and communal
activities in schools, and assigned seating and wipe-down routine in canteens. The National School
Games will continue to be suspended until the end of June holidays. For more information, please refer
to MOE’s press release at https://www.moe.gov.sg/news/press-releases/schools-and-kindergartens-to-re-
open-with-enhanced-precautionary-measures.

5. We assure parents that our school has been thoroughly cleaned and enhanced hygiene measures are in
place. At the same time, we seek your help to ensure that your child/ward brings his/her oral digital
thermometer to school every day, practises good personal hygiene, and be socially responsible. If your
child/ward is unwell, he/she should see the doctor promptly, and should remain at home until he/she
recovers fully.

6. Thank you for your partnership and support. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Yours sincerely,

Mdm Tay Siok Hwa

Principal
