How Can Music From Over Five Decades Ago

Can Affect People Even Today?

The roots of Rock 'n' Roll are in the late 50s with artists like
Chuck Berry, Little Ritchard, Elvis Presley etc. bringing a new
sound and an outrageous style, for the time. The next
generation was the one that established rock in the early 60s
with some of the most important artists being, The Beatles,
The Rolling Stones, The Doors and many more, pointing huge
success and made rock 'n' roll the biggest musical movement
of the decade. The 70s has been the peak of both the
popularity and the musical maturity, while the biggest names
in the genre had masterpieces written that are still played and
loved to this day. After the 70s and classic rock, came heavy
metal, that had been existing througout the whole 70s with
bands like Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, but the biggest
moment for metal was the 80s, with Iron Maiden, Metallica,
Megadeth, Judas Priest, Slayer ect. Then in the 90s there was
Grunge, and from then on ...things seemed to take the
downhill for rock. There were no new styles and musical
movements around Rock, except for Nu-Metal and Alternative
Rock, that were not anything original, mostly recycled old
stuff, covered up with a diffrient presentation to the public.
So at this day, is rock dead? HELL – NO! A genre is dead not
when it stops being the most popular one... Especially when we're
talking about rock 'n' roll which is about much more than the
music! The magic about rock is that it doesn't matter what age,
what sex and in what social position you are, if you have that rock
'n' roll mindset, you know how not to give a shit, how to be happy
and know what's right, 'cause everything is there, anything that
you need to know, you can find it in a rock 'n' roll song. If you
have that philosophy, you are free. It doesn't take much for you to
get in it. Just a song, one moment... It can be the most well-known
song by the most well-known band or the most obscure song of a
garage band that you just randomly heard of. Rock 'n' Roll ins
freedom, it's rebelion, it's your way to say what you have to say, in
your own words or in others', it doesn't matter, you know what you
do is right, just beacause... you know it. Being front row in a small
club gig, headbanging and screaming, and jumping is heaven. It's
a blessing that you will only understand when you feel it. I can go
on forever, but I don't want to become repetitive, even thought
there are tons of things that I can talk about, for hours. So, no rock
'n' roll is not dead and it's not gonna die soon. Rock 'n' Roll will
die at the moment the last rebelious, badass, talented, and above
all, passionate teenager (or anybody who still fells like a teenager)
dies... And don't worry, this is not gonna happen anytime soon!
