To whom it may concern,

I am pleased to recommend Emma Parsons for this scholarship opportunity. I have known Emma as an administrator for
the past four years and as a member of the community for the past 12 years. She has been an exemplary student and role
model for many of our students at Fernley High School. I strongly recommend her for this scholarship.

Emma is an active member of our high school community, not only in the classroom but as a strong member of our National
Honor Society and a leader in our Student Leadership Program. She is always committed to making FHS a positive
community oriented campus by being a leader in organizing community service hour opportunities, community clean-up
events, organizing volunteer hours at the local food bank, Stem Festival, local elementary schools and many other student
sponsored events. She is currently the 12th grade class Secretary and has demonstrated remarkable responsibility by leading
without supervision. She has been a positive role model for many area youths with her dedication and commitment to
making herself an outstanding overall student.

As an active student, Emma participated in four years of athletics at FHS. She has been a team member in Soccer and
Track. She is committed countless hours outside of the seasons to be the best athlete she can be. She has volunteered on
several occasions to speak at the local elementary schools about FHS and the athletic programs. She developed a passion
for working with our area youths in and out of school. She is the first person to step forward when the school or community
needs assistance.

Emma also participates in other school organizations during the school year. She was a member of the National Honor
Society for the past year which hosts many local fundraising and service events. Emma has been instrumental in starting
and establishing our new FFA program at FHS. She has contributed, both through her experiences and passion, to the
overall success of the program. She personally has won state awards in her FFA competitions, especially in the area of
animal judging. She has been able to succeed in extra-curricular activities while maintaining high academic standards in
the classroom. She earned a 4.90 weighted GPA and will receive the Advanced Diploma. Emma was ranked 1st out of 252
students in the class of 2020.

Emma has been enrolled in our Western Nevada College Jump Start program. She will complete four college semesters
and received her Associates Degree of Science in May of 2020. She has been enrolled in at least 15 college credits while
taking high school courses. She demonstrated a commitment to her studies, her extra-curricular activities and her family
during this time. She maintained a high academic standard in her college courses by being honored with the Western
Nevada College Dean’s List all three semesters. As a result of her academic success and pushing herself beyond a traditional
high school career, I truly believe Emma has proven her readiness to pursue a rigorous academic post-secondary program.

Emma has been demonstrating all of the characteristics that a high school institution would honor. I believe this confirms
her motivation to succeed, her hard work, passion as a leader, impeccable honesty, resilience and her desire to achieve at a
high level. Emma Parsons is a worthy candidate for your scholarship. If you have any questions regarding Emma’s character
or achievements, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Robert K. Jones, Principal
