I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standards: Demonstrate understanding of lines, shapes and space and the
principles of rhythm through drawing of archeological artifacts, houses, buildings, and churches
from historical periods using crosshatching technique to stimulate 3 dimensional and geometric
effects of an artwork
B. Performance Standards: The learners create different artifacts and architectural buildings in
the Philippines and in the locality using crosshatching technique, geometric shapes with rhythm
and balance as principles of design by drawing puts up an exhibit on Philippine artifacts
and houses from different historical periods
C. Learning Competencies: Shows, describes and names significant parts of the different
architectural design and artifacts found in the locality. eg. bahaykubo, torogan, bahay na bato,
simbahan, carcel etc (A5EL-lc)

C. Materials: pictures of some architectural designs and artifacts

III. Learning Procedures

A. Preparatory Activity
1. Review
Describe crosshatching.

2. Motivation
Show pictures of some architectural designs and artifacts in the country.
Who among you saw this pictures? What can you say about some architectural designs
and artifacts?

B. Lesson Proper
1. Presentation
Based on the pictures, what was our lesson today? Our lesson for is afternoon is about
space, distance and area of different architectural designs and artifacts.

2. Discussion
Discuss the different architectural designs found in the country.

3. Practice
Let the pupils make an architectural design. Follow the procedures on page 114.
4. Generalization
How can you help keeping our artifacts in our country?

5. Application
Why we need to take care of our old buildings, houses, and churches?

IV. Evaluation
Write TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if it is not on the blank.
