To Whom It May Concern,

I had the pleasure of working with Kelly Duddy, an applicant to your district, as her cooperating
teacher during the 2019-2020 school year. Ms. Duddy was with me two days a week, observing,
shadowing, working with small groups, and teaching original lessons from September to December and
in January she took over my 6th grade Social Studies classes full time. Throughout the school year Ms.
Duddy treated all of the students in a caring and respectful manner, provided engaging and creative
lessons, and was always willing to above and beyond what was required of her in order to best meet
the needs of her students and the school.

From the first day that I spoke to Ms. Duddy, her preparation, dedication, and care for her
students were evident. She had studied the district curriculum before the school year had even begun
and volunteered to come to both inservice days at the beginning of the school year so that she could
meet her incoming students and introduce herself to parents. This dedication and care for her students
continued on the first day of school when we had a student struggling with anxiety crawl into the corner
of the classroom. Ms. Duddy did not hesitate and asked me if she could try to talk to the student. She
proceeded to talk to the student and comfort him to the point where he was able to return to the class
and have a successful first day of school. Ms. Duddy continued to show this level of dedication and
care for her students throughout the school year. She regularly held conferences with students to get
their feedback, gave students extensive feedback on their work, provided students with extra help
during Enrichment, helped students digitally after school hours, and even stayed after school to support
students in their extra-curricular activities. In addition, Ms. Duddy was an active participant in team
meetings, frequently collaborated with other teachers, and attended IEP and 504 meetings.

Ms. Duddy also had a determination to ensure the success of all of her students. Through her
daily lessons, she created opportunities for all of her students to thrive. Ms. Duddy took the information
that she gathered from student conferences and previous lessons to differentiate instruction and best
meet the needs of each student. She consistently searched for new tools to assist her students and
used them to design innovative, engaging activities that supported the curriculum and allowed each
student to grow. Students were treated with respect and felt like they had a voice in their learning,
because of this they were willing to put in extra effort and accomplish their goals.

In conclusion, Ms. Duddy would be a tremendous asset to any school. She is prepared,
hard-working, and dedicated to seeing her students succeed both in and out of school. I could not
recommend her more highly for a position in your school. If you have any questions about Ms. Duddy,
or I can assist you in any way please contact me at 908-812-2934.

Sincerely,

Sean McQueeney
