3-D Paper Sculpture



Hello Amazing Art Students. I miss each and every one of you! Since we can not
be together I am going to give you a fantastic art project for you to make on your
own or with your family. Over the years this has been a favorite art project. Can
you believe you can make a sculpture from one piece of paper?

Getting started. What you need:

- piece of cardboard

- 1 sheet of computer paper

- 2 pencils. One needs to be long

- ruler

- markers or crayons

- glue

- paint brush for glue or use a pencil

tip.

- LOW TEMPERATURE hot glue gun.

Do not use a hot temperature glue
gun. only LOW so you will not

burn yourself. You can find one at a

grocery store.

Using the width of a ruler, (about 1
1/4 inch width) as a guide make a
series of lines across your paper.
Make certain the lines are straight and
you do not make them smaller than
what you can roll around pencil.
Decorate your paper sections with
marker or crayon or colored pencil.
Even if you only have a black ink pen,
that is still going to look great.
cut your paper into strips along the
pencil line. we are going to roll the
paper around a pencil. At the length of a
pencil, I cut some off. It turns out to be
about 2/3 of the width of the paper. You
can use the shorter pieces too it you
like.

in relation to another object.

When I add people or animals to my

art piece it just made a tiny house
now appear to look like a big house.
To achieve SCALE I do not
need to draw my own people
or animals. I can also add
toys or objects from around
my house to achieve the
same visual effect.
When you are finished with your amazing Paper Tube Sculpture send a photo to my
email. I am creating a website that I will send to you as soon as I am finished. On
that website I have a wall that I can post your art work on. Remember to add your
name, grade and teacher’s name when you send in your art
